All My Children Tribute Thread
I was an advid viewer of All My Children in the 1970s. I did not see the first twenty-eight months of the show (due to not having an ABC affiliate near my home), but I do not remember that Nick was ever a dancer. He DID own a dance studio, but I do not remember that Nick had ever been a dancer or was a dancer. He met his wife Kitty when he hired her to be an instructor in his dance studio. Kitty had been in Hollywood and wanted to be discovered as a dancer, but the age of the musical was mostly over by that time. She decided to move to Pine Valley because her mother had once lived there or had some connection to Pine Valley. I remember that Kitty asked to meet Kate Martin because Kate had lived in Pine Valley during that time and Kitty hoped that Kate could possibly remember her mother. (When Kitty came to have dinner with the Martin family, Kate could remember ever having met Kitty's mother.) By the way, before Nick had his dance studio, he owned a firm that sold light bulbs.

This perfomer would have been good in that role
Lisa Peluso and Laura Bonnagiro on All My Children are excellent choices. I recently watch an episode from the early 1960s with Diana Hyland (Young Doctor Malone) of The Naked City. This epsiode made me realize that she would have been an excellent choice to play Laura Stockbridge Collins on Dark Shadows (a role played by the late Diana Millay). I know that, at the time, she may have been on the primetime serial Peyton Place, but she could have been extremely good in the role on Dark Shadows.

Recasts on shows: good, bad, in between
Melinda O. Fee was a recast on The Guiding Light. She replaced Victoria Wyndham in the role of Charlotte (which had begun as Tracy). She was an excellent recast.

Edge of Night (EON) (No spoilers please)
I do not think that Geraldine ever hated Raven. She was friends with Nadine, and she hated that Raven hurt Kevin Jamison. But, I do not recall any hate. Likewise, she had no hate for her daughter-in-law Tiffany. She seemed to enjoy mothering Raven and Tiffany. .

Here is the obituary for writer Mary Ryan Munisteri: UNISTERI--Mary Ryan (1939-2022). Mary Ryan Munisteri died peacefully at her home in Brooklyn, NY, on January 29, 2022 at 82 years old. Characters: The Aborted & The Wasted
I know that Mel Cobb Ben Everett) and Joanie Collier (Eileen Finley) were two characters during the last years of Henry Slesar's run on The Edge of Night who were introduced and then suddenly dropped.

As The World Turns Discussion Thread
I do not remember her. The show sometimes showed nurses or secretaries who were African-American. Actor P. J. Sidney appeared on the show, so maybe she was his character's date. These performers rarely had speaking parts that I can remember, so it would have been unusual is this actress spoke.

This perfomer would have been good in that role
I think that actor Tuc Watkins (One Life to Live) would have been terrific in the role of Wade Matthews on All My Children. (Wade was the third husband of Phoebe and the brother of Robin.) It is well known that All My Children was not very lucky in the early years with casting the role of Lincoln Tyler. The first Lincoln (James Karen) was regarded as too old. The second had an accent that was too thick. I think that the third Lincold (Nicholas Pryor) was probably pretty good, but, at the time, there was not much for Lincoln to do. So the character was written off, and later returned recast by Peter White. James Karen, Lincoln #1, was born in 1923. Here are two actors who I think would have been good cast as the first Lincoln: Michael Lipton (born in 1925) and William Redfield (born in 1927). Both had previously played roles on As the World Turns: Mr. Redfield as the first husband of Ellen and Mr. Lipton as Penny's second husband. Michael Lipton and Rosemary Prinz (who played Lincoln's first wife Amy on All My Children) had actually played a married couple on As the World Turns.

Whatever has happened to this soap opera performer?
I would love to know about actress Patricia Dixon. She played Caroline Murray Grant on All My Children, and she was also on Search for Tomorow. She was a very competent actress.

"Where the Heart Is," "Best of Everything," "Search for Tomorrow," audio clips, Summer 1970.
I lived in a location that had no ABC affiliate. I was on vacation in the summer of 1970 and got to see The Best of Everything, A World Apart, and All My Children. The Best of Everything was my favorite of the three. In October of 1971, WAPT came on the air and was an ABC affliliate. The Best of Everything was already gone. Dark Shadows was on its way out, then A World Apart was. I can attest that A World Apart showed more promise and was better produced than was All My Children at the time.

Search For Tomorrow Discussion Thread
I enjoyed every role in which I saw her. I did not see her on Love of Life or The Edge of Night. She was already on Search for Tomorrow as Andrea when I first saw her. Then, I saw her on How to Survive a Marriage and her two roles on One Life to Live. I also enjoyed it when she was on Law and Order.

He was probably playing Ken Stevens #2 on The Secret Storm by the early 1970s.

Edge of Night (EON) (No spoilers please)
My understanding is that actor Donald May (Adam Drake) has passed away.

Whatever has happened to this soap opera performer?
Another performer that I would love to know about (and who seems to be a complete mystery) is Alberta Grant (Liz Hillyer Prentiss Field on The Edge of Night). Any information will be appreciated!

This perfomer would have been good in that role
Actor Walt Wiley (Ryan's Hope, All My Children) could have easily played Spencer Varney on The Edge of Night.

Whatever has happened to this soap opera performer?
I really would like to know what happened to actor Ted Tinling. He was an extra in a scene of Dark Shadows (right when Bill Malloy disappeared, he and a woman were seen in the Collinsport Inn cafe.) and then was cast as Vic Lamont on The Edge of Night. I don't think that he acted again aside from a short role on As the World Turns (as a funeral home director, I think). I would love to contact him and wish I had more information.
