Late-Breaking News

AMC: Kendall's pregnant!

Last week was a rough one for Zach & Kendall, but this week, Mr. Slater rescues his missus from the clutches of his nefarious, serial-killing father - and when they get back to PV, more good news awaits.

At the start of the week, Alexander stands poised to off his daughter-in-law. "He has a dart strapped to her neck with a ribbon & all he has to do is hit a button and it'll shoot the poison ionside of her," says Alicia Minshew (Kendall). "Those were scary scenes for me because Ronald Guttman (Alexander) is such a good actor & so intense - and I was tied to a balcony & really couldn't move."

But during the father/son showdown, "Zach beats the crap out of him," AM grins. "He doesn't kill him, but he definitely beats the crap out of him. Then Ryan & Tad show up & they untie Kendall, but Zach saved her life. They've saved each other's really."

Then it's back to Pine Valley they go, and there, Kendall reunites with her brother & Babe. Picks up Minshew:"Kendall starts feeling nauseous and Babe & Josh are like,'Whoa, you know what it could be? You could be pregnant.' And Kendall's like, "What? No way. God, no, not with all of this crazy stuff that's been happening.' But she goes home & takes a pregnancy test & it's positive.

"The first person she tells is Bianca,'' previews the actress. "It's a happy scene, like 'Oh, my God, I'm pregnant!' She's pregnant w/ Zach's baby, which I think is awesome. I love it. I don't know what's going to happen; I have no clue if it's going to go full-term. I just know that right now they want to cement Zach & Kendall through this child.

How does the daddy-to-be take the news? "His response is to be freaked out at first, but ultimately he's really happy," say AM. "Really happy. It's a moment of joy for these two, which is so long-awaited."

Casting About/Grapevine:

In a move that may not come as music to the ears of longtime AMC fans, show sources say that its storyline focus on younger characters will increase in a bid to snare a younger audience.

On Friday, March 9, an eavesdropping Erica catches wind of Josh & Babe's scheme to flee PV forver. Will she make a move to interfere in her son's plan?...On Tuesday, March 13, JR tries to convince Babe that he's a changed man.

Kill him, Zach! KILL HIM!

Spike should have been the Zendall baby!

Yeah, because we all know younger viewers only want to watch young characters. That's been proven in the past. heh

YES a Zendall baby. I didn't think that they (the writers) would do it. I know one thing they had better make this baby go to term and live. And now that Hannah (Ethan's mother) is coming at the end of March, she had better not do anything to Kendall and the baby OR ELSE....:angry:

Well, that right there shows you SOD is an idiot.

Del is a homophobic, prejudiced, close-minded JERK, who frankly, needs to DIE. No, wait, no, he needed to DIE at the hands of Alex YESTERDAY.

When did Del Henry become homophobic? Was this after Dixie died? Just asking since I quit watching after Dixie died.

Yeah, after Dixie and Babe's funeral - there was a service/reception thing at Wildwind...Zoe was afraid to go bc she was dressed as a woman and didn't want to step on anyone's shoes as it was a sad day....but Bianca convinced her to go. Well everyone was nice and considerate to her except Del. He made a few comments and definitely made things uncomfortable and then Zoe left. Amanda gave him a hard time about it.

Oh, he said something like, "Cosmopolitan -- or a shot of whiskey?" Anything to make Zoe/Zarf UNCOMFORTABLE. He was a jerk. I perish at the thought of him!

    • @dragonflies The chris evans you linked to is the same Twitter user that got EB trending in Summer 2021. I really hope these lack of appearances are due to EB's recovery from knee surgery, and not his role being reduced.
    • Looking at that list, I highly doubt it.  That list is full of the most mainstream programming on streaming.  While I am sure DAYS does well enough, there is no way it reaches the kind of streaming numbers stuff like Wednesday and Yellowstone are getting.
    • Many have noted that Soap Opera Digest seems to be on it's last legs. A review of the publisher's website shows that they only sell 55,000 copies a week, to an audience with an average age of 54.3 and an income of 35K, which obviously does not make them competitive in advertising market.  Especially when one considers that even Ohio Cooperative Living sells 6x's as many copies per week. But, today's news that their parent company A360media sold the National Enquirer and The Star, which they've been trying to sell for years, leaves them with Us, Closer, and Life & Style (each which sells 3x's more copies per week), and SOD.  Which makes me wonder if SOD's finale may happen this year? Also, what's up with the cooperative community in Ohio that is so fascinating? Please register in order to view this content
    • One of my guys on my Team thinks that P&G directed him to write those crime dramas specifically to mimic what GH was doing. He also said the first was good & then they were ... I believe his exact word was  godawful. For some reason I cannot remember them! D'oh. How long till Catlin & Sally? Or is it Jake & the Loves next? As you can see, I am turned around. Please register in order to view this content On 2-5-1991 Vicky was on the stand impersonating Marley. Cass did not know he was questioning Vicky. Marley had lied to Vicky & told her no rape occurred. Marley had been truthful with Cass that Jake had raped her. Marley admitted in court that Jake had raped her. Afterward, in her anger, Vicky destroyed the first women's restroom she came to. Thanks to Another World Memories on #SoapTwitter!   I believe all of this is on her Emmy reel that she won with.
    • Tom King did a relatively good job writing for Lemay's existing characters.  But King's new characters were terribly ill conceived, and his writing for them was awful.  Had King been smart, he would not have written-off so may of Lemay's characters.  King eventually dedicated at least one fourth of the cast to badly written crime drama, which did not fit the style of Another World.  All soaps occasionally do crime plots, but King over-did it, plus the plots were not compelling.  And for some reason, the next two or three head-writers continued with the bad crime stuff.
