SOW Scoops

Week of Dec. 18: JR and Babe edge closer.

Ryan and Annie kiss.

Binks learns more about Zarf.

Krystal has a (Santa) Claus for Adam.

Zach wants Tad to investigate him.

Can't Miss: Thursday, Dec. 21: Zach's Christmas surprise stuns Kendall.

Week of Dec. 25: Tad makes a Christmas wish. Zach admits his fears to Bianca. Josh challenges Kendall to tell Ryan the truth.

AMC's Christmas Miracle is that Jamie and Julia take in little Kathy (whose father died and whose mother is gravely ill), who is Kate, and neither J&J nor T&D know it yet.

2006 Hits and Misses

AMC: Hit: Always Bet on Zach (and Kendall)

What's not to love about Zendall? He's a scruffy casino boss with a yen for rescuing damsels in distress; she's his dead son's ex-lover who was impregnated via sperm donor to serve as an incubator for her infertile best friend. Thorsten Kaye and Alicia Minshew have undeniable chemistry, and have played their characters' throughline perfectly as two flawed people who together have grown into much more than the sum of their parts. With romance pretty much out the window in Pine Valley (Hi, JR!), fans demanded AMC roll the dice with Zendall, and the show finally did: Jackpot!

Miss: Freak-of-all-trades

When you start a story by unaborting a baby from 1973, it's obvious everything's wild--and Josh is definitely the Joker. This empty character switched careers faster than he switched wombs, becoming a Frankenstein's monster of doctor/producer/carpenter/businessman who exists only to plug plot holes. ("Quick, we need an astronaut/Indian chief! Get Colin over to Wardrobe!") When he wasn't getting peed on by JR, Josh was getting naked with Babe in a kiddie pool. Talk about a character who is all wet.

----------------------------------------------------------------

Performer of the Week: AH

Mail Bag: one pro-T&D letter, one pro-BAM/anti-Barf letter. Also, "Thanksgiving in Pine Valley was great. More Erica and Brooke, please!"

Viewers Voice question for this week: Who do you think is killing off the Fusion women?

Under Winners and Losers: Loser: Kendall. She wasn't there for her son's first picture with Santa--with another family.

AM on the subject of regifting: "I love it. It's fantastic. (laughs). Let's be honest here: If you have something that's brand-new, really cool and kick-ass but you know you're not going to use it and that someone else would, why not? Unless it's from your sister, best friend or boyfriend!"

SID:

The Unstoppable Slaters

Speaking of that love, there’s still a whole lot of romance going on in town. Perennial audience favorites Kendall and Zach “Have found their romantic destiny. They have lived together their troubles, and they are together,” the scribe promises (Bee – just fell off the chair). When a problem threatens the Slaters’ happiness, “this is not them separating to fight a battle,” McTavish says “I think you will see a difference “The couple’s united front will give fans the opportunity to see the makeup exec and the casino owner work together rather than at odds. “Kendall has found her destiny in Zach, and she’s not about to lose it”, she says, giving Zendall enthusiasts a final reassurance” “Kendall has come home to Zach, and she is home to stay”

December was a month filled with destinies of all kinds for Pine Valley Residents: some good, some deadly! Will the start of 2007 signal a fresh start – or a “New beginning” to put it in Erica-speak – for your AMC favorites? Keep reading to find out what HW MMT has to say about the soap’s near future!

Danger Lurks!

As the town continues to cope with Simone and Erin’s unexpected deaths, it becomes clear that the serial killer isn’t quite done terrorizing PV! To combat the darkness, look for the goodwill of the holiday season to extend into the new year. “First of all, you will see the Fusion women strong, banding together, not giving in to fear,” MMT says, adding “To my mind, the danger in the serial killer story highlights the values that our families have and their desire to protect them.” Not to mention, when the stakes are life and death – literally – everything else gets heightened as well. The love is more glorious if you have the shadow around it.”

A new love for Ryan?

After David’s revelation that Emma is actually Ryan’s biological daughter, however, can Kendall really content herself to sharing the role Lavery’s babymama? “I think we will see Kendall struggle with that”, says MMT. Meanwhile, a grieving Ryan will take great comfort in Annie’s gentle presence. “I think there is a spark. I think, absolutely, Annie is falling in love with him.” MMT says. “As far as Annie goes, I think he sees new sides to her.” How will Ryan’s fiery ex lover react to the path his affections seem to be taking? “I think Kendall can never have enough love. And I think she’s not so sure she wants Spike to have to share his father with a little girl who might also be Ryan’s,” the scribe muses, laughing. “She’s very much like her mother in that.” As for the indomitable Ms. Kane, “I think there’s a real shot with Jack and Erica, although I would not count Jeff out” MMT teases – “I think it’s vvery interesting that Jeff and Josh sort of find themselves in the same position with 2 different women wwho, by the way, hate each other: Erica and Babe

Thanks for posting!

I'm eager to see all this play out.

I love that Julia/Jamie are playing into this Tad/Dixie/Kate thing. I like Julia being on the forefront in a story with people that were on the show in the 90's with her!

I also love the Zendall love. I like that Zach is teaming up with Tad in a friendly way and that Zach is confiding in Bianca.

"BARF"? lol - I like the 2 so far, but that's hilarious - I didn't even think about that....stupid me! lol

So I'm wondering how'll the show will celebrate New Years this year? They usually always have a good party with great twists...hope they continue the trend this year.

Thanks!

Looks like the 2007 previews are exactly what McT previewed for December. What a surprise.

And what's with the "I thinks"?...I think this, I think that. You write the stupid show McT! I hate how she attempts to sound all character-driven as if what the characters do is totally outside her control.

That description of "Josh" is bang on, rarely do the magazines get it so right.

I don't understand what the hell the point of Annie and Emma was. They hired this unfortunate looking woman to be Annie, this darling little blonde girl, and oops, it's not about Tad and Dixie at all, it's all about Ryan! This is just like stupid Di or Erin. Hire the actors to be accessories to other stories, or eliminate their original purpose, and still shove them in big stories with important characters even though it's clear they have no real purpose or center beyond the "twist," and then the show is surprised when these characters fail and end up extras in the background like Erin or Di. And that's what'll happen to Annie and Emma. Not everyone needs a "spare" like Dixie and Di, or Annie and Emma and "Linda" and "Kathy." This is so ridiculous.
