Seriously, I'm trying to figure out this debate. Jax said NO to the Irina woman. He chose his marriage vows to Carly over this Irina woman and she violated his choice.

I would understand if the Irina woman propositioned Jax and he CHOSE to have sex with her, but he didn't. He refused and she coerced him into it using violence and threats (pistol whipping, anyone?). If this were a woman in the same position, there would be no debate.

It's equal opportunity here, regardless of gender. If she says NO to him, then it's NO! End of story. If he says NO to her, it's still a viable NO!

The Irina woman used her position of power to get what she wanted, just like any other rapist. I'll say it again -- rape is not about SEX but it's about exertion of power.

There's no doubt in my mind that if Jax had the choice of going back to Carly or having sex with the Irina woman, he would've chose going back to Carly. BUT THE IRINA WOMAN TOOK AWAY HIS RIGHT TO CHOOSE!

I wouldn't put it past Guza, either. But I think it has less to do with Ingo's coming and going than it does with Guza clearly wanting Carly to be part of the Mob World a.k.a. Sonny and Jason's right hand gal. I honestly think that CarJax was an accident and now Guza's probably acting out since he's most likely being forced to write for a couple he doesn't really believe in. This is the second Ingo Vacation where CarJax has been threatened. First, it was last winter when Sonny duped Carly into marrying him. Now, it's this summer where Jax is forced to have sex with Irina.

Also, we have to see what God Almighty a.k.a. Maurice thinks of his pairing with Megan(Kate/Connie). I think that had a lot to do with the chain of events, too (I read rumors where Carly was initially supposed to be mixing it up with Kate and Sonny rather than Jerry during Ingo's absence). It's clear that Maurice is having a BALL playing scenes with Megan. I haven't seen Sonny or Maurice be so charming and sweet and relaxed in scenes in ages. I'm no insider, just a fan, but my opinion is Maurice is enjoying playing scenes where Sonny has a connection to someone in his Bensonhurst past. As an actor, I think he's finding it refreshing, rather than playing the same old Sonny/Carly dynamic -- regardless of which actress is playing Carly this year.

I dont think its the same as Sami. From what I read, Ethan didnt threaten to kill her or Lucas. He just wouldnt help save Lucas. And she wasnt physically attacked, or restrained down with handcuffs like Jax was. This is a shot of Irina and Jax after she raped him. Theres nothing ambigious about it

I don't think it's the same situation either. EJ didn't kidnap Sami tie her up and threaten to kill of her family. He simply stated that he wouldn't help Lucas and as a result Lucas would die and Sami would have to live with that. He gave Sami a choice and Sami paid that choice by giving EJ what he wanted. It was a barter, a trade. Did she want to have sex with him? No. But she did it to save Lucas' life and if she had to do it again she probably would do it in a heartbeat. I just can't cobble that around and get rape. He didn't force the issue. He made a proposal that Sami accepted to save her boyfriend.

Rape has nothing to do with sexual arousal, or not. It has to do with abusive assertion of power Whether Jax was aroused by Lil' Miss Mangled English or not, he said NO! She didn't have his consent. Just like a woman could be sexually attracted to a man, but when things get a little too deep for her and she says NO and he continues regardless, it's rape.
