I couldn't agree more.

Reliquary, Pheila, Daniel The Porn King - just a candid collection of Y&R's all-time worst storylines. Interestingly enough they're all of recent date. And I could list much more reasons why Y&R is horrendous but will remain from doing that.

I want Kay Alden and the real Y&R back! Where stories where more than just loose plotpoints and had a beginning, a middle and an end! When you could invest yourself in characters and stories! When you didn't have to be ashamed while watching because there is zero logic, zero sense and zero character development!

IMO, Y&R isn't flat out boring, but it's not must-see TV either. My biggest problem is the fact that the show is so PLOT DRIVEN! LML needs to make the show more about the characters and less about all the plots? People falling from a cliff? Sheila having plastic surgery to look like Phyllis? Phillip III isn't really Phillip III and has been deSORASed? All these plots were STUPID and the biggest blunder of them all THE RELIQUERY!

The only good thing that Y&R has and most of the other soaps don't is character balance and the use of the vets.

Whoever said that Y&R is plot driven is right. It's a plot driven mess, not boring, but plot driven. I'm entertained mostly by soaps that are character driven, because it makes sense to me. Y&R isn't making alot of sense these days, and some days it's ridiculous. I am not liking how some days Y&R seems to be taking a page out of JER's handbook for writing.

I am not an avid watcher of DAYS so I cannot really comment on a comparison between the two shows but for me, right now, Y&R is not a very well rounded show. The storylines going on now are a bit more entertaining then the ones in the early part of the year but this show still has some major problems. Y&R is no longer a character driven show. Latham has pretty much taken that aspect away from Y&R which made it unique from most shows. Y&R is written very much like an ABC show these days.... now while I enjoy all three ABC soaps, I do not watch Y&R to see an ABC show. It always had such a different feel to it more mature, more realistic, just an all around different tone. Don't see that much anymore.

Y&R isn't terrible... I can still get enjoyment out of watching it, its just not the Y&R of old and that's troubling to me and I fear we may never get it back. I long for the Smith and Alden days now :(

Well put.

Y&R has been extremely boring this week. This is good and bad at the same time. With the exception of Daniel The Porn King most stories are okay. Since Y&R is a plot-driven mess, this is a tremendous plus to previous months. Good stories = better overall quality

However, I don't feel any of the stories - for the exact same reason as mentioned above.

I couldn't care less. It doesn't help that some these plot hustles are SO predictable. Anyone care to dig up my predictions when Vickie announced her pregnancy? So far step 1 and 2 of my "wild" guesses from 4 weeks ago have turned into reality.

First, Sharon and Brad confessing love but keeping firm out of respect/obligation/whatsoever and just looking at SOW's cover make #2 another correct prediction of mine. FYI, my guess number 3 was a miscarriage... I'm sure LML will handle this come May.

I'm still watching Y&R - but only Jess Walton and Sharon Case's beauty keep me doing so, I must admit. The show is ruined beyond repair - unless Lynn Mary Chitchat is given the boot. Hopefully, the show will soon reach its record lows in the ratings from two weeks ago... This should have been a huge alarm sign to CBS. The show might have gotten new viewers but I'm 100 % convinced that old, loyal, viewers are tuning out in masses...

BTW: Comparing series is always difficult, yet the tendencies are there. IMO, comparing DAYS with Y&R has gotten impossible. The one is actually a show that tells stories about characters (which I would list B&B and AMC as the few notable others) whereas Y&R has gotten absolutely GH-ish - including plots and headwriters pushing their respective agenda.
