I know that many of you know the health issues I went through this year with my Mom and as her personal caregiver. I appreciated so much all the kind words that many of you gave during her illness and when she passed.

Anyway while going through all of that I was also going through another trial that I could not talk about with anyone. My youngest daughter who is 19 was diagnosed with a form of cancer. Back in April they found a series of small tumors in her neck, and they found that they were lymph nodes and that the cancer type thing was coming from her thyroid.

We went through months of not knowing anything. We went to doctor after doctor, and test after test. She finally went through a new type of radiation that took care of the tumors and the thyroid.

As of today we have learned that she is cancer free. She will be on thyroid replacement for the rest of her life, but that is better than what we originally thought. She also has some type of drops that she takes each day too. I have not fully understood those yet, but as long as it works is all I care about.

Anyway this was the best Christmas present that I could ever get. She finished up her school today for this semester. Her first full semester. I was proud that she went ahead and enrolled even with all that was going on. Now if my oldest daughter can get through the rest of her finals and get out on Friday - all the stress with gone from the house for the holidays. LOL She starts nursing school in January and will be doing clinicals at the hospital. So she is excited to finally get that far.

Steve, that is wonderful news! You just never know when your last breath will be, I bet it was so scary for you and your family. I can only imagine, I am truly glad you got this good news. Sounds like you can have better than normal Christmas now that you know your daughter is cancer free. :D
