Kirsten Storms & Sean Kanan busted for DUI

What does a star posing nude in the past have to do with anything? Posing nude is not a crime nor is it dangerous and wreckless in that it potentially endanger lives. I dont see how that can be compared to DUI. If action were to be taken, bc of hte DUI, I think its in a whole other category than having done nude shots or porn in the past and I could understand that. I dont think either is grounds for dismassal from the show for similar yet different reasons

This whole role model thing is bs in general.

PARENTS are supposed to be "role models". Its your fault if you let your childs future be determined by Storms or some other person who just happens to be in the news. Storms did NOT sign up to be a role model. Shes just a young adult who is trying to life HER LIFE. Not anyone elses and for us to expect her to be all perfect is sorta wrong I think.

As for her job(s) she should NOT be fired for a DUI. Thats completely ridiculous and way too excessive. Posing nude is not a crime but surely that would bring a whole lot more issues and drama than a simple DUI in which NO ONE was hurt.

As for KM I would have still hired her cuz shes a great actress. And Maxie is a great character and I can't see anyone but Storms playing the role. I mean without her the whole teen scene loses a very important element and a central figure. Sorry but I hope her losing her job is not even on the table cuz as far as Im' concerned this isn't even news.

"A simple DUI" Sorry but IMO there's nothing "simple" about a DUI, even if she didn't hurt anyone, she could have.

Ugh I find people who drive while intoxicated to be despicable, selfish and lacking basic human decency. I mean seriously to get behind the wheel while intoxicated, how much [!@#$%^&*] sense does that make?

Oh give me a break. She IS a role model for I am sure many under-aged kids. She is a star of a Disney channel show and is also on a soap opera that has a big younger following.

Therefore she should be EVEN MORE careful and responsible for her actions.

You don't have to "live your life" by drinking and driving and making ANY SORT OF EXCUSE AT ALL for her actions, IMO, is almost just as bad as what she did herself.

She may not have signed up to be a role model, but the fact remains is that she is one and is on television and therefore is leaving some sort of an impression on many people and therefore she has IMO, MORE responsibility to insuring that she does not make illegal and potentially fatal mistakes like this.

And yes I do think this is enough to warrant her to be fired...she chose to break the law and drive while under the influence, VERY aware of who she is and that she is on television, she should feel VERY lucky if the show lets her keep her job.

Its high time these damn irresponsible actors/actresses had some serious consequences to their countless mounds of DUI bullshit!

1) Yes Parents are supposed to be role models, but Parents can't help who their children idolize. Whether she likes it or not, she is a role model to some people. I'm not saying she should live her life based around those expectations, but she does need to realize whether or not she wants to, she is.

2) How in the hell would posing nude bring a lot more issues and drama than a "simple" DUI. A DUI is not a "simple" matter, it's a serious issue. It doesn't matter if no one was hurt, the possibility of someone being hurt is enough. That would be like me taking a gun into a crowded mall and waiving it around while intoxicated. But I guess that would be ok because "no one was hurt." <_<

3) I'm sorry, but losing Kirsten would NOT be the end of the teen scene. She could be easily replaced, just like Robyn Richards was, and Danica Stewart was (who was replaced by Robyn). Maxie is not such an integral character that if she isn't on, the younger set would implode.

I'm trying not to make this personal, but your blasé attitude towards a very serious issue is very disturbing. Again, maybe I'm overreacting because I've been affected by DUI incidents, but I don't see how this can be taken as minute. That attitude is what's wrong with people today. God forbid someone break the freakin law, "oh it's ok, because it wasn't that serious."

....says the person who hasn't lost a friend, child, spouse, relative to a drunk driver.....

(not a reference to you...just a general statement)

Hmm...isn't that what happened to Jordan Clarke?

Correct me if I am wrong, but at least he did his time.

Only reason I said that is b/c he did his time, he owned up to it, he was off for GL for a while, and the show went on w/o him. It will not be that big of a reprecussion if she were to be gone. GH will move on w/o her, as well, if this were to happen. She needs to own up to her own actions and do what needs to be done.

It doesn't make any sense...thus the whole point of them being drunk right? I mean am I supposed to believe that after drinking all that alcohol that shes supposed to make a RATIONAL decision and hail a cab when shes clearly not in her right mind?

And no shes not a role model. Shes just an actress on a show. And its the media and other people who have decided for her what and who she should be. Her behavior is not your responsiblity and its not up to us to judge her. Sorry but if a child makes his whole life about Storms then he or she has serious issues and if a parent can't correct that then its their issue. Growing up I was exposed just as much as anyone to JT, Brtiney, Christina, and the whole Mickey Mouse Club, etc....but you don't see me mooning people on the side of the street like Brit. Nor am I copying any of their attitudes or behaviors. I've never once seen a study that suggests that the majority of kids who claim to "idolize" or make celebs their "role models" follow in their footsteps exactly or even remotely close. Until that happens I just don't see how her behavoir that night is truly going to have an impact on society or the kids who you claim probably idolize her.

A DUI is not that serious. Thats just my opinion. It should not cost her job. Its not a big deal to me because she didn't kill anyone. Nor did she run over a dog or a cat. Nor did she kill herself or a van carrying her biggest fans. Nor did she crash into ABC Daytime's studios. She just got drunk...made a dumb decision to drive drunk and got caught (thankfully). It should be a BIG DEAL to her because she made a dumb decision which could have cost her her life or the life of someone else. However it didn't. She should thank God, learn from it, and move on.

As for Maxie and the teen scene I agree that you could recast her but rarely do I find recasts a good move. Sorry but it just wouldn't work in this case. KS has brought FIERCE to the role of Maxie and I just can't see anyone pulling THAT off. Plus the chemistry she has with the girl playing Lulu as well as the other characters on the show is very natural and awesome. Yes the character of Maxie isn't important in the grand scheme of things but I do think shes part of the charm of GH for me. Shes the character you love to hate and yet you can't help but love her at some times.

P.S. As for your gun analogy I highly doubt you'd get very far with a gun if you were drunk. Most likely you'd kill yourself out of stupidity and being drunk. Not you personally Ryan just the general person. However for the sake of argument if someone did get a gun and went to the mall drunk waving it around then I would also support a punishment there as well. Although the threat of danger is definitely more HIGHER in your scenario IMO. I don't have facts or stats to back that up but I do think a gun in a crowded place like the mall is more serious than a DUI.

However I just don't support putting people in jail based on the "probablity of something" happening. Whether it be this scenario or that.

Anyways its just my opinion.

And yeah I Know KS is a recast but to me shes been the ONLY Maxie and I lover her in the role. I don't know who played Maxie b4 and to be honest I don't care since I don't think they can hold a candle to KS.

As for my comments regarding KM's nudity I just think it would be more of a distraction at the workplace and more of a scandal as opposed to a DUI. But again thats just my personal opinion. People get drunk all the time and do stupid things. That includes people at all levels of work.

However in some environments a person might not be taken seriously if they have nude photos of themselves floating around the place. I'm not saying its right but thats the reality of the situation.

If Kelly was going around flashing her vag everywhere, then maybe it would a problem for GH. However, her doing something that MANY other actresses before her have done by posing for playboy well before she got into acting should have no effect on her job now. I don't understand how posing nude would a bigger scandal.

If you wanna look at that, let's just take Vanessa Hudgens for example. She sent a nude picture to her boyfriend, it got online and now everyone has seen her naked. However ABC/Disney is standing by her. Again, she should have been aware that her actions could have come back to bite her, and I think that she also set a bad example for those who DO look up to her, giving them the impression that sending naked pictures to your boyfriend is acceptable (though it is, as long as you're legal).

But that's the trouble, Liason. I'm not saying that she IS a role model, nor should she be one. However, let's be realistic. Only in a PERFECT world would parents be role models. Little kids are very impressionable and they do model the behaviors of their idols, be it Lizzie Macguire or her counterpart. Young kids are just as media savvy as adults, if not more, these days. And kids signing onto AOL (I did that when I was 12) WILL see that story on the front page, recognize her, and bam! Know what she did. That's why I believe, but am not pushing for it, that it's a job liability for someone in that position.

Now, when that woman on that PBS show, years ago, was fired because she was in a porno? THAT pissed me off. KIds would NEVER have caught wind of that. There's no way. Even if they saw the news item teaser, they wouldn't click because they wouldn't know what "adult behavior" or whatever her actions would be coined as, even meant.

Point is......KS got behind a wheel of a car drunk and drove. THAT is what happened, plain and simple. She did not hurt anyone, fine....THIS TIME. Who says that this won't happen again and the consequences would not be more severe than this occurence?

Also, as much as it is hated to be admitted, there are young girls/young folks who do look up to these actors/actresses. It may not be known to the masses, but there are probably people out there who look up and respect these people so much they want to be like them.

Use this as an example, mind you. This is far off par, but it may send my point across.

A few years back, an incident occured where a little brother and sister were playing, and they mimicked the Wile E. Coyote and Road Runner cartoons, and actually injured her brother, thinking that he would bounce back like they do in the cartoons.

My point is, they do watch, they do take into affect of what they do, and albeit they may not see it as a bad situation, they could do that in the long run. Kids pick up certian words and phrases from TV, and that's basically the point that is being pushed. Knowing that her actions were wrong and she can own up to it and face the penalties, that would be best for not just herself, but to those who watch her as well.

    • Concluding 1976... Raymond Schafer arrives in Springfield and begins an extensive probe into Malcolm’s death, puzzling Ed, who wonders why most of Schafer’s question sessions keep turning back to Rita’s involvement with Malcolm. Ed assures the man that Rita’s only connection with Malcolm was as his nurse; he is unaware that Schafer knows a great deal more about Rita than he does. Just to protect Rita, Ed has Mike check on Schafer’s credentials, and learns that he’s a  well-respected criminal attorney. The waitress at the restaurant where Malcolm suffered his stroke tells Schafer that the woman who was with him reacted very professionally to the sudden emergency, as if she were a nurse. Realizing that her little sister has fallen hard for Tim, Rita warns him that she’s very vulnerable and innocent, but Tim tells Rita her advice isn’t necessary. But Tim then receives a plum job offer to be chief neurological resident at a prestigious Philadelphia hospital and can’t pass up the opportunity. Evie is crushed by the news and spends the next several days at home crying. Joe Werner, fully recovered, has accepted a post as a medical aide in a destitute village in India and leaves alone, with Sarah to follow him later. Justin asks Sarah to consider a partnership with him in private practice, but she explains that she thrives on the hospital atmosphere. When a call comes from India that Joe has had another massive attack, Sarah leaves on the next available flight and arrives only moments before he dies. The painful news is relayed back to Cedars at once. Sara returns from India a heartbroken woman, but the day-to-day involvement of raising T.J. and of her career seem to be her salvation. Justin shows a surprisingly compassionate and understanding side to Sara, but, ironically, Justin’s ex-wife, Jackie, arrives in Springfield with her diabetic father, who is suffering from a heart attack. In the process of consulting with Justin on her father’s condition, Jackie comes face to face with Sara for the first time since their college days. Evie’s heartbreak at Tim’s departure turns to fury and hatred when she inadvertently discovers a letter which Tim wrote to Rita just after he left. In it he concedes that Rita was right about Evie’s vulnerability where he was concerned but reminds Rita that he badly hurt her in the same way she feared Evie would suffer. Evie is now sure that Rita somehow forced Tim to leave town and is livid at the idea that Tim was Rita’s lover. She insists she’s cutting off her relationship with Rita and will pay her back for any help she’s received in the past. Ben and Hope’s wedding plans are off, as Ben, while still insisting he’s innocent, won’t explain why the robbery evidence points to him. Hope feels his unwillingness to tell her the truth makes marriage to him impossible, but confides to Ann that she is miserable without him. Ben has echoed these sentiments to Mike but won’t confide in him, either as Hope’s father or as an attorney.   Holly is trying very hard to build a life without Ed, but since she sees him virtually every day at work, she’s unable to put him out of her mind. She accepts a date with a member of the hospital administration staff but is unable to avoid making comparisons between Ed and this young man and winds up alone, sadly holding Ed’s picture and recalling how much she loves him. Believing that the hospital board’s conclusions on Grainger’s death have settled the question once and for all, Rita has regained her self-confidence, and her romance with Ed is growing daily. They admit their love for each other, and Ed confides that he intentionally  held back with Rita for fear of making another mistake. Rita then tells Ed she has never married because for her marriage must be forever. Rita’s mother realizes that Rita is truly in love when she confides in her that she doesn’t understand why she’s been so lucky in having him love her and how she wants to be the very best person she can be for him. Ed proposes marriage to Rita and gives her time to think about it before answering. Rita painfully realizes that her past could, if it rose again against her, make a life with Ed a lost dream. But Raymond Shaefer has been quietly but efficiently carrying on his investigation and has learned that Grainger argued with Rita at her apartment. He presents the evidence he’s compiled to District Attorney Eric Van Gelder, who decides the case warrants further investigation. Rita goes to Ed’s office to tell him she loves him but can’t marry him, that she doesn’t deserve him and “can’t do it to him.” As she turns from a confused Ed to leave, she finds the district attorney and a police officer outside Ed’s door, waiting to arrest her. Ed, insisting that a serious mistake has been made, calls Mike to help her as Rita, shocked and humiliated, is taken under arrest through the hallways of the hospital in which she works. Mike manages Rita’s release on bail only after she has had to submit to the degrading booking procedure. Mike sees her alone at her apartment, explaining he can help her only if she tells him the whole truth. Rita equivocates until Mike mentions Texas, indicating to Rita that he knows at least some of the story. Van Gelder has, in fact, let Mike see the bulk of evidence in the case against Rita, to convince him her arrest wasn’t a capricious whim. Rita explains to Mike that Malcolm believed she intentionally vilified him to his father, to do him out of his rightful inheritance, and then wanted his father dead to collect her money. Mike expresses his appreciation of Rita’s honesty, promising to help her. But Rita’s tormented dreams confirm that she hasn’t yet told all the truth, and after Peggy visits, expressing firm support, Rita tells Roger she has to reveal his part in the story. Roger painfully tells Rita about his being Christina’s father to show her that if Ed knew, it would end Rita’s chances with him forever. Rita, who was ready to tell Ed the whole story, now realizes how risky that would be. Adding to Rita’s pain is her forced leave of absence from the hospital until she’s cleared and the embarrassment of seeing her name in the headlines.

    • Yes, but the stories are all pretty awful Seeing Victor rehashing his hatred of the Abbotts  when he married one of them and has a daughter that is half Abbott as well as walking around with Traci's daughter's heart keeping him alive makes him look worse than he already is. And I remember he and Jack chatting amicably in the past few years. Victor interfering in Kyle/Claire is just repeat of Billy/Victoria. Sharon, Nick,Phyllis etc are around but again the stories are lacking.
    • I think Kevin's 1996 Emmy was fair enough. He barely appeared for his second. I don't think anyone else on the list is that deserving but I might have gone with Moore as he did try with the whole Keesha AIDS story. @alwaysAMC Thanks to slick jones' cast list I was able to see that Nikki Rene played Tina. Not much on her, as you mentioned. Tap and a few Broadway listings (it doesn't help that a younger actress with a similar name is in a lot of roles). • Thank you. That does ring a bell. I remember Theresa and Julian's drunk, giggly fake wedding (with Julian asking "Whassup?" to the minister). Was Bruce tricking the pair as a prank, or did somebody put him up to it? I especially liked Katherine recalling how dashing young Alistair was when he'd pick up Rachel for dates, and how she wished she could be her sister, then feeling guilty once Rachel had her boating accident ...
    • And Kevin Mambo beat Shemar Moore for those two Emmys. I chalk up the wins to the voters not wanting Jonathan Jackson to eventually end up with a five peat (he won 1995, 1998, 1999). These were the 1996 and 1997 Younger Actor races. 1996: Nathan Fillion, Jonathan Jackson, Kevin Mambo (winner), Shemar Moore, Joshua Morrow 1997: Steve Burton, Jonathan Jackson, Kevin Mambo (winner), Shemar Moore, Joshua Morrow
