Britney Spears in and out of rehab?

It might be one of the shortest and most contested rehab stints ever. Britney Spears, whose wild behavior in recent weeks has led friends and family to urge her to seek help, checked into — and promptly out of — a rehab facility, reports People.com.

But Access Hollywood claims to have confirmation that Spears was never in rehab. People, however, reports that Spears, 25, checked herself into Eric Clapton's Crossroads Centre in Antigua "two or three days ago," but left after one day and headed to Florida.

TV's Extra first reported that Spears was in rehab. TMZ.com said she had checked into and out a day later. Ok! reported that after a hard-partying weekend in New York City, Spears checked into a Bahamas facility on Wednesday, stayed for two days and is now on her way to Los Angeles.

Neither Spears' publicist nor manager returned phone calls seeking confirmation.

Earlier this week, Spears' former personal assistant, Felicia Culotta, wrote in an email to thatotherblog.com that Spears' friends and family were trying to get her help, but could not convince her.

Until Britney confirms this herself, I refuse to believe it.

I'm sick of hearing about paris, lindsay, britney and nicole. Why the press find these women so fascinating is beyond me.

While I feel that Britneys behavior should change, I do feel for her, and the countless others, who cant seem to take a s**t without paparazzi looming over the stall to get that "exclusive picture".

The only one I DON'T feel for is Paris. That media whore goes to the opening of an envelope if it means staying in the gossip pages.

If she did go to rehab and checked out a day later, maybe it was because she forgot her underwear.

I feel sorry for her. She is another example of what happens when instant fame grabs a young child without smart parents.

It's very sad to think of what America is coming too. Certainly doesn't paint a very rosy outlook on the future of our country does it?
