Yes but when Carly fell in the quick sand Jack got her right out. She didn't go to the hospital, fall into a coma or hang on by a thread!! That's the difference I think. If she has a serious fall and ends up in hospital hanging by a thread or something like that, that would make Jack go crazy I think.

Jack may not have "run back" to Carly after the quicksand, but afterwards he allowed her to take care of him. Something he'd been really unwilling to do before. If Carly's really hurt, he's not going to be able to just walk away from her. All this time, Jack's clung to his anger to separate himself from her. He can't be mad at her if she's hurt. That would just be cruel.

I don't know...there's just such a rich symbolism between Carly being hurt, and the broken Carjack relationship. They can mend together.
