Yay to Paget being back too!

I was happy to see JJ back in the finale (great shot of her legs! LOL) but I wish they didn't show AJ's name in the credits because that ruin the surprise (I didn't think she would be back until next season).

Man this season sucked big time - I think there was only one arc story (Prentiss' exit). And the individual episodes weren't interesting either.

You know, the show is going into its 7th season - they could afford to do more story arcs and character based stuff. I hope the new showrunner (Erica Messer) will make next season good.

I've never understood why we didn't see more of their lives outside the BAU. I mean we got glimpses here and there and of course the big arc with the Reaper (which I hated!!) killing Hotch's wife, but we've very rarely seen what they do when they leave work.

One of the problems with showing their outside lives is that the show needs to be consistent and I don't think they're very good at that. When Prentiss came on she was basically a mole reporting to Strauss because she wanted a job with the BAU but last season we find out she was a super deep cover agent for Interpol. Then there's Hotch's brother who we saw once and never heard from again even after his wife was murdered. We have Reid's magically disappearing headaches from this season which I guess got cured by the same thing that got rid of his Dilaudid addiction.

CM is my favorite procedural (I consider L&O:SVU a comedy now) but they suck at continuity.

And yes, big yay for the return of Paget!

In all honestly, people in that line of work probably don't have much of a personal life. It looks like we are getting a little of it this especially, so far mostly with Rossi. We have seen his house twice and now he is going to have to deal with his ex-wife and her ALS. That will bring up a whole issue because if he follows her wishes to not let her suffer after a certain point.

Bye CM! So [!@#$%^&*] done! Second consecutive year you chose to squander two hours of television, and to kill off Strauss?! Not necessary! Bastards!

Off the DVR, and I'm gonna have to find another way to get my Shemar fix! This show has been garbage for far too long!!!!!

I quickly fell of the "!@#$%^&*] CM" wagon, but I have to say that this was quite a premier. The ending was a very nice twist with a follow up this week. Twins! I will watch Wednesday and then take it week by week.

Shemar is just so damn beautiful! I hope to see him running soon with a gun in hand (wish we could find a reason to have him on horseback with a rifle - wonder who I can contact about that).

    • Thanks. I'm glad we have some fan memories of these years as this is such a typically snide take on the genre. It's also poorly written and reminds me a great deal of the tedious "snark" recaps that became popular in the '90s. The end in particular. The 1979/80 stuff I have seen is much more polished than a number of soaps at the time. It was very easy to watch and not too bogged down in past story.  Margo is played by Ann Williams, who was on what seemed like every soap. I think she said Margo was her favorite role.
    • And the rating 'wars' continue...hehe.
    • Well, it was fun while it lasted for Rebecca Herbst. Le sigh.
    • I am wholeheartedly enjoying this show. I just haven't been able to post as much as I used to. But yes, this episode needs to be submitted for the EMMYs and there needs to be wins. I better NOT see Y&R, DAYS, or B&B winning in categories over BTG. I feel like the only show that is giving BTG an ounce of competition this season is GH.
    • I never thought the day would come, but too much MM for me.
    • I think it may be that the character was brought in for a specific purpose and then became popular with viewers, and the show didn't know how to respond.  The choice to pivot away from Simon/India may show that you are right and they didn't care for her...although pairing them up may be another sign they didn't care for her. I don't connect well with this period but it does make me happy seeing some of these characters before the great purge and some of the surprises - I'd forgotten the wonderful Maureen O'Sullivan popped up to be bumped off. So typical of soaps by this point, but it doesn't grate as much as later on when Y&R would bring on any random cast member from Small Wonder. I'm also amazed at this time at just how much money the show must have had. The costumes for the Founder's celebration in summer 1984, or whatever it was, looked gorgeous.
    • Which officially started to feel that way today with them hearing each other out as they confronted each other at the same time.    Same. He was even catching himself when he was about to go overboard or do those tics that people don't seem to like. He failed a bit at the end, but he carried. It makes me think about a month back when it was discussed that the actor was better in other things he's been in. And I questioned then if that meant that he was playing Martin more intentionally. I questioned that briefly again today because he was giving.
    • I really like the actress who plays Margo. Don't know  her name. I'm so hesitant to google anyone because I don't want to know the length they were on the show. I've watched two episodes and I have to say that the show does not feel as dated as other shows. I tried to watch Ryan's Hope a few weeks back and some of the acting was a bit rough. EON is a lot more natural which amuses me considering it's a mystery/thriller show.
    • She’s INCREDIBLE. I’m so glad you enjoyed this my friend.
