Weird, man. Is all I can say. People famous for one role switching to another on the same show, it doesn't seem to me it has paid notable dividends. But then again you don't have to send ratings off the charts to be a worthwhile addition ... it's just that it seems it's more something that would be done to get the actor back, not because the story really needs it. Which has happened before, I just wonder because I thought Jason Cook left voluntarily. Perhaps there is more to the story.

I could see Rion's point here. It's like Ashley Bashioum on Y&R. Not the best actress, but nobody could replace her Mackenzie (or so it seems). I guess it's the whole familiarity factor and such.

The same thing was said about Kirsten Storms/Belle. Now there are very few people who prefer KS to Martha.

If there are two big things that I HATE about Days is that they always bring old actors back as brand new characters or in Josh Taylor's or Judi Evan's case a recast of an other character(for those who are confused on Judi Evans, when Bonnie was Maureen some actress played her years before Evans stepped in). This has happened far too many times and needs to just stop.

The other thing is how as of late the stars(younger really) that can't get anywhere come crawling back to Days. Even a few years ago when Kirsten Storms quit she later asked Corday to return but he didn't let her. Farah recently asked to stay but they refused. And now possibly Jason Cook? The only teens that actually got back in after being fired, quit, or whatever were JKJ and Heather Olson but Olson was soon cut and I bet if had asked to come back she would have been turned down. JKJ got back in because of Philip being "recast".

This better just not be true. Not only the reasons I mentioned above but even though there are not a load of newbies on I do not think Days needs anymore with the budget. Wouldn't Jason Cook cost a little bit more than usual since he had been with the show for six or seven years when he quit? We also have Matt Ashford and Judi Evans coming back, and even though Matt Ashford's is temporary there are rumours spreading it could be long term. Renee Jones's exit was really open ended so I could DEFINATELY see her returning within the next few months(but the budget could get in the way again).

And there are not really any exits coming now. Just returns. Ratings are not improving and Days is broke so I just think Jason Cook should not come back. I want him away from Days forever but if there was any time not for him to return it would be now.
