Booed film brings JLo to tears...

Jennifer Lopez was on the verge of bursting into tears at the screening of her new film Bordertown, and the critics' response may have had something to do with it.

Critics have panned the film, with dialogue and massive plot holes cited as major problems, and at a screening at 57th Berlinale International Film Festival in Berlin, the ending was booed.

In Bordertown, Lopez plays an ambitious reporter from Chicago who travels to Mexico on an assignment she hopes will get her a cherished overseas posting at her newspaper. At first cynical and self-serving, her character becomes increasingly concerned by the disappearance of hundreds of women whose graves are unearthed with alarming regularity, while the task of uncovering the truth becomes more and more dangerous.

The first ominous signs came at the press screening on Thursday afternoon, when the film was booed by the audience, apparently annoyed that director Gregory Nava had decided to make a B-movie thriller out of such a tragedy. Then there were boos during the official premiere on Thursday evening, and applause at the end was muted. J-Lo looked visibly upset.

Glad her egotistical bubble was burst. She was probably sure that this was a guaranteed Oscar role, and the rude awakening blindsided her.

Boo hoo.

I think she should be crying at all that awful plastic surgery she's decided to have instead.

I agree, why should we take JOY in others' suffering?! I, for one, would like to go on the record saying I feel VERY sorry for her. Poor, pathetic, pitiful thing! :(

I feel no pity. She should be lucky she has a career at all after Gigli.

Aw...poor JLo. :(

The critics were very unprofessional by booing the movie.

Anyway, I still like Jennifer. Always liked her music.....which reminds me....gonna download a bunch of her old songs. :)

Thanks, Toups.

It was very unprofessional how the critics behaved. They're ANIMALS!

So basically, if someone shows a dislike of something, they're animals.

Alky, I think you're missing the point.

The whole point is, at your job, you behave a certain way.

They didn't behave 'a certain way.'

Whether or not it was a good movie, their job was just to WRITE about it. NOT boo at it.

They're ANIMALS.

No, I get your point.

They were jeering more than just the movie. They were jeering the director for making a mockery of a real tragedy that occurred.

I would do the same.
