Good point, @Soapsuds!  I'd forgotten how both tend to play rope a dope.  Simon seems to sustain it a bit better than Murray, maybe because most of Simon's matches tend to go the distance, while Murray tends to play a bit more efficiently over the past few years.  Even his losses to Nolé take less time.<_<

I think thats why Gasquet doesn't like their match-up. He knows its all rope a dope tennis. Even ESPN commented recently that their matches are rope a dope …LOL…A lot of tennis fans find their matches boring.

It really was!  I'm gonna need him to stay healthy and I see him getting better.  Delpo was really the only guy in Djokovic's age group that knows what it's like to challenge him and the other top guys.  Maybe if Delpo can find a way to step it up despite all of the challenges he's had to deal with, perhaps the other guys in Delpo's age group can find the wherewithal to step it up too.

So Angie Kerber's first tennis tournament since winning the Australian Open and she loses in the 1st round, getting a 2nd set breadstick?!

Oh tennis.

E.T.A.

Looks like Kerber is in good company.  I just saw that Halep, Bencic (who recently made her Top 10 debut), Errani (who just won Dubai), Jankovic and some other players all lost.  Looks as if Doha defending champ Safarova may be about to go out but this is not surprising since she hasn't played in months due to that viral infection she was battling.

I'm going to give DelPo a pass since that was his 1st tournament in over a year, I think and he was playing with a strong forehand but 1/2 a backhand.  I just hope he stays healthy and if he does, I doubt he'll be losing to the likes of Sam Querrey.

As for Dimitrov...no comment.  I don't know WTF is going on with his game but I no longer pay him much attention.

Yeah it was his 4th match back? He might have been tired for all we know. I just can't with Sam Querrey. He always seems to be gone out of the radar and then poof he wins a non important tournament….LOL

Dimitrov is 0-4 against Ram…that is just awful. Ram does nothing better than Dimitrov. I am worried that Dimitrov may have peaked at #8 two years ago. I don't understand why he can't put it all together.

Yeah, I remember there was a picture on Social Media of DelPo after his QF match and he specifically said he was fatigued but happy.  I do think the fact that he hadn't played in so long, he still has to build his stamina for playing deep into a tournament.  He's already jumped over 200 spots in the rankings, so at least there's that.

Does Dimitrov have currently have a coach?  Kyrgios doesn't and it seems to be working for him so far but if someone is slumping the way Grigor is slumping and he doesn't have a coach, then he's way past due for one.  Sometimes I feel like Grigor is having an identity crisis on the court.  He got saddled with that stupid nickname (Baby Fed) and he seems married to the idea of mimicking Federer's style as much as possible.  I mean, there are some natural similarities in style but Grigor should aspire to duplicate everything because it won't work.  I'm not sure he knows what his strengths are anymore.  I'm not going to hold my breath but I hope he gets it together- tennis tends to be more interesting when there are more than 3 or 4 guys who can win at any given time.

    • The sad thing about SC being a great actor is that his character has never worked. Ever. And yes if I don't know what Liam is about and just focus on acting... I can appreciate him. But as soon as I connect him to Liam... I cringe.  Maybe SC should run till he is still young and find himself a role where he can shine.
    • As I've said before I don't believe the fact that both sisters have cheating husbands (one in the past, one more recently) is a coincidence or anything random. It's pre-thought and pre-planned and the message is clear. Cheaters can be found in all shapes, forms and sizes. Some do it in the most blatant way, they are known serial cheaters and their wives know of their past hook ups (as Dani has already said... she was willing to forgive Bill for his previous mistresses... till Hayley came) and some are more masterfully disguised in the image of the perfect husband. The fact that Dani was jealous of her sister Nicole's happy marriage in the first episodes was not a coincidence. I knew it the first second I heard it. It made me wonder and think what is beneath Nicole and Ted's picture perfect life. The show painted two very different sisters and then gave them the same crisis. It was intentional and dramatically focused on how these women acted after that... How they kept or did not keep their dignity. The contrasts and the similarities are not random. They connected the two stories very well. Telling us that beyond the gates there are secrets... lies and betrayals. And sometimes the happiest ones have the biggest skeletons in their closets. Is all of this a cliche? A soap opera serial cliche? Yes. Does it still work? Yes. And did we need to start with something that is more universal and easier to stomach by the mass audience? Yes. This is only the beginning of the show in terms of stories and themes. We will have years ahead of us to explore different aspects of these people. The first couple of months it had to be a classic sex and betrayal story that makes more people hooked. It's universal. Again. Nothing so far about both husbands being cheaters is coincidental for me. It's too early for that.

    • Yes!!! Mona feels  like one of my aunts, love the way she carries herself. Loved seeing Eva pop-up at the gambling place.  Monday was all around good soap. Can't remember the last time an entire episode held my interest.  Loving the fallout and reverberations from Ted and Shea-Butter Sheila's affair

. Tricia Mann Grant is 90s early 2000s quality FINE. As nice as it would've been to see Anita embrace Eva, I'm glad she didn't because we can squeeze a lot more years of conflict out of Eva, Leslie and the Duprees.   Lauren & Sheila, Viki & Dorian, Katherine & Jill all gave us good conflict for decades. Hopefully this follows suit. I understand the concern. Right now there's an issue of quality of black representation on shows more so than quantity of black shows. I'd like to see more predominantly black sci-fi, legal, political, supernatural or medical dramas over the typical who is sleeping with who. However, this is a soap, and this is what happens on soaps. White soap characters do these things all the time, but have the luxury of being seen as individuals, not representations of their entire race. Husbands/fathers like Todd Manning, Victor Newman and Asa Buchanan cheat, lie and swindle all the time but aren't seen as a commentary on white men. Black characters like Ted and New Dollar Bill should be able to do the same.
    • And that area of the DMV has a high-end glamorous casino the MGM National Harbor.
    • Even under the new writers, Jamey episodes are the shortest and the weakest A lot of people were unnecessarily clowny and bitchy today. There was a lot of fluff and filler too. And the dialogue was a little… ehhh as well. But welcome back, Kevin! It’s been a long time lol his return still seems really random but I don’t mind it. Philip’s actions make sense to me based on everything that’s happened to him lately and it could possibly set up more tension between him and Xander/Alex. And I wouldn’t mind seeing him and Kevin team up. I thought the actor did a good job too. Too bad that they couldn’t get Robert Benvenisti back though. I didn’t realize it in 2001 but he was hot

And, we got the word that Arianna wants to come home. I’m looking forward to that, and seeing her relationships with Gabi, Marlena, etc. on display and I hope that

As for Rachel’s birthday party… was Days hinting at something that we’ve been speculating about since EJ was shot?

    • Portugal qualifying was the only shocker. I'm really happy for Iceland. IMO, the automatic finalists – Spain, Switzerland and Italy – had the best performances. I love the studio version of Azerbaijan, but on stage, it was a disaster.
