I feel for Thanasi. At least when DelPo went through his struggles, as depressed as he must have gotten, he had experienced the feeling of beating the world's best and winning a major. Thanasi was only just starting his professional career when he was beset by a cascade of injuries.

Hopefully Kokkinakis can find what works for his body, to keep it healthy.

I wish him well. He was my favorite of the next geners Aussie coming up. He has a good chance against Kei who lost today against Misha. He didn't look that good spraying balls everywhere and looking lost and frustrated as Chang watched.

Yeah, me too.  I happened to catch the end of both Thanasi and Nick's Junior careers and they both looked very promising, I liked Thanasi right away, he always struck me as a hard worker (maybe worked too hard?) so hopefully he can catch a break that will ignite his confidence.

I have to say that I hope this time around Thanasi can learn to maximize his serve, so he can win some points without having to grind out every single point like he used to (at least on faster surfaces). Nick has learned how to do this fairly quickly and it's yielded great results. From what I remember Kokkinakis had a pretty big serve when he wanted to.

I saw some parts of that Kei/Mischa match and Kei was making a lot of double faults.  I read somewhere a few days ago that he was having some wrist issues and observing his serve I could believe it.  Mischa, on the other hand, seemed to take inspiration from little brother's win in Rome and played his way to a final!

Good question. Stan is so unpredictable, lmao! Mischa's movement was so impressive against Kei and Mischa's ball-striking

, he was hitting or so close to those lines.

I honestly don't know.  Stan plays like sh*t all year but then he comes to the Slams and he's dangerous as hell!

If Stan plays like he just rolled out of bed, Mischa could get over on him.

That has the potential to be a very entertaining match!

I just read that Milos was on antibiotics, not feeling well but he hasn't been much of a factor in the Slams this year. In smaller tournaments, he seems to put in respectable results. No one's talking about him lately.  Berdych also flies under the radar these days (with good reason).

At least TC didn't gasp during it like ESPN did with the McEnroe brothers at the US Open last year.

    • Ashley just wants to schtup Andre. She needed to create a big meltdown in order to get rid of Derek and feel no guilt. Doug needed to lay Joey out on the floor. He needs to get some courage and beat Joey down to the ground. Kat turning down a date with Tomas to see if Eva was locked up is a sign she's going to lose him. Even without Eva in the picture she was going to have problems. The way she talked to him when he bumped into her and she didn't know it was him seemed to be a red flag too. Leslie has revealed a whole lot of the truth on her own. Without her making all those comments to Kat she wouldn't have ended up at the police station.

) Anyways... I did really feel disgusted by Eurovision this year and I doubt I'll watch this horrific musical torture in the future. My ears and my psyche will not survive.
    • Regarding the mobster storyline: The scripts, the cardroom set, and the writing for Joey -- are all terrible. They seem to be writing a realistic depiction of compulsive gambling as an addiction, showing that it pops into his head all the time -- it has become hardwired into his brain.  The APA (American Psychological Association) describes compulsive gambling as having a similar effect on the physical brain as drug and alcohol addiction. https://www.apa.org/monitor/2023/07/how-gambling-affects-the-brain I think Jason Graham (Doug) is doing an adequate job playing Doug as a compulsive gambler, with the thoughts/urges coming into his head all the time, and being unable to stop. However, the cardroom set is awful and the mobster storyline is a bad cliché, so it's all so uninteresting to watch. I think Mr. Graham is doing the best he can with the crap they gave him to work with. If anyone reading or watching has a gambling issue, check out Gamblers Anonymous.  They have many types of meetings -- in-person, online, video, audio, etc.  They also have resources for friends/family of compulsive gamblers.
    • Today was painful (especially for Philip).  I still feel for Xander. He was clear he was happy sharing and working with Philip. It's just one more betrayal from someone he loved. Going back to last year when he found out about Victor and Fiona, then Alex and Philip. He forgave and tried. Then Philip went behind his back again. He's been walking on the edge for weeks. This is a man who was abused, neglected and has never had any therapy for his horrific past. He has zero coping skills because he's never learned them. I hate this but I refuse to hate Xander
