You know what, if I trusted DAYS to do it right, I'd love to see one of the twins be born with Downs Syndrome. As a Marlena fan, the possibilities that gives is amazing (DH had a brother who was born with Downs), and for the show, it could give it the emotional and social story it needs. But I don't trust Sheffer and Corday to do it with the respect it needs.

On the British soap that I watch, EastEnders, they recently did a storyline about a couple dealing with the birth of a Downs Syndrome child. It started off as very heartbreaking but ultimately became an uplifting and beautifully done story. It can be done if the writers take the time to give the subject the respect it deserves. Not sure if I'd trust Days to do that though, although I think viewers would really love to watch an emotionally gripping story with a basis in reality for once.

The two girls that would be ideal for Lucas as they are within a couple years of Sami's age and so would be the right age at least are Noelle Curtis born 1984 (daughter of Neil Curtis and Liz Chandler) or Sarah Horton (daughter of Maggie Horton and Neil Curtis, therefore not a Horton by blood and she was never adopted by Mickey though he was her father) born 1981.

I think it could be a beautiful story. And if DAYS actually gave a damn about it and showed it respect, it'd probably get them the Emmy Corday so desperately wants.
