I'm not that worried about Days ratings, honestly nothing really happened last week...Or this week for that matter...It seems like these past two weeks have been set up for november sweeps and the future of the show...I'm just ready for Carrie Brady to come back and give the show a huge boost..

Maybe it's just me, but how does what happens on any specific day affect ratings pos/neg for that day (unless it's something heavily publicized)? Wouldn't they have to actually watch it in order to see it and not like it, consequently making the ratings higher anyway?! It would seem to me that the pos/neg ratings effect of an event would occur in the weeks after when people tune in to see a buzzed about storyline/performer or out because they don't like what's been going on up to that point.

Well, I watched every day of Days of Our Lives two weeks ago to see Jack and Jennifer when Jennifer learned that Jack was dying. Great scenes - if a bit depressing.

Since then I have not watched a single day! I have no wish to see Jack alternate between planning his suicide and putting Jennifer/Frankie together. Give me a decent J&J storyline that doesn't revolve around death and I'll be back! Sad to say I find this storyline so depressing that I can't bear to watch Days anymore even if there are storylines that are a bit interesting (John/Marlena, Lumi) right now.

Kind of funny - used to be J&J were the only reason I would watch Days. Now, I find their storyline so distasteful that it is the main reason I won't even turn on Days again for a minute.

Well hopefully the Jack dying story will wrap up by the end of the year...I'm hoping for a Christmas miracle....i want Jack on his death bed, and jennifer to find a cure..

I am always surprised to see the mens numbers, I figured GH would be number 1, I cant believe OLTL is at the bottom.

LOL - let's hope JER doesn't wrap up the story by having Jack either "kill himself" or fake his death and disappear offscreen so Jenn/Frankie can heat up. There is only so much that this fan can take!

Glad to see ATWT didn't have the big day to day ratings difference it's had in the last few weeks. The week was pretty consistent in viewers.

Wow, even I'm shocked at the AMC thing. That's pretty sad considering the great efforts by the cast, directors and associate writers. But I blame McTavish because there was no build-up. Maybe if we'd seen Di and Palmer really bonding, Tad and Di really falling in love there would have been more emotional pull? Other than JR, I didn't feel anything.

They were some good shows though so I'm shocked there wasn't even some minimal increase.

Am I happy the ratings didn't go up? NO! The actors worked their butts off. But if it moves us any closer to getting rid of McTavish, so be it. She has to be removed the top writing spot. She can even stay in some other capacity. But she should not be in charge of long term story arcs. There was something significant missing from the Di story and that's why despite the great acting all around, alot of people just didn't care.

Well, I don't want to hear people complain when Days goes back to sci-fi crap again because people sure aren't watching it right now when it is traditional and good. Although I wouldn't be too worried since nothing really happened last week. November will be better when stories start to move (Carrie returning, the Alex reveal). I mean the last couple weeks little things have been happening (Shimi kiss, the Jack is dying reveal) that have kept the viewers tuned in but last week there was really no movement.

Ditto all of that. As much as I have been loving DAYS and thinking it's been excellent, nothing is really happening, I guess. There's entertaining scenes from day to day, though. I wasn't expecting any gains last week by any means, but I wasn't expecting this much of a drop. The show has been excellent, but nothing to bring in viewers or increase viewers. Shimi were so hot last week.

Maybe Jolena fans tuned out because of the divorce talk?

I guess those Neilsen watchers don't like the new stories on DAYS?

It depends on your point of view, I think. Last week you had Belle's mini breakdown, Shimi getting closer, Lucas and Sophie, more Jack dying, more Alex and Marlena (no movement there), Austin's new business, and lots of Sami/Austin.

If you don't like these s/l's, then why bother watching.

Although the performances have been good, the storylines have been weak. I dont care about Shimi or Lucas/Sophie and Jack's dying storyline is absurd. And how many times do I have to see Alex trying to get into Marlena's room? Austin/Sami I do like.

I agree Toups. The current storylines are not Reilly's but Corday's.

Days fans tend not to watch when the show is traditional. I remember back in 92 or 93 not sure what year and Days ranked 8th amoung soaps and the storylines were tradional at the time. When Days is more sci-fi is when the ratings go up!

Well. if Austin didnt give Days the boost they were hoping for, I dont think Carrie will either. I think they will go up(ratings) but then level off. If the ratings go up at all.
