This season has sucked.

Im pretty sad about that.

Which was kind of to expect given Lindelof & Cuse's interviews.

I honestly wasnt expecting some kind of epic amazing final season that answers everything, because well... i saw season 4 & 5 and knew 6 couldnt be much better. I didnt expect to have to force myself through most episodes.

The only thing that keeps me coming back is the fact that im not gonna jump [!@#$%^&*] now that its almost over. And ya know, Jack is my tv boyfriend.

WTF just happened in last night's episode? Did that really happen? Jin and Sun??? WHY!!???? :( So we watched them reunite...for one episode....and then they get killed off? And now their daughter lost both of her parents. Oh man, I don't agree with that. If it's one couple that deserved a happy ending, it was Jin and Sun. I blame Saywer! And Sayid gets killed off too.

Only a couple more episodes left. :( Though I'm glad we get a 2.5 hour finale instead of the 2 hours.

Actually them dying is one of the few moments i didnt hate this season.

Not because i hated them or wanted them dead, but it was... i dont even know the correct word here. It was in a way beautiful. He wouldnt leave her, she begged him too. But he wouldnt - couldnt. And i dont mind him not even factoring in the kid because not only has he never met her he doesnt know he will ever make it off that damn island.

Besides, Kate can raise her... lol.

I think no one was (expecting epic amazing). But this? There is so much wrong. And I feared it ever since I read about them being fans of Chase's The Sopranos finale and stuff left unexplained. They're just incompetents (not that we didn't know it before, this just confirms it).

I'm hopelessly behind in Lost, due to the person I watch it with being extremely busy recently, and it just not seeming right to watch it ahead of him, so I won't be able to discuss the finale (or even read about it) for some time. But last week's New Yorker had a great (typically long) piece about The Music of Lost (and a profile of composer Giacchino in general). It's a great read, but only available onine to subscribers--Sylph if you haven't read it and want to, I can happily copy and paste it from the digital subscribers edition.

You can see writer Alex Ross' companion video blog, for free, which analyzes the music in one scene, here http://www.newyorker.com/online/blogs/alexross/2010/05/the-music-of-lost.html

OK I uploaded the article for someone else, anyway, so I'll post it here even if Sylph has read it ;) For the record, I'd agree 100% with Abrams that the music of Lost is a *massive* part of what's made it such an effective show. It's too bad it seems like Giacchino is retiring from TV composing, even though I get how stressful it must be (2-3 days, or less, to score 35-40 minutes of music??)
