Out of all the shows that are on right now AMC is the only one I have watched almost from day one (except for a brief period from Feb. of last year to December). And of course during my school age years I missed some during school time but my Mom & Dad always told me what was going on. Y&R I have watched since day one but had a longer period of not watching. I love AMC esp. the Agnes Nixon years followed close by the Wisner Washam years. The only thing about those years that I hated was that he killed off Anne Tyler which always surprised me. One story that I forgot to add that I enjoyed a lot was: the Palmer/Donna/Chuck triangle - it was so good too. There are some good stories that have taken place after Douglas Marland died but Irna Phillips,the Soderbergs,the Dobson's, Millee Taggart and Tom King and finally Douglas Marland made As the World Turns great. Lorraine Broderick and Richard Culliton were good too! Some that I would add to SteveFrame's great list are: Tom's buddy Hank Barton gets him hooked on drugs. Tom hates Lisa when little Chuckie is born. Lisa rubs it in Claire's face that she gave birth to her husband's baby. Rick Ryan's hatred of Bob Hughes. Melinda Grey is Jennifer Ryan Hughes child. Lisa,Bennett Hadley and the Willows. A ripoff of the old movie Rebecca but I loved it! Carol and Jay Stallings. Betsy Stewart and Steve Andropolous. The introduction of Craig Montgomery and how mean and manipulative he was. I liked the character of Ariel Aldrin. Orlena Grimaldi,Eduardo's death and Lisa sues John. John's revenge on Lisa. Members Pest Spray Posted March 26, 2007 Members Share Posted March 26, 2007 DAYS (going by the years) Don/Marlena's romance/wedding DJ's death (if you want an emotional, raw performance, you can't get much better than that) Marlena's rape Sam's death Roman, Marlena & The Salem Strangler The Salem Slasher Shane/Kimberly's romance The Pawn which lead to John/Marlena's romance Stockholm Marlena's return - leading to Mexico The Pit The Affair Maison Blanche The Possession (not for it's sci-fi aspect, but for the love story underneath) Aremid Marlena exposing Kristen Sami/Lucas' romance Salem Stalker - until May 2004 (when Marlena died, after that it all went to hell) Max/Abby's budding friendship Sheffer's beginning - bring back the John & Marlena I fell in love with, with all their sass and humor, and bickering Nick/Chelsea And acting wise, Deidre Hall rocked the Brady vs Marlena storyline. Members SteveFrame Posted March 26, 2007 Members Share Posted March 26, 2007 A couple of more shows that are gone now: The Doctors: Carolee & Steve's love story Then Anne/Steve/Carolee with Carolee now played by Jada Rowland and believed dead by Steve Nola & Jason and Mona working to break them up Billee & Greta's teenage romance Billee coming back played by Alec Baldwin and mean as a snake Sara Dancy's death and illness (best written death scene ever) Barney Dancy's return Luke & Missy's love story Nick & Althea's rocky romance Matt & Maggie's breakup The Edge of Night (there were so many over the years I am sure I will forget some): The Laura Hillyer story with her look alike and all (was very young but enjoyed it and the clips I have seen since) The early Whitney stories Adam & Nicole's romance Mike & Nancy's breakup in the 70's Steve & Deborah's love story The whole Winter Austen story Draper & April's love story The Mansion of the Damned story with Kim Hunter Skye & Raven's story The Jefferson Brown stuff Denise Cavanaugh's suicide and framing Nicole for it (Holland Taylor in one of the best performances ever in daytime) The Serena/Josie Faraday stuff (once again another of daytime's best performances by Louise Shaffer) One note on the Denise Cavanaugh story. For anyone who loves psycho stories that is the best one. She played a mentally trouble lady without ever going over the top like Kate Collins, Kimberlin Brown, and others do at times. If only the writers today could write psycho, mentally troubled characters like her I would not have any problem with them. If would need to feature more Victor. In 2006 Days did a great job with having EJ carrying on the DiMera's or at least starting too, but not necessarily Philip's. Not because he is acting like a hothead, but we need Victor to show him the ropes in a sense. EJ has obviously already been taught the DiMera ropes by Stefano.
