Jack arrests Carly

Simon goes on the lam this week on ATWT, forcing Jack to slap the cuffs on Carly.

"Jack knows Simon and Carly committed this crime," says MP, who plays the cop. "He tried to convince Carly to stay away from Simon. If she didn't associate with him, the investigating officers would just be looking at Simon. But I guess the draw was too intense."

You can say that again. Carly even warns Simon that Jack is closing in, so Simon hightails it to Henry's suite. Hence, all Jack finds in Simon's room is Carly's earring (because she was just there making love to the Aussie).

"He's done with her," declares Park. "If it was just Jack, sure, he'd hide the evidence. He's done it in the past. But he's got no choice. Way too many people know about [the heist]. Katie knows about it, Mike knows about it. Everybody is in on this. So he's got to follow through and arrest her. I feel bad for the kids."

Simon runs and Carly left for jail. Explosive I think not.Simon always run and the woman he was invovle with is left the fallout. First Lily then Katie plenty of times and now Carly.

Winterguy

JP explosive is having the mother of 3 kids turn on them for a grown 30 something man. Ain't love grand. James Stenbeck need to come back and kipnapp JP.

Look at the bind Carly in. Cost her her kids and a man who really love her and most of all her freedom. Many told her Simon will destory her life. Did she really think if she told Simon to go that he wouldn't. She thought his love for her was real. Real dumb I say.

LoL

Oakdale is filled w/ criminals who've either escaped serving jail-time (Emily, Paul, Dusty, Simon, etc.) or just got released (Craig and Iris), yet Carly gets caught. Finally!

I hope MW takes a long maternity leave. I think we could all do w/ a break from Carly (too bad she couldn't take Katie w/ her). Hopefully, when she returns, the writing will be much better (**crosses fingers**)

I've read rumors that Maura West will be gone for 6 months, but you know how net rumors are

*yawn* And this spoiler doesn't interest me. I believe I even called it in a thread a month or so ago :P ATWT has become so predictable... :( ....I miss the ATWT of old.

I wouldn't be too surprised if MW took a 6 month leave. This is her 4th child, right? It's going to be a lot of work w/ 3 kids and a newborn. Besides, I think that Carly being off-screen is the best way to redeem the character. A lot of Carly fans were really turned away by this storyline w/ Simon. Since I have absolutely no faith in the writing, I'm sure that they would have wrecked the character even more, just like they have to so many other characters. The best thing is to just go away for some time, and then come back...w/ hopefully a better writing team (wishful thinking, I know.)

Even if Carly paying for her crimes is just an excuse to get Maura off the show while she's on maternity leave, that's fine by me. I'd love it if Emily did a little jail time too. It doesn't have to be a long time. Craig wasn't gone for long and neither was Iris, but at least they appeared to "pay the price" for their crimes, in jail, not by losing a baby (Emily) or something in that realm.

    • My hunch is what you've described. JFP is likely back working on transitioning the show to a new studio and embracing new technology for its production model.
    • The woman who was the co-chair of Latinas for Trump is now complaining about his targeting immigrants that she thought were "safe." I also read a puff piece from yet another "insider" journalist who lives to normalize fascists - this one with a tech bro who was venting off the record because he thought voting for Trump was cool and would show up the Democrats and maybe we'd get Greenland, but now he's getting upset.  These people still support Trump, and Republicans, they just want to make sure they get credit for being respectable. And they will get it.
    • I really do wish someone could. Just a few characters in very simple backdrops, with very real problems that are just a little larger than life, like the '50s and '60s. All the characters having a level of dignity or respect. And their inner lives are what dominate the story, even if there are outside forces at play.
    • It's a lesson to never be loyal because once your use is up, you're shown the door. MSW was the only bright spot for CBS for awhile, and once they were back on top... they promptly sabotaged the show as a repayment for all that the show had done for the network.
    • The show made a mistake in not bringing in more McKinnon kids, specifically bringing back Ben. Kathleen was leaving, and while I like you am very fond of Sally Spencer as MJ, that didn't seem to be a common view. They also decimated the character in a truly sick storyline. So that just left Cheryl.
    • Between Gwen and Cat, the show often seems to side with those who cause lots of cruelty to Jack and Jennifer. I am half-surprised that the show hasn't brought Peter Blake back for more of the same.  I don't really know if there is a purpose for them in Salem now, but I do feel a sense of stability and rightness when Melissa Reeves is back in the role of Jennifer and back in the Horton house, in spite of...well, a lot of offcamera stuff we all know perfectly well.
    • I like to call her an FC-reject character

    • I’m sensing you’re not really a John Black fan from your posts. This has been some of the best soap Days has done in many years but you seem completely opposed to it lol.
    • The John Black character has been a part of my life for decades. I like heroes being honored, however imperfect they may be.  I'm glad they are giving him a long farewell and tribute.
    • Annie Dutton was anything, but sane when she was introduced.  She was very tortured and looked like she was on the verge of tears when she was first introduced.   While people, and writers, made it seem as though Annie lost her mind because of Josh.. I truly think that Annie had a lot of untreated mental issues that didn't manifest until her marriage to Josh. Sonni was also anything, but strong when she was first introduced either.   Claire in 1983 was a complete 180 from the Claire that we got in 1986... and I do agree that her character was degraded.
