Kelly Clarkson Speaks

You mean all those songs you all listed were songs they deemed not recordable? Glad that she did what she wanted instead of listening to them.

No, they were already recorded... apparently her label just didn't want them released as radio singles. Of course, they all went on to become massive radio hits, and the rest is history. :)

Yea some "crappy" singles.

Crappy to the tune of helping "Breakaway" sell more than 12 million albums.

If that's crappy, I'd be the craptacular...est!?

Go Kelly! Singing songs that don't gel well with the artist can make or break your career. Look at Justin Guarini(sp.), they tried to turn him into an r&b star which wasn't him he was more pop and the album was trash and now look at his career.

I LOVE HER!! :D

Good for her sticking to her guns, I wonder if this is why Clive was not on the Fina 3 on Idol. Is there tension over this perhaps? I mean, I know Kelly won ages ago but maybe Simon got upset with Clive or something. Or, maybe I am just reaching. Good for her though.

No. I've seen the album cover somewhere else online. It's of her standing up and "My December" in in this, like, stripe thing on the left side of the CD with the text going up and down.

''Kelly is not a puppet; she does not like to be told what to do. She could have gone the easy route, which is, you go with ['Since U Been Gone' producer] Max Martin -- it's a guaranteed success. She made it absolutely clear that she wanted to steer the musical direction on this record. You just gotta say, 'You know what? This girl has given us millions and millions of sales.' You've got to give her that opportunity. If it works out, fantastic. If she then decides she wants to do a pop album, every good writer and producer wants to work with her. Because Kelly will be here for 30 years. She has one of the best pop voices in the world right now. What she sold in the U.K., Europe, Asia had nothing to do with American Idol. It had everything to do with the fact that she made a great record and she's got an incredible voice. She's not a girl who got lucky in a talent competition; we got lucky to find her.''

If I didn't love Simon before....I love him even more now!!!
