Days: Madeup Casting News from Another Board

I copied this from Danfling's Board, and am only posting it here for it's comedy. There are so many things that are wrong - including some character names, the person obviously knew nothing of the history of soaps, and the person has cousins fighting over cousins - something Hogan promised would not happen again. However I would love if these 2 men did find work in daytime again.

Anyway here is the casting spoiler, which has to be wrong:

Here's something I cutted and pasted from another web related web site.

And I quote (Tee-hee!!),

"Internet sources report that Mickey Horton has been recast as a contract role. Although the guarantees are very low -- two to three episodes per month, he's definitely on contract and will be part of the show and the Horton family for at least the length of his contract, which is said to be three years long.

The actor's name is apparently Forrest Compton, and he was an actor in the late 1960s on Gomer Pyle USMC. One website, SoapsForRealDotCom, is reporting that Mr. Compton will be well cast as Mickey, since Compton had apparently played an attorney on a day-time soap(probably a short term thing) somewhere, way back.

According to two or three sites, Compton goes to work in mid November, and will first appear as Mickey just a few episodes before Christmas. He is set up to be the Horton elder during the show's big Christmas episode, which features several Horton's from the past as the gather to hang their own balls on Alice's tree. One source speculates that the holiday episode will feature the entire current Horton clan, plus returnees including Julie and Doug Williams Horton, Bill Horton, Laura Baldwin Horton (but there seems to be a problem with the casting, so this is tentative), Jessica Horton Blake Fallon and Nick Fallon, and Steve Bing Olsen (said to be cast with Laurence Lau).

Seems to be a whole lota Horton shakin' goin' on during the upcoming Christmas season. I'm all fer it. Apparently Mickey is on a three year contract, so he'll be popping up now and again."

unquote or disquote, or whatever. The quote is over.

Not sayin I agree with all this stuff. Not sayin I don't. But, I would love to see Julie and Jessica fighting over Steve "Bing" again. Those were the days. Or maybe I should say those were the DAYS DOOL. Tee-hee!

Why do people get so much fun out of making stuff up - I will never figure out.

knowing my days history, Julie Olsen Williams is the sister of Steve Olsen and they are the first cousins of Jessica Blake-Fallon. Laura maiden name is Spencer not Baldwin, Laura Baldwin is from GH she was Laura Webber-Baldwin-Spencer played by Genie Francis!!

Oy. I believed the first half. And then it got to the rest.

Forrest Compton was a long time castmember of EDGE OF NIGHT as attorney Mike Karr for 12 years. He would be a good Mickey Horton. Looked up his age, and Compton is 81 now.

I meant to say something about that. As I said the poster knew nothing about soap history. He said the role he played must have been limited - if you can call 12 years limited.:lol:
