February 4, 200719 yr Member Okay, who else saw "The Dakota Fanning Show" tonight on SNL? This became an instant classic as far as I'm concerned. KILL THAT ANNOYING TARGET WOMAN off the show. (Not the actress, just the character). She's not funny, she acts like NOTHING I've ever seen at Target. Poehler, on the other hand, was phenomenal as Dakota Fanning, and I love her adult sidekick, who is depicted as being talked down to by Dakota. Was his name Reggie? ha...I loved it. PLEASE MAKE THIS A RECURRING FEATURE, SNL. i'm begging you.
February 4, 200719 yr Author Member Oh, my. Drew Barrymore was also laugh-out-loud funny with her character as the girl who gets "nervous" during interviews. I nearly busted a gut at how it kept escalating. How she called the women "[!@#$%^&*]es," how she drew the penis, how she apologized for it and insinuated that the women bosses could be trannies, how she splashed the drink everywhere...it was FLAWLESS. What a great actress! She SOLD it.
February 4, 200719 yr Member It hasn't aired here yet but I loved Phoeler's impersonation of Barbara Boxer when SNL did a recap of the Barbara Boxer vs. Condoleezza Rice testimony on her confirmation to Secretary of State...she was hilarious!
February 4, 200719 yr Author Member Oh, Devoted, please watch it when it comes on. Your'e going to love it, I think. I hope. I know I sure did! It was inspired casting, top notch writing and HUGELY funny.
February 4, 200719 yr Member Perez Hilton put the Dakota Fanning scene on his website if you missed out. It was HILARIOUS - Amy did a great job.

February 4, 200719 yr Member It really was hysterical!! Most of the show was laugh-out-loud funny. The 80's porn/aerobic workout was SOOO out there. I love it when they do random skits like that. The interview skit was great, and of course Dakota Fanning was spot-on. Glad I'm not the only one who finds her more than a little creepy. LOL The highlight for me was the return of Donatella Versace. WOOOO!!! And Horatio came back to reprise Elton John. Awesomeness!!! Oh, and I like the Target lady. Yeah, it's a little redundant, but the 'secret code' and 'APPROVED!!' makes me laugh every time.

I had the show on THE WHOLE hour and a half and -- nothing. OF course, for some reason, I never was taken with the Donatella skits. I remember playing on SON when that came on last night. I was totally drowning it out with SON. Oops! Anyway, yes, the '80s workout was a gem -- and so authentic looking too! Often, when sitcoms try that retro look, they fail MISERABLY. But SNL was spot on. From the tacky graphics to the workout outfits to the imperfections in the video tape (the lines in it) and then the muffled sound...it was FAB!

I screamed out loud when he appeared out of nowhere as Elton John. It was SO great!! I know there are a lot of people who don't care for Horatio, but I just love him!! Oh, and Prince was on the Donatella show too, but he randomly disappeared. LOL!! Donatella explained her long absence from the show on being in rehab to "quit drinking, quit smoking, and to learn how to stop saying GET OUT." LMAO!! I wonder how many ladies had those aerobics tapes? I have a couple that were exactly like that. Even down to adjusting the tracking for a better picture. LOL!! I always wondered how the heck those women were getting a workout. And true to form, they have Kristin Wiig sweating while gyrating, and the Amy, the lower-impact person is basically swaing back and forth. Hilarious!! I'm so glad I have this on Tivo. It's definitely one of the best shows this season!!
