Could be true. "Sisters" should take about five days to air through, "Falcon Crest" around nine-ten days. So assuming these shows are the only ones airing on the Primetime Soaps by WB channel, it would track.

I'm not sure why people keep saying that serialized dramas don't work - one of the biggest success story of recent years have been Yellowstone, which is basically a western soap opera.

Eh, I agree with @carolineg - either work around Melissa Reeves or just hire Cady permanently. I do think Jennifer is Melissa Reeves because of the amount of time she's put into the character, but I find that Cady tends to do better in long runs. It's these disjointed runs where she has to literally jump right into high stakes emotional situations that it becomes bizarre. It was the same thing when she first got on the show - the first scenes she had was to react to Hope leaving and it just came off... wrong. But she improved in that run, I just don't think she handles these in-and-out visits well and needs time to settle in the character.

Knots Landing
I loved Tonya Crowe as Olivia, but I think she gave off a very "young" energy (well, she was like 19 when she was booted off) and I think they thought it limited her. Even if she had relationships with Gary, Val and Karen, you could've never seen her seducing Greg (as an example). I mean, Greg and Paige always gave me the icks, so I'd be like Stan kissing Wendy in South Park if Olivia tried putting the moves on Greg, or any of the other older males on Knots. Michael was of course out of the equation for her. Ultimately, Linda came off as more mature (since she is 10 years older for starters) and played the role of the gold-digging skank well. For whatever reason, her and Greg never bothered me because it was never played off as tru' wuv and I could've seen her go after any male on the cast (and let's just toss Karen in there for good measure). I re-watched the series a few months ago and killing off Linda has to be one of the biggest mistakes the show did in its later years. They tried to introduce Vanessa, but the actress was... erm, not very good.

It felt like they actually did start to push Olivia in an Abby-esque direction in season 11, with being miserable in her marriage with Harold and wanting more material things. But then they just kind of sent her on her way with Harold. I think they ultimately saw more potential in Linda / Lar Park-Lincoln as the younger version of Abby, but of course that ended up being cut short with her mindless murder in season 13.

ALL: Proposed Soaps Over The Years
That explains why I couldn't find anything about the pilot being produced when I searched for it in 1985! In the 1984-85 season ABC had 29 pilots in consideration - some that did get ordered to midseason. This rather harsh article called them "clones" (which was true tbf): https://books.google.se/books?id=YXdkAAAAIBAJ&pg=PA13&dq=midas+valley&article_id=1343,841005&hl=en&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjd64HxsYWIAxVYEhAIHUFpLOQ4FBDoAXoECAoQAg#v=onepage&q=midas valley&f=false

I'd assume so too - wouldn't surprise me if they threw in Dallas there too. Since they supposedly did clear the rights to Flamingo Road at the same time they did Falcon Crest and Knots Landing, I hope that pops up.

Knots Landing
I figured they'd either return to Falcon Crest or something else. Hopefully they'll put it up on demand sooner rather than later as it might be a few weeks if they're going to circle back to FC again too (assuming they don't show other shows too).

Knots Landing
That'd be a shame - hope it's only a mistake if they do and it comes up on demand later as it's a big episode; Abby's infamous smashing through the door and Anne's first appearance.

ALL: Proposed Soaps Over The Years
I don't think it's that odd that six episodes were written - obviously it came very close to an episode order, but I assume ABC balked at the last minute. Plus they had The Colby's coming at that point, which might've put another nail in the coffin for Midas Valley. Perhaps they had it as a back-up plan in case The Colby's didn't come together considering that show never filmed a proper pilot presentation.

I think Paulina will at least stay on due to her marriage with Abe, plus I think the higher ups like having Jackée Harry on the show. So Chanel might stay on by default. Jada? She was essentially created because they like the idea of having a woman black cop after Sal Stowers' exited. I could see her go either way tbh.

They might jump back to Falcon Crest first.

Perhaps, but I feel like the season six writers set him up to be redeemable. I mean, Lillimae was shown to have major issues with psychiatry, Val had gone full-on into split mode after the twins' "death" and now the son was starting to show major signs of being unstable. I think they might've ended up exploring what on earth was wrong with the Clemens' clan.

Joshua had a death sentence on him once he started physically abusing Cathy. IIRC, he actually didn't cross that line in season six, so it was just another thing to make him as unlikeable as possible to make the audience be relieved that he was killed off.

ALL: Proposed Soaps Over The Years
Really interesting that they came as far as advertising it in a broadcast magazine - I guess buyers just didn't bite in order to make it go into syndication? I wonder how the pilot was since, as people has pointed out, Dark Shadows must've done impressive numbers for this to even go from an idea to pilot.

They supposedly did look into the rights of Flamingo Road around the time they looked into Falcon Crest and Knots Landing. It doesn't necessarily mean anything, but fingers crossed that at least it'll make it onto streaming.
-
Knots Landing
Music rights was never the problem btw. The reason seasons 3-14 were never released on DVD was because of the poor sales of seasons 1-2.

Knots Landing
I'm guessing they might be trying to have people subscribe to the live channel first before putting everything on demand. But hopefully it'll happen after the first run through, but who knows. Although, looking at it, Plex has a lot of pages for a lot of tv shows that aren't streaming so some might just be automated. A selection: One for Homefront: https://watch.plex.tv/show/homefront Also one for Flamingo Road: https://watch.plex.tv/show/flamingo-road Cane: https://watch.plex.tv/show/cane Berrenger's: https://watch.plex.tv/show/berrengers 2000 Malibu Road: https://watch.plex.tv/show/2000-malibu-road Yellow Rose: https://watch.plex.tv/show/the-yellow-rose Emerald Point NAS: https://watch.plex.tv/show/emerald-point-n-a-s And so on... I guess there's some shows that don't show up (like Freshman Dorm or Kings Crossing), but it makes me wonder how many of these will ever find its way there.
