I, personally am liking the NUKE storyline. I can understand how some people feel like the "relationship" of NUKE is unrealistic. However, I think Noah would kiss Luke because he is very confused right now. He is obviously attracted to Luke but knows hows his father wants him in a straight relationship. He knows Luke is attracted to him as Luke already told him. I mean think about it....if you were attracted to someone and trying to fight it...and then they tell you they are attracted to you, i think it would be hard to keep your feelings to yourself. Sure we think he is straight because that is what they are portraying him to be but they are trying to show the inner turmoil he has.....at least that's how I see it. And unlike some people I like the dynamic of having Maddie involved in this storyline.....that makes it even more interesting. Especially when you read the spoilers for next week...it's sort of all coming together. As for the bashing from others on this couple...you knew that would happen...unfortunately there are alot of narrow minded people in the world. I'm sorry for you soapsuds that you would have to be subject to that garbage!!!

I understand what you mean, but, and this is if what you're saying is really what TPTB are thinking, I don't think it makes any sense. Had they shown Noah's side of this story, not only would it have made the story make more sense, but we, as viewers, would then start to "know" Noah. I've never understood the notion that nobody cares about new characters. I hate to say it, but if a new character is brought onto the show and shoved down our throats out of the gate, I'd more likely care about that character than one who is brought onto the show and slowly integrated into storylines. A character doesn't get interesting to me simply because of how long he or she's been on the show, but because of what I've seen this character say and do in various situations. Had they focused as much attention on Noah's feelings regarding Luke (and honestly, that's the only problem I have with the storyline -- I feel like I have to play fill-in-the-blanks when it comes to Noah's thoughts and feelings), I would feel so much more emotionally-attached to him. It's little moments like when Luke asked Noah what was wrong and Noah's shy, whispery answer of "Nothing." That made me feel just a little bit more attached to him, because I could tell what he was feeling at that moment and what was going through his head. Just too bad that it all came out of nowhere.

It's just my opinion. I dont have a clue why Noah wasn't fleshed out more. It would have been nice. To have him thinking of Luke while with Maddie. But we got none of that. I am assuming this week we will have scenes Noah telling Luke how he really felt about him???

I personally think we could tell how Noah has felt all along, it all started when he dropped that towel in Branson in front of Luke, plus there have been several scenes in which Noah has given Luke very interesting looks. Sure I guess some of it could have been done better, but I really am quite happy with how they have told the story up to this point. I think the main problem was the airtime gaps that we had for most of the storyline I think that is what sort of made this not as great as it could have been leadup wise, but seeing as in the last month they are getting more airtime the storyline itself is starting to make more sense from both Luke and Noah sides of the story.

 Ok...sorry for laughing Clint but you think Noah on purpose dropped his towel so Luke could see him naked? I'm not saying it could have happened that way. But Noah isnt that type of guy to do that. He doesnt seem like the slutty type.....LOL.

At least with me, I complain about the whole damn show being a mess. :D

I don't care if there was a storyline about a man screwing his pet dog, if it's well written I'll accept it, but none of the crap on this show is. I can understand people wanting to like the Nuke storyline for personal reasons, but I just can't jump on that bandwagon. OK, you all claim to want Jean Passante out of there, but if they were to fire her, would you guys take the Nuke storyline (among her other craptastic storylines) being lost in the shuffle? Something tells me supporters of this storyline would rather Jean continue her reign of terror, just as long as she keeps the Nuke storyline in tact.

Another thing that's always bothered me about the Nuke pairing was a lot of people thinking it would be the most entertaining thing from the start. Even before Jake premiered on the show, a lot of people were making banners of Jake and Van and proclaiming them to be the next big thing on ATWT. This storyline was too anticipated and even if it isn't that great, some people would force themselves to believe that it was indeed great. That is partly the show's fault as well, but those idiots should know that you can't give everything away from the start.

I just want what is best for the whole show, I don't look at one storyline and think it'll be the saving grace of the show overall. It amazes me that some of you are calling for Jean to be fired, yet because of this storyline, you all want the ratings to soar. It's always my contention that if a show sucks, it deserves the deplorable ratings it's getting. I've been saying the same thing about Y&R as well, because ATWT certainly isn't the only soap in this predicament.

No one is forcing anyone to like anything. I just don't get it when people seem to have a problem when people actually enjoy something on this show. We should all be happy than any viewers can get enjoyment out of the show because that helps keep it on the air. I would never root for bad ratings for ATWT. For me, it's become more and more rare that I do enjoy something as much as Nuke. It's cool to anticipate the show and want to see what's happening. It's fun to see the show on Entertainment Tonight and even in blogs like Perez Hilton and OhNoTheyDidn't. I'm already anticipating more Nuke on Monday.

Ok..one last time.....Do I like the Luke and Noah story? Yes. Is it because it about a two gay guys? Yes. Could have the story been written better? Yes

Do I care that it wasnt written better so far? Yes But I will still watch. I am enjoying it. And I like Van Hansis and his portrayal of Luke. So you can beat me in the in the head with a club Alvin but I am still watching and caring for Luke and what happens to him. :)

::beats Ron in head with club:: LOL! :P

I think it's good that some are enjoying some part of the show. However, we can't deny the quality of the show overall. I mean, we all seem to want Jean gone, but would anyone want her gone at the expense of this storyline? I just want to enjoy the entire show again. Part of the reason I used the Nuke storyline as an example is because it's been the main focus of just about every ATWT thread on SON. I know for a fact that I'm not the only who is not enjoying this storyline and thinks it could've been so much better. I'm just not willing to gloss over a crappy writing, regardless of how much I like the actors and principal of this particular storyline.

I want ATWT to get mainstream attention for a gay romance storyline that's well written, not one that isn't. Look at the JP and Craig storyline on Hollyoaks, now that's a storyline that's been fabulously written and well-rounded. I FLOVE that storyline, ATWT's by comparison is horrendous imo.

I want Passante and Goutman out of there and if it means all of the storylines get lost in the shuffle, then so be it. We all know that in the hands of a more capable writer, this storyline could've been almost flawless from beginning to end. I'm not a bigot who hates this storyline because it involves two gay characters, I hate it because of the way it was executed.

I like Van as an actor, however, I find Jake to be wooden and under-whelming. He does have some chemistry with Van, but I don't find him to be a very good actor around the others actors on the show.

So, how long before Passante screws up this storyline for you all? LOL! You know she's more than capable of doing it. :P

Your giving Passanante too much credit. You are spoiling the fun for us who are enjoying the story already. :P:lol:;) Btw..here is the paddle so you can spank me. :P

Alvin, seriously we can go back and forth on this issue. I totally agree with you but I am still enjoying the story...Sorry.

And I don't think anyone is begrudging anyone's enjoyment of the story. But I don't really see how a bunch of youtube hits is going to help ATWT's ratings, even short term, and definitely not long term. Especially with the poor writing quality. New viewers tempted to sample the show for Nuke, will have a hard time seeing anything else to stick around for. I have a sentimental attachment to the show/actors/stories, but it's for me to find someone to root for in this mess. Even the dysfunction isn't what I would call compelling.

    • I totally agree with this, as most of you seem to. Mary Carney was at least competent and reasonably likable; I just feel like she barely had anything of substance to do before she was abruptly given the hook. And I get the backstory of Kathleen Tolan having done a play with Helen Gallagher, but...at any point did they ever actually READ her before they greenlit her? Because...OOF. First time I saw her on SoapNet was right when this GODAWFUL actress named Charity Rahmer played Belle on Days of Our Lives for all of three weeks before she was mercifully recast; her line readings were straight out of a Charlie Brown special. I remember thinking Kathleen Tolan could have played her mother! In the Frank/Jill/Delia triangle, Delia WAS the one who was cheated on, so I got why she was upset and thought it was perfectly valid in theory at least, but of course it was blown up to Wagnerian proportions including falls involving staircases and tricycles. But with Pat/Faith/Delia I had no sympathy for her...especially because it was mainly with Catherine Hicks's Faith and I really liked her.
    • I was going through those episodes from 1984 and early 1985 before they were taken down. Some of the older characters, like Don and even Tom, looked a little out of place, like they were on the wrong show. But the newer characters were fun. It's too bad they lost the character of Melissa. I guess Jennifer took her long-term place on the canvas.

    • The black and white episodes of the show are very special. An atmosphere the color run loses. Dark Shadows was filmed live-on-tape. They could do a retake but it would be very expensive. I think there was a claim that if actors wanted a retake they would curse. There was also a rumor that at one point Joan Bennett accidentally said "Hollywood" instead of "Collinwood" and that necessitated a retake.

    • It is a shame that more characters didn't go the ATWT-Barbara route and make the ingénue into an antagonist. Sort of like they did with Liza/Hogan/Sunny, less successfully. It is a credit to ATWT's creativity that breathed life in that character for years after she was fighting off bulls in Spain.  But, a character like Liza can only have so many true loves and high jinks on the high seas.  They need another reason to be in the story. Liza's wealth, as well as her acumen to see through fraud, was fertile ground for tons of stories.  But, I feel like the business stories for Liza were always about her being easily overwhelmed, rather than exploring things like her leadership and managerial skills.
    • STFU!! Dante!!! This nonsense of blaming Gio is just ridiculous! Alexis and Lucky are becoming so unlikable. Why are the writers writing these characters so poorly?
    • Keith still comes off younger to me. I thought he wasn't that bad for his first day.
    • To be fair, they were only recently step-siblings.  Their parents married within the past few years.  And, Draper's father Ansel was not coy about the fact that he married Raven's mother, Nadine, for the money. And, Raven's sort of sticking it to April that not only can she have a baby (April has a heart condition that makes it difficult for her to carry a child to term), she could also have April's man, if she wanted him.
