  4. Actress Gloria de Haven (Bess) passed away earlier today.
  5. Actress Gloria de Haven, who played Sara Fuller on As the World Turns, passed away earlier today.
  6. Actor Roscoe Orman, who played Tyrone on All My Children, is being written off the PBS television show Sesame Street, on which he has appeared for numerous (possibly forty) years. Mr. Orman played Luis on Sesame Street. I am not sure what Tyrone's last name was. I never knew it, but I think that I heard it called once on the show. He played the pimp of Donna Beck (Francesca Poston and Candice Earley), who had tried to kill. He later became jealous of her relationship with Dr. Chuck Tyler, and he tried to attack, I think, both Chuck and Frank.
  7. Actress Ethel Remey passed away. They recast the role with Dorothy Blackburn until her exit could be written into the scripts. She did go on a cruise, and I think that she died on it. Concerning the top billing and the seniority, that did not happen because William Johnstone was in the original cast, and Santos Ortega began on the second episode.
  8. Also concerning billing, the name of Patricia Bruder was listed way down below that of Henderson Forsythe. She had been written out (for the second time) and then returned. When she returned, her name was listed at bottom of the credits. It then kept rising. I really liked Laurel Delmar as Laurie Keaton. I wonder what she did after she left this program?
  9. I apologize for the mistake above, and I will make corrections as soon as I can.
  10. Robert Mason Pollock, who was a head writer for Guiding Light (around the time that it changed its name), As the World Turns, The Doctors, serial Santa Barbara (which he co-created and co-produced) and serial General Hospital has passed away at the age of 99. He was the son-in-law of Frank and Doris Hursley.
  11. Robert Mason Pollock, who was a head writer for As the World Turns, Guiding Light, The Doctors, and the serials General Hospital and Santa Barbara (which he co-created and co-produced) has passed away at the age of 99. He was the son-in-law of Frank and Doris Hursley.
  12. Robert Mason Pollock, who was a head writer for The Doctors, As the World Turns, The Guiding Light, and serial Santa Barbara (which he co-created and co-produced) has passed away at the age of 99. He was the son-in-law of Frank and Doris Hursley.
  13. Earlier this morning, I read that Beverly Hayes (Jane Driscoll #1) and Gordon Gray (Steve Reynolds #1) were married in real life. I had never heard this before. Ms. Hays went on to roles on Dark Shadows, The Edge of Night, and The Secret Storm. Mr. Grey later created the role of Ken Stevens on The Secret Storm.
  14. Who is the Harry to which Vera and Palmer refer? Is it Harry the Bookie (Robert Morse)?
  15. John McMartin, who played Ed Rice on As the World Turns from 1961 until 1963, has passed away. I will post an obituary later, if possible.
  16. There were several temporary Steves on The Doctors over the years. When I was watching the show, an actor from Where the Heart Is played him for a few days. (Rex Thompson?)
  17. And, was that Ellen Tobie (Grace Endicott on The Edge of Night) in the Fresh Start detergent commercial?
  18. On the Hellman's mayonnaise commercial toward the beginning of that clip, Jennifer Taylor (Detective Chris Egan on Edge of Night) appeared as the lady whose chicken salad had not tasted very good.
  19. I don't think that anyone at CBS "pioneered" cross-overs. NBC characters and ABC characters had been crossing over as far back as the 1960s and early 1970s.
  20. Do you think that when the show had Dr. Chuck Tyler and Donna Beck marry for the second and last time that the fans were clamoring for a reunion to each other? Over the years, writers broke them up. Both of them were involved with other people. Chuck married Carrie. He also was involved with Devon. Did he and Melanie Sawyer (Carol McCleur) have an attraction? Donna married both Palmer and Benny. She lived with Tom briefly, and she dated Ross. If I left out anyone connected with these two characters, please add to the list. But, I am told that Trisha Pursley (Devon) was happy when Devon was involved with Chuck, but Richard van Fleet told her that it was not good because the show seemed to be writing their eventual write-offs. Devon and Chuck broke up (and she left town again), and he and Donna reunited in a haste before being written off. Do you think that this reunion was initiated by the viewers?
  21. I am looking forward to more updates, but I don't wish to rush you.
  22. Actor Marco St. John, who was one final actors cast in the role of Dr. Paul Stewart (possibly the next to the last) will be on the remake of Roots playing Gambler #2 this week.
  23. For years, I had heard that Mr. Dumont in the role of Lincoln. However, I saw a scene with him, and he wasn't nearly as dreadful as I had been led to believe that he was.
  24. Today is May 1 - the birthday of Penny Hughes. If her brother, Dr. Bob Hughes has not already sent her a bouquet of flowers, he will prior to midnight. After the death of Chris Hughes, Bob continued the tradition of sending flowers to Penny on her birthday.
  25. Madelyn Sherwood, who appeared on The Secret Storm in the 1970s, has passed away at the age of 92.
