I think the hate for Josh would have done a total 180.

I'm glad you enjoyed it but they didn't have to make Dixie's death about that flippin white trash b*tch. She is sickening and I hope throws her and her trashy ass mom out on their asses and go back to the trailor that they crawled out of. They are not needed on the show and important characters like Dixie are being scarificed for this trash.

Ohhhhh I have never been so mad at a show in all my life. I'm mad about Dixie but more mad about the end of the show. What a [!@#$%^&*] slap in the face that was - to let Dixie find out about Kate after she dies.

Ohhhhhh man don't ever let me see MMT or Julie Carruthers on the street. Damn I am so mad.

That's the thing. Okay, so they want to kill her, fine. I wanted to see her drive off that cliff again for over a year.LOL But like this? This even disgusts me. It's not so much that they did it, it's how, why and how fast they did it. She only ever got to hold Kate once, that's sick. After everything T&D went through, they deserved ONE scene with that child as her daughter. The T&D fans didn't deserve this. :(

Because that was Tad and Dixie's one dream, to have a child together. And for that child to be a little girl. Their little girl. They already lost Bess. That was brutal. Their fans were tortured and tormented for 18 years, and got NOTHING out of it. Not one scene of T&D with their long awaited daugther. They got Dixie seeing her after she died. Not getting to tell Tad, or Kate's brothers (who when they were little boys wanted a little sister more then anything), etc.

It's the same thing as Josh being alive. It's a slap in the face to everything that the fans of AMC watch for. History was disrespected yet again, for a cheap plot point stunt.

Wow, I completely disagree, lol.

I would have been REALLY bad had they NEVERlet her find out about Kate.

But at least this was closure. And frankly, maybe I'm just a new viewer, but it was more than that. Because I had NO idea that girl would end up being Kate, so it was like a big reveal too! I mean, I knew it was either Emma, her or a new, unseen girl, but not for sure. So you get a revelation, closure and the warm feeling knowing that Dixie is watching her daughter from above, and hello, SHE sent the snowflakes? Didn't you all get that? That was just the coolest soap thing EVER!

I'm seriously miffed at how this moved me so much and some people are acting like it's the end of the world. (No offense).

That might be because you're a little more detatched from the situation then the those of us who have years of AMC under our belts. If you saw T&D lose Bess, even me, someone who did a happy dance when Dixie "died" the first time....know how much Kate meant to them and their fans. T&D are a staple of AMC, a part of the show's long history.

And this being done to them, as Josh was forced upon Erica, is just another sign of how the fans and what AMC used to mean to us, means nothing to ABCD anymore. Our show is being destroyed.

No offense but when a pivitol character gets killed to prop the trailor trash, I think they have more than a right to voice their opinion. This is a slap in the face to TnD fans. They have been waiting years for everything to come full cirlce and she gets killed. Its a total let down.

ICAM! Well said.

LMFAO... yep, Kylie... no, that death wasn't well written. It was given the bum's rush. Even the actors looked shell shocked. They gave you FLASHBACKS... that's what you're loving. THE PAST. Not what they gave you today. Not the single scene where Dixie touches JR & Jamie's shoulders and they "feel" her... not where she has to traipse across town in her Victoria's Secret Angel garb to find Tad who is shell shocked in the park pulling a quarter out of Kate's ear. And for we T&D fans who have waited EIGHTEEN years for T&D to have a daughter... it was certainly NOT well written that what we get instead is a dead person seeing her daughter and knowing she will NEVER hold her and know that. Kate will never know her mommy and Dixie will only know Kate if she uses the big ole spy glass in the sky. Tad is an empty shell now and the show has a giant gaping hole in it gushing blood. Any momentary ratings rise from this event, will fade because the engine that drove it was just decommissioned. And only revving that up again will bring me back to this show.

I want Dixie back!

Anyway... [insert my usual pleading about wriging in here] visit us on http://www.TadNDixie.com for all the names and addresses of the guity parties.

I also cried, especially at the ending.

Josh needs to just shut the hell up. Jointstrikerfighter, you seriously believe a fetus that was aborted under 3 months could be implanted into another woman in 1973? If you're still in school, pay more attention in science, if not, try subscribing to Discover magazine and learn more about it. Then, you'll get part of the outrage at Erica's Unabortion. Even if you oppose abortion, for long-term fans, this was the biggest and most pointless rewrite of history AMC has ever had.

As far as Dixie's death, the flashbacks just reminded me how much humor, love, and heart this show used to have that has been missing for the past few years. Cady, Michael Knight, and all us long-term fans deserved so much better than this. I believe it was Rugrat/Angela who said if Tad & Dixie's reunion were written correctly, they could have raised the ratings while searching for their daughter together. That seems so obvious yet TIIC just don't get it. This is the one storyline that kept me tuning in after the show fired Julia Barr. Now, there is nothing worth watching.

SteveFrame, if you do see Julia Hanan Carrruthers or Megan McT on the street, feel free to spit in their faces for me. :P

Ahh yes, that was 2001. Thanks for the correction.

Haha - it was cheesy, but I kinda liked how they incorporated Opal into that storyline. I think that was probably her last major 'storyline' or 'role' for AMC. She actually had a purpose there...

Anyway I still think that if they HAD to kill Dixie like this, they should bring back Gillian, Jesse, Jeremy, and since Kate is already back for Janet, she could do Natalie...and we could get another couple of months of Heaven scenes with Dixie/Gillian watching over Tad/Kate. It's the LEAST they could do for this [!@#$%^&*]slap to my face.

We could see Gillian looking over Ryan for awhile and a blessing to Ryan/Annie and see him happy with his children (then maybe I could get my Ryan-love back).

    • sss Ms. Tunie is a goddess. I feel all the anger, pride, sadness, arrogance, dignity, fear, love, and other emotions in everything she does as Anita.
    • You're right. People like me who stuck with her, did so because of her history. The show just skated her along with no story,  no goal, no aim. Right again! This is who I forgot before. When you describe her, it makes me appreciate her more. Thinking back I loved Mandy.
    • Maybe Guza is becoming Y&R Head writer and Jilly will be named EP! Remember CBS installed Latham as consultant and later Mal Young, both of whom took over the show. Of course, they each got credit during the consulting days.
    • Don't forget Carrie, who as Carrie2 was screwing everything in pants, and PPD Reva, who to either get back at Josh for his supposed affair with Vanessa (or just to prove she's more desirable than Van) tries to screw half the male population.
    • Post-production isn't exactly akin to sweeping the floors, but it makes more sense given her CV.  And, it would invalidate any concerns that she has an undo influence on the creative process, as opposed to visual and sound design of the show.  In fact, given her interests, it makes sense that she would want to consult and see the impact of newer technology in a post-production facility.  I could only imagine how much has changed in sound technology since she worked on SB, and that might be intriguing to utilize. As well as their impending move (not as soon as B&B, but we all know it will happen) and helping set up post-production at the new facility.
    • The last five or so episodes of season 8 after the Jean Hackney story ended were pretty strong with the Laura/Val friendship breakdown, Ben's PTSD with Val trying to help him, and the start of Jill realizing that Val was as much of a threat to her happiness with Gary as Abby was. I always thought that the Jean Hackney story should have ended at mid season at the latest... and then deal with the fall-out because seeing Ben/Val switch roles with Ben in mental decline instead of Val would have been interesting to explore.  And seeing Val and Laura's friendship suffer also was interesting and should have been explored especially with Karen caught in the middle and Abby both intrigued and amused at the conflict that she didn't cause. However, season 8 was the only Latham run season where Val was well written.
    • Well, she's not in there sweeping the floors at the end of the night, and you don't bring in an award-winning producer to just sit on their backsides (or hey, maybe you do!). Again, without knowing the specific capacity she's in there working as⏤and it seems as if we are not going to at the present time⏤it's hard to speculate/discuss. I would interpret she's in a role that either would not require being credited, or she's, as others have speculated, is back and not receiving credit for the work she's done. That'd be like saying, per the WGA, all writers must be credited, but as we've seen by those who've worked as fi-core, they don't always receive credit.

And, if my research is correct, per the DGA, you can request not to be credited for work you do. I could only assume the same would be for the PGA, as well.
    • When Anita read Barbara's letter, it started out with the viewers hearing it in Barbara's voice as Anita read silently. And then Anita saying the next portion aloud while Barbara's voice continued simultaneously. And then ending with Anita alone saying the last part aloud. Excerpt from interview  (link to full interview) The rest may be spoilerish -- Only the nonspoiler part here: I love the idea of reading that letter,” shares Tunie. “And at one point in the script, I think it said that my voice joined her, and [Anita] started reciting the letter from memory because [she] memorized this letter. I suggested to Steve Williford, our director, ‘What if it’s like that moment in Hamilton when Hamilton is writing the resignation letter to George Washington, and then he starts saying it too, and then Hamilton’s voice fades away, and then it’s all George. What if we do something like that?’ And he was like, ‘Oh, my God! I just got chills. Let’s do it!’ So, we did it.” I understood that it worked really well, so I’m really happy about that.”
    • I think MVJ and Guza made a good team in the launching of the soap, and I'm hoping that the rotation of all stories and characters is maintained once he officially departs from the credits. And so far, Ron C's breakdowns have been decent... but they pop only when he's paired with a good script writer like Jazmin.   I hope once Guza leaves officially... that MVJ is able to reign in Ron C and the dread Jamey G.
    • I read that, but my interpretation was that she is uncredited because it is in a non-production capacity.  In others words, she's not secretly producing, or writing, as some had speculated prior to the confirmation. Her likeliest position would be in a post-production consultant capacity. I assume we agree on this?
