DAYS: Recast Sami!

I've said this before, and I'll say it again. Alison Sweeney is the best possibility for a future star of this show. However, NBC seems to love her on their primetime shows. She's been on Fear Factor, The Weakest Link, American Dreams, Las Vegas, the list goes on and on... and now she's been hired as full-time host of "The Biggest Loser."

If her schedule ever becomes so busy to where she couldn't fulfill her duties at Days any longer, and the show was forced to recast the role, who would you choose as a suitable alternative? If the character MUST be recast, and saying "nobody" is not an option, who do you think would work best as a suitable recast?

Me personally, I have to go with Alicia Silverstone. She and Alison Sweeney have always reminded me of one another. In fact, Alicia Silverstone played a character in a movie called "The Crush" several years ago whose character was basically an exact replica of Sami Brady. If she could play that role so masterfully, I know she could do Sami justice!

Here's a clip of her from an interview last week on 'The View.'

I know that nobody isn't an answer but it's the truth. She is way too popular now to ever think of recasting her. I honestly think if she left they should kill her off. They could get great story out of it and maybe she could come back one day. They could do it like they did Hope and leave it open.

I don't see Ali going anywhere though. She even said that her new job would not interfere at all and that she loves Days too much to leave it.

I honestly can't think of anyone to play the role. It would have to be someone who looks like the girl next door but can also have a mean streak/vindictive side. If Days did ever recast, I would hate to be that casting director. Wow...

Who would fit best in the role as Samantha Brady? Well that totally depends on what kind of character we want Sami to be. Do we want Sami to be like she is now or like she was before? Should she be good or evil, mature or immature? Anyway, I hope they never recast Ali Sweeney.

Why? If it's because of her "dissing" Elisabeth Hasselbeck on 'The View,' watch the clip. She's kind and courteous and answers every one of her questions! I think it's totally overblown.

Toups, thank GOD you aren't the casting director, LoL!

It takes more to casting a role than just matching the hair color. I can only imagine Britney trying to speak Sami's words through chewing gum and a southern accent.

"I'm gon' do anything to protect my lil boy Will, y'all! For reals!"

    • Shari Anderson was also head writer for a few months before the strike began.
    • I would agree.  Does anyone ever notice in Jan 1988/even Dec 1987, the show started to refer to characters from the past and mainly the Frame family?   It sounded like Lemay talk.  Jason Frame mentioned his sister Sharlene in early 88 but the ending credits still listed MD has head writer and I think Lemay was about to take over at that point.  The show hired Lemay back I believe to prepare for the 25th anniversary and try to recapture the audience that was lost by bringing the past back up.  Then the writers strike happened and all of a sudden the writing changed except when Sharlene Frame came back and we heard more family chatter again.  Maybe at this time they knew the strike was coming near to an end the producer forced the scab writing team to introduce Sharlene. I suspect even though Lemay was not writing at the time, the intent was he is coming back and the show consulted with him on his future storylines.
    • -- My Laugh of the Day goes to Carly calling the Metro Court a "five-star hotel." -- It's crazy, but what Drew did to Wiley makes Drew come off worse than if he actually murdered someone. -- Cynthia Wattros really needs to lay off the Botox. Because her face doesn't move, she's doing WAY too much with her eyes. -- Josh Kelly is looking so good with the new haircut. -- Rory Gibson continues to impress as nuMichael. Just another reminder that Josh Griffith doesn't know how to write for talent. -- This Lucky goodbye is sad -- in all the wrong ways. It could not be more pathetic. There's no doubt in my mind that Valentini told the writers they had 3 days to write him out and to make it ugly. No one will miss JJ.

      We all have our picks
    • Teach me to post cocky about all these rampant relations! As for the cut, it just made Leo Howard look more stunningly handsome. There are guys I think are hotter, but he's got the prettiest face hands down.
    • Yes Arianna and Sami are blood related through Sami and Theresa. They are also adoptive/honorary related because Arianna's third.parent is Sonny, which makes Arianna and Tate related through Justin and Isabella.
    • I saw more about Biden Old or the staged feud between Elon and Trump or just the usual distractions, but I will admit I don't stomach most of the news anyway.
    • Figured it was something like that. It's just feels weird that Will came back to see John but he's not gonna be at his funeral but

They are blood related. Through Sami and Theresa. I didn't notice it last week, but it looked so fresh today. Like he got cut minutes before they started filming or something lol
    • Bill convinced the Governor to pardon Luna. Steffy was too busy badmouthing Hope & Brooke for most of the Spring to concern herself with such trivial matters.
