Supposedly they are 6 plus 1 out. 6 is in the can, on tape, finished. One month is in writing, been vetted, been rewritten according to notes. Personally I would hope at that point they'd toss the plus one. I doubt they know yet what they will do with little decisions like that.

I am in the process of writing a new blog on Gloria Monty. I inherited a blog on her that was pretty poorly written. Rewriting blogs that are in poor shape & maybe even badly incorrect is a thing I do. I had gotten almost finished when some thing IRL came up that caused me to have to put it to the side for a time. If not for that I probably would have been finished already. I am turning back to it now & I happened to notice 3 posts here in "Ratings from the 70s" that made me think I should ask some questions here, if that's okay with y'all. A question from bl, a post by Max & a post by titan1978. I have not framed things in terms of GM taking GH from last to first. Although I do note how much time passed under her when GH did reach #1. Instead I have framed things in terms of "She saved the show."(That there was the threat of cancelation & some amount of time available to the show to improve its standing.) I did not look at GH performance to see if it was ABC's lowest ranked soap. I realize that you all have things you're looking at that you are interested in & you may not be interested in this. This will be tedious because it's a lot of ratings. Do I need to try to find out what ABC's reason & rationale was for putting GH on the chopping block? Should I look similarly but also with an eye to where GH was with respect to the other ABC soaps specifically? I say that the set-up was a threat of cancelation & that GM was given 13 weeks, which is one business cycle, to fix the show & if it is not fixed then it will be canceled. I note that other sources list varying amounts of time without listing them. I say that this is what she is famous for & she might as well be called, one word "GloriaMontySavedGH". I list all of the changes she is said to have made to production out of Schemering. I talk about Marland & headwriting for couples. I talk about L&L, the rape, the desire to create the second supercouple & the rape having to be denied for that to happen & the rebranding as a seduction & the Writers -Marland & PFS - objections to that. I talk about what worked & how within 3 yrs they were at #1. I talk about the erosion of those top ratings & her leaving, then her return, etc. I touch on how this was probably what was needed to get GH over a hump but that in the long run, as with most EPs with mandates for change, the results did not maintain. Oh I tell about dumping a week of shows, straight out of Schemering. Oh, do I need to find out who Tom Donovan is & what he did? Does anyone see anything that I am missing? Thnx foks.

So I called Hulu & asked them why they have all of a sudden started streaming the daily GH episode in the middle of the night. Their answer was that they have no control over that, that whenever ABC shoots it to them, that is when they begin to stream it. What the heck?!! Oh, yeah, a few things to share: The wait was interminable. I was doing other things while I waited or I never would have made it. They tried to sell me Live TV with my Hulu so I could watch GH when it was on ABC. They tried to sell me the Disney bundle *before* they even answered my query! At the end they tried the Disney bundle one more time. They are taught salesmanship!

Well, if they had real Kristen story & they had Eileen to come do it for "x" period of time & then be gone again, I'd be open to that. But, this stuff with Stacy all the time is just not worth the space it takes up. She's manic. She is constantly going on. She gets away with whatever, etc. ENOUGH. And, now, I have a question. Here's my word of the day: So, did Stefano suffer calamity?! Maybe we need to check his credentials! Of course, with him being dead and all, he's probably gotten away with it.

I saw someone suggest that we should wait for the context before we judge the kiss. Ordinarily I am big on context, but I just can't think what could the context be? A kiss is a kiss.

Brook Lynn opens the show by arriving at Chase's door. She has a tall iced coffee. He answers the door, sleepy looking in only his shorts & she squeezes half her liquid out of her coffee as she reacts to how good he looks to her. About time! He is just as glad to see her. They stand and gawk at each other while we wait for them to kiss. No such luck. She recovers her voice & her agenda & says they've got to get him ready for tonight. He's singing at the Savoy. Valentin wakes up in bed with Anna & remembers the night before. Anna is just smiling. Victor sits down at the partition at prison visitation & they show Spencer in & he looks worse than we've ever seen him. At the hospital Ava is going to get discharged. She wants to talk to Liz who wants to go get her discharge papers. Nik to Finn, you went to my wife & discussed our business. He is highly charged, annoyed. Finn, looks like he could care less what Nik thinks. Nina arrives to Sonny & greets him, affectionately. He is cross, completely absorbed worrying about this hook attacker maybe going after people who are linked only by himself. Brando is dead. Ava was hurt badly. Diane is still in surgery. Hulu did not upload GH at 10 pm again last night. Uploaded in the middle of the night. Wonder what's going on. I think that it is so neat that GH has a young Autistic boy playing a young Autistic boy! Alexis & Gregory & the Invader staff are trying to draw the hook killer out into the open with articles they publish. Val & Anna would probably have stayed in bed if not for a phone call to Val. Spencer is known to be a rich kid who has protectors in the prison, so other things get done to him, like he never has clothes that fit. Finn & Nik exchange more heated words, almost come to blows, get pulled apart from each other. Nina is trying to get Ava to come home with her but Nik says they will be together. I don't understand why Ava wants to go to Wyndemere. Has feeling vulnerable because of the attack made her change her feelings about Nik & about them as a couple? I wonder.

Just saw this in the twitterverse

In an interview Marci said Emily is simply a divine scene partner or something like that, words to that effect. Just this second I was laughing with a friend about Allie telling him he was smelly! I'm just sorry that everyone doesn't love the twins the way some of us love the twins! (And then the doofus came out in just a towel!) We're screaming our heads off. They're the best comedy!

I was so uncomfortable with them bringing out the objects of torture. Has Sonny done that before?

I totally loved her with Julie this week & with Maggie last week. These scenes are something that DOOL is really good at!

I can't even imagine that! Somebody in Salem anti someone else and it not a good guy vs. bad guy thing?!! Yes, weird is the right word!

Oh. groan. I liked it so much today when Rolf was putting Kristen down & following his own counsel! The very idea that Kristen gets some comeback is enough to perk up my afternoon. Now, look at this great picture. At least she knows now! It was really messing with her head. He's not going to know Ava, right?
