Had Evans stayed as Beth throughout the early 90s, I think under Curlee the character would've developed a backbone and became a strong business woman like all the other women on the show at the time. I do think (too) that Curlee would've possibly had Mindy and Beth clash over Nick, and there probably would've been no reason for Eve. But honestly, I can't image JE anywhere during that time but as Paulina on AW. That WAS her defining role on daytime. Especially, from 91-95 when she was in Jake's orbit. I like to forget about her time with Joe as it was painful to watch Paulina become a declawed hot mess married to that chauvinist pig. The only story from 96-99 concerning Paulina that interested me was the pill addiction story.

Can we discuss last episode about the last episode when Minnie got p*ssed about Abira wearing her waders, and Abira reacted by offering to tape all the waders together so Minnie could finally fit them?! Abira is a hoot. And I'm sorry, but I love Juicy. She can do no wrong in my book. Especially, when it comes to her terrorizing Minnie's lying a**.

She was pleading in the preview clip for next week. They're stupid for even including Kim in anything when she feels she's above these women.

Eva is OK casting. It is obvious Nene brought her on to replace Cynthia. We do not need Kim at all. She sucks the energy out of the room with her half-assed commitment to the show. I'm over her bringing b-tch boy Kroy everywhere too. I'm NOT here for Marlo pleading with Kim next week to go on the trip knowing damn well Kim won't go up the street with these chicks. I don't give a flying hoot about Will at all. A blind man can see he was using Cynthia for airtime. Cynthia, go back and get with Peter. It is obvious you miss the man. Bump what everyone else thinks and go get him back.

You brought up Marlena being possessed by the Devil as an example, if it were done in a more realistic manner (minus the bed floating, shape shifting, etc.) would you have found it to be acceptable. If it did stay in the realm of realism with Marlena have a mood shift and becoming gravely ill--something borderline Exorcist like?

@vetsoapfan, but do you think there can be exceptions to supernatural stories? For instance, Greta on The Doctors calling out to the other side for Mike, or some of the dark, gothic things EON did throughout their run. I think if soaps skirt the supernatural and it is written well, it can still be realistic seeing as many people do believe in the supernatural. Some episodes of ATWT from 94:
