I think ATWT is ripping a storyline right off GH.

They are giving Rosanna a drug to bring her out of the coma and how much you want to bet she will fall back into the coma like Laura on GH did?

Laura wasn't and isn't in a coma. She had a mental illness which somehow turned into a physical illness - sounds like they made it all up to me. Rosanna's coma is a completely different medical condition. Of course this doesn't mean that Rosanna won't fall back into a coma. In that case, both situations would be similar to what happened in the movie "Awakenings" which I believe was based somewhat on actual events. Anyway, based on what I've read, Rosanna's story is going to be one of those long quadrangles, so I don't see them going there. If Rosanna exits eventually, she can just leave town.

ohhh thats right she was in the catonic state. I knew it was similar though and still that is a lot like GH though.

"Miracle drugs" are hardly GH's domain. And GH had a very short window of time with Genie Francis. No doubt Cady's deal is to her advantage, but I hardly think it's as short as GF's.

I couldn't help but wonder if it was a subtle hint to Cady. Yes this drug can bring you back but it can only be administered once. In other words if you decide to take off again, don't be looking for a return :o It would be an easy exit but very likely final.

I thought the exact same thing, WorldTurner. And I'm happy TPTB are sending that message... "We like you, we're glad you're back, but play games with us this time and you're outta here." That's pretty much how I feel. I'm thrilled Cady is back but if she's back she needs to be back for real and not play the contract games she played last time.

There actually is truth to the statement they made about Genie's exit. Overtime it is possiable for the body to begin to shut down. Especially when it lies dormant for a significant portion of time. That's why it takes a good amount of time for people who awaken after a coma to get their strength back up. You have to build muscle mass back up and use parts of the body you haven't used in months or even years. So that portion of GH's storyline is factual. However the part about a mental condition transitioning itself into a physical condition. I have never heard of. But it is plausiable that Laura's mind was far too shattered to heal itself and thus she returned to her catatonic state...Her mind simple was not able to cope with all the changes around her and she found herself retreating into those recesses of her mind again. Even thou she didn't want to. Her mind just wasn't strong enough.

But Rosanna's case is very different. She didn't have a mental breakdown. She was in a coma mostly due to physical trauma from a car accident. While Laura's mind fractured due to the belief that she murdered her step father. Two different situations. One mental and one physical. One a coma and the other catatonic

ohhh thats right she was in the catonic state. I knew it was similar though and still that is a lot like GH though.

Is GH the first soap to use catatonia in a storyline? I've never heard of it being used before as a storyline in soaps. I saw it one time on Buffy The Vampire Slayer. But I've never seen it done previously or since in soaps...

 is Cady on contract or is she on recurring like last time?

Nothing has been said in any of the articles about the status of Cady but she is listed as recurring in the credits. Most of the time she was on ATWT before she was also recurring, which caused her to take frequent breaks.

On DAYS, Jennifer's mom Laura went into a catatonic state for years after a mental breakdown. In the mid-90's we found out that she was being kept in drug-induced catatonic state by the hospital administration. She finally awoke with the help of Vivian, who had been locked up in Pinehaven at the time.

I'm sure other shows have used catatonia as well.
