Sami was raped by EJ. She's pregnant and Lucas doesn't know it could be EJ's. EJ doesn't know, and only Sami knows it could be EJ's, she hasen't told anyone about the rape.

Yep, Nick lost his virginity to Billie.

Maxie was forced in there to get the suitcase that they're holding hostages for.

Nope, Liz is still lyin' about the baby.

Sami wasn't raped by EJ. It's a basis of opinion. EJ forced Sami to get him safely through a police roadblock right after he shot John and wanted to get out of Salem. Meanwhile, Lucas was trapped unerneath a beam in a cabin and Sami needed help to remove the beam from Lucas' leg. EJ was the only person to help, but in order for him to help save Lucas' life, Sami had to sleep with him. Yes, EJ had a gun with him, but he only used it to threaten her to get her to help him. He put the gun away when he told her to sleep with him, so he didn't techincally force her to sleep with him. Sami chose to sleep with EJ in order to save Lucas' life.

Now, she's pregnant and doesn't know who the daddy is. Sami hasn't told EJ yet.

Billie was down in the dumps over Steve choosing Kayla. She turned to the bottle and Nick came at the right time. He offered a shoulder to cry on, and then some. Chelsea came in at the last minute, but didn't catch Billie and Nick. Chelsea knows that her mother had a one-night stand with some guy, but she doesn't know the identity.

It's a matter of law that Sami was raped. The fact that EJ put the gun away did not suddenly give her the ability to consent. You cannot stick a gun in someone's face one moment and then pretend that the weapon is no longer a factor 5 minutes later.

And I should point out that Sami herself believes she was raped.

I don't care what Sami believes. She could have left at any given time. EJ would never have hurt her. He loves this woman. Sami could have left and Lucas could have died. End of story. Sami chose to save Lucas' life by sleeping with EJ. There was consent there.

Anyway, it's difference in opinions and you're not going to agree with me and I'm not going to agree with you. That debate was settled weeks ago. Why bring the argument back up?

Sami did try to leave the car as soon as she seen it was EJ. He grabbed her, pulled her back in, and waved the gun in her face.

As for the rest of the arguement, I am sorry but as a woman it makes me physically ill that some may think this way. If I am understanding correctly, as long as you hold something over a woman's head and she feels she has no choice but to sleep with you it is not rape. To me it was the same as if man said do it or you (someone) else dies. If the case were Ej saying sleep with me or I will kill you, and Sami said fine, are you still inferring it was not rape because she agreed to it?

I don't want to cause an argument but how is this not rape? He pulled a gun on Sami and said sleep with me or I won't help you save Lucas. Even if he put the gun away during the act of sex (which wasn't shown on screen so who really know what happened) he did pull a gun on her to initiate sex under violent and coersive circumstances. He manipulated Sami into doing something she had already said NO to doing by saying he'd let Lucas die. Just because she agreed to her terms doens't mean she consented to sex with him. He coersed Sami into having sex, with a gun and with the promise of her lover's death. He then made Sami help him escape the authorities to further silence her because now she was implicated in a crime.

So while it is not rape in the traditional sense it is still a rape. The way I see it, Sami didn't have a choice and that is what rape is. For all Sami knew if she said no she could have been killed too. He did have a gun! Sami shouldn't be ashamed of her actions and shouldn't hide them from Lucas. That part of the plot is lame. The real power in this plot is Sami, the queen of mean, was completely dehumanized and victimized. Yep, she was raped even if he wasn't pointing the gun to her head during the actual deed.

oaky so iw atched all this [!@#$%^&*] on youtube now and this is what i think as for the sami was she or wasnt she raped thing.

no, i dont think sami was raped. he ej had a gun and he used it to threten her to get him out of town, however he put it away and never brought it up at all when he told sami to sleep with him. sami chose to sleep with him, she had an option, he wasnt gonna kill her and i truly dont think she belived he was gonna kill her. he never forced himself on her and didnt stop or anything. he gave her an option. it was fucked up and all, but she still chose to sleep with him.

and this is comming from a diehard lumi fan.

and as for nick/billie... that was kinda hot!!

Did Sami want to have sex with EJ? No she didn't. He told her he would help her save Lucas' life but only if she had sex with him. She didn't want to have sex with him and he said have sex with me or I won't help you save the man you love and he will die. In what universe is that not rape?

Seriously. In what book does it say "Rape is sex by force. Unless the gun is put away and not seen during the violation."?

Sami was coerced and forced into doing something she did not want to do. She said no, was trapped inside a car with a man who had a gun with no one close-by.

now, im not saying he has to have a gun to her head, but i dont think she thought any harm would come to her if she didnt have sex with him. she had a choice, and she chose to sleep with him. ik, maybe if it was on a soap like y&r id feel diff, but this is days, and with that i feel like everythings diff.

now i feel for sami, i do, but i just dont feel she was raped. now with allen, that was diff.

    • I think they’re desperately trying to cover his awful tattoos. But anyway them being unable to style short kings properly has been a major pet peeve of mine for a while now.  I honestly don’t understand what some people expect from actors to even begin considering them for recognition. Let’s be real—awards mostly mean that an actor is respected by their peers and has some level of cultural relevance. Actual judgment on the acting itself? That’s often secondary—highly subjective and shaped by the times. I completely agree on both points. If you’re an actor or a dancer you shouldn’t get any tattoos (sorry not sorry). Tomas’ tattoos are ugly too. And regarding the couples- you’re completely right. These writers are unable to write romance.   Further comments: - Kat cannot be this dumb to keep tampering with evidence over and over again. And I’m officially not a fan of the actress—every time she’s in a scene with Leslie, she doesn’t seem intimidated at all. She plays it like comic relief, which is just too much, especially when paired with Leslie’s histrionics and over-the-top antics. Leslie is older, dangerous, and has literally been portrayed as homicidal—Kat should be at least a little scared. • I also didn’t like Kat playing damsel in distress with the hotel manager. It gave off the same weird energy as Dani with the cop. I would’ve much preferred the version Paul Raven suggested, with her sneaking in through housekeeping. • And yes, Dani again accused Hayley of faking the pregnancy—this time even specifying she might be using a pillow under her shirt. (No fake miscarriage being mentioned) I stand by my take: this is ridiculous writing. No one in the real world—except us, the chronically online soap watchers—would even think of such a conspiracy theory. Haley is no Beyoncé. • What in the world was Chelsea wearing in her hair the other day? And this whole thing with Madison is beyond cringe. Chelsea’s coming off as needy and toxic—basically like every other Dupree. • I’m glad the casino storyline is moving forward, but it’s still boring as hell. Honestly, I’d be so here for a plot twist where Vanessa and Doug take Joey out. • The direction and editing lately have been rough. Abrupt cuts, weird pacing… something just feels off overall. There’s a strange uneasiness to how it’s all coming together. • And finally: Tomas is too much of a saint. Where are the messy sluts when you need them? (Vanessa doesn’t count.)
    • I was watching some August 1987 episodes and they brought back so many memories. I had some thoughts: Lisa and Jamie were so dull. Lisa was such a nothing character. It boggles my mind that so much story was centered around her in such a short amount of time. Joanna Going is a talented actress, but the material was just not there.  It was so good to see Wallingford and Mitch again. I know there was talk about Felicia a while back, but these episodes reminded me how integral Felicia was for the show.  Sally Spencer was done so dirty. She is turning in superb performances in an icky storyline. I wish she had stuck around longer. She has chemistry with everyone. The McKinnons should have lasted longer. Spencer had some strong stuff with Stephen Schnetzer and Mary Alexander. AW waster such a talented actress by getting rid of her. Justice for Cheryl too. I also missed Ed Fry when he left. Sandra Ferguson was a star from the moment she came on. She was charismatic and just popped. She had immediate chemistry with RKK and blended in well with Wyndham and Watson. I'd forgotten about the teenage Matthew.  I have no memory of Peggy Lazarus. She must not have lasted long. Was the original plan for John that he was going to turn out to be the twins' real father?
    • If the new and improved copies that @rsclassicfanforever has uploaded can be manually moved into the "by month, by year" folders, that would be awesome. I personally don't think it's necessary to keep the older versions (which either have Dutch subtitles hard coded on them, or are lesser in picture quality). That's a lot of valuable drive space that could be cleared. Just my view but can appreciate others may feel differently. The structure had been by month by year previously, so I think it would be easier to conform to that, where so much prior work to get it to that format has already been done. Hopefully you can "drag and drop" so the new copies are in the right month/year? Re Clips, I never look at them now we pretty much have the episodes in full. Appreciate others may use, however. Thanks for all your hard work here @BoldRestless!
    • Oh yes defintely, Josh Griffith repeats and repeats the same storylines.
    • Isnt’t this storyline similar to the Cameron Kirsten situation though? Sharon thought she killed him. He ended up being alive and Sharon was being tormented with thinking she was seeing his face everywhere and that’s how we got that iconic scene with her and Nikki in the sewers.   I understand in Mariah’s case this is different circumstances but it does seem like a play on that whole thing. Maybe I’m wrong. I just wish if they were going to make any character follow in Sharon’s foot steps it would be Faith. Mariah wasn’t even raised by her, and her personality is different. I would expect her to take a different path. I understand I could be completely jumping ahead because the storyline hasn’t even played out yet but we’ll see.
