User "Jeff" on Usenet is apparently reporting that Michelle Stafford may soon be released from Y&R.

I find this improbable in the HIGHEST.

Except, the last time LML wrote a character into prison (Jerry Douglas, whom I would have figured to have a lifetime contract)...that character died and the actor was dismissed.

Does anyone have any evidence for or against this outrageous claim?

Stafford signed a new contract not too long ago and she's Latham's pet, so that's not true.

Also, Phyllis is supposed to be released soon, on the grounds of a work release, according to a spoiler. So, she won't be in prison much longer.

Plus the only way Phyllis would be written off is if Michelle Stafford opted to leave and I don't see that happening anytime soon.

I'm pretty sure that LML would not write off Phyllis - she's one of the characters she loves.

Isn't MS's contract up next year? I could have sworn she did a interview during the summer of 2006 with SOD that said her contract wasn't up for another year and a half meaning that it was up sometime in the first half of 2008.

No, her contract was up this year, and a few months ago, she signed on for 3 extra years on Y&R.

Michelle Stafford signed a new contract and she stated at an event that Phyllis will be out of Jail officially in 6 more weeks.

Pffffttt contracts mean diddly if the show wants you gone, ask Matthew Ashford from Days.

I really doubt it. Phyllis is so glorified these days, she's a step away from Babe "I am love" Carey. L just can't see LML letting her go.

If only this were true: Firing Latham's pets Stafford and Diamont would free up so much story for more valuable characters...

One could hope that Phyllis would be gone. I can't stand what they have done to her character. Not to mention she is on way to much.
