Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
MELBOURNE Totally agree @Nothin'ButAttitude it's so good to have this franchise back. It feels so much more organically produced than other franchises. I'm not sold on Lydia though. She's still an absolute fake. That's nice that she's admitted she's fat and happy. Venus is very smart and level, but she's gone so overboard with the plastic surgery and makeup and tinted contact lenses - she looks like a different species. She looked like Shirley Eaton - the actress painted gold in the James Bond film Goldfinger. Gamble and Gina's friendship imploding isn't a surprise. They're competitive personalities and that was always going to be a liability. Gina is still loads of fun and ballsy as heck. Gamble has drunk her own Kool-Aid. Jackie doesn't annoy me. She's a big personality and I find her relatively harmless. She's definitely pushy and vulgar, but that's not the biggest sin. I love Janet. Always have. She is a true Australian sheila. Always good for a giggle and a gossip.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
The Kim/Kenya opening fight continuation from last week wasn't the highlight of the episode I thought it might be. I don't like either of Kim or Kenya, so I don't care how their fights go. They're both liars and drama queens and deluded. I did, however, have absolute sympathy for Kenya losing her grandmother. That was sad. As Cynthia pointed out, that was a woman who chose to raise her and love her when she didn't have to. Cynthia is beautiful, but her scenes are absolute filler. They could have cut that cupcake scene entirely. And that boyfriend seems like a set up storyline. Sheree and Kandi as friends who gossip while the adorable baby Ace hangs out in the background works for me. Kandi is so much better around people who aren't on her payroll. The highlight of the episode, by far, was Marlo fixing Nene's collapsing bun while she tore into Pinto at the San Francisco dinner party. THAT was hilarious. (PS: that clip from years ago between Nene and Sheree demonstrates how much better Nene's old nose looked!)

That’s how I feel. It had to be someone and I’m glad it is her. And I agree that casting away from Joan’s iconic look is wise. And it’s nice that Nicollette comes from 80s primetime soap. She will have reverence for this character that few others would have.

Hollywood Sexual Harrasment/Assault Thread
The reaction to Angela Lansbury's statements was disgusting. A bunch of Millenial fools who can't bother to read the entire statement she made. Lauer had it coming. His cheating seemed to be an open secret. The secret lock button under his desk, as Variety reported, is disturbing. Perhaps now his wife can finally divorce him, get half of everything and custody of the kids.

The thing about Nicollette is that she was very good on Desperate Housewives. So good, in fact, that it caught people by surprise and suddenly her supporting role got elevated and she got the Vanity Fair cover with the rest of 'em, much to the chagrin of Hatcher et al. And she deserved the approbation. She will succeed as Alexis, insofar as this series is concerned, as she is a capable actress. It's the kind of unexpected casting that Joan was. I tip my hat to the Shapiros.

ALL: Soap Stars - Where are they now?
I love this music video - it is so charming and perfect for Christmas. Thank you for sharing it. Susan is, as always, the epitome of graciousness.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
I thought Lauren was way more MIA in the previous season. I felt her presence plenty this season. I missed her at the reunion. Cheshire's cast is too big and I think that sometimes makes each of the women seem MIA because the screen is overcrowded. I loved Toronto. It was not trash and it was not boring. It was glamorous and fun and, like season 1 of Vancouver, had an actual story arc.

I disagree about Lauren. She's my favourite and always makes me laugh. She also isn't afraid of confrontation but isn't a dumbass looking for a fight. I found Cheshire far more enjoyable than any of the American franchises this year aside from NYC (and Toronto was fabulous in Canada). LOVE Janet's intro line for Melbourne. Bring on this season!

I see this as a win for everyone. A win for Nicollette Sheridan, who I have always liked, and who I think was given a raw deal from Marc Cherry and ABC. It is good to see her working and get a higher profile role. She was one of the best things about Desperate Housewives. And a win for Dame Joan. Nicollette will be fine in the role, but she, like this series itself, will also be wholly forgettable. When people think of Alexis, they will think of Joan evermore.

I'm with you. It was so torturously bad and an absolute chore to watch. They need to realize that we aren't here to watch toxicity.

OC What did I just watch? That was the most disjointed conclusion of a finale that I've seen. I'm not sure what to believe about Vicki and Tamra. It was such an abrupt change in direction that it seems like it was cut and edited together bizarrely. I also do not know what to make of Shannon...she was pretty stiff when Vicki was pouring herself out about how she's been through divorce and how Shannon can survive...and then when they shared couch space? I don't feel like we've seen the last of this conflict. Lydia held her own. These women don't realize how rich her family is and the armour like confidence she's got. Peggy and Megan were so boring. Get rid of them both immediately.

I understand. And if I have to be savagely attacked, I would most want it to be by Drita.

ATL Mynique was, like, 25 shades lighter than last we saw her. I've never seen that kind of transformation outside of Michael Jackson. I didn't mind seeing Kim at all and she fit in seamlessly. I don't mind her tangling with Kenya because Kenya's a liar and an unconvincing one at that. She's evasive. Always has been. Kim is vulgar and obvious, but she's also easy to read, what you see is very much what you get. Kenya, on the other hand, is contrived and rings as hollow as a piñata. Porsha's role is pointless since no one will film with her and nobody cares about her veganism or salon. Why Greg Leakes was released from the hospital without a pacemaker boggles my mind - he should have had one done immediately.

Phaedra looks ridiculous. We are witnessing Life After Bravo...and it's ugly.

I respect Tiffany Hendra for calling it as she lived it. And I would bet she's right about Bravo and Andy Cohen, as Kathy Griffin has recently been frank enough to discuss her views on. Obviously, she knows she's burning her bridges, but she doesn't care. That said, I enjoy watching these shows for the very reason she points out: rich people fighting and having problems has been the root of entertainment for decades. It's just real these days, rather than scripted. The issue that Bravo/Cohen is ignorant to is that the audience prefers a lighter season. We don't watch for the toxic stuff. It's what is slowly killing the franchise. I cannot wait for Melbourne.

I am so sad to hear of her death. The moment when HRH The Duchess of Kent pulled her head onto her shoulder so she could cry was a moment of such compassion. Her jubilation at Novotna's win years later was heartening. They had a special bond. I wonder how The Duchess, now 84, feels today.

Atlanta was boring last night. We did not get a full Sheree Whitfield 'Who Gonn' Check Me Boo?' moment. Porsha has no storyline, Nene's seemed like a reenactment, Kandi sat around with her paid sycophants, again, and I don't recall anything from Kenya and Cynthia of note. OC Tamra cries those tears and she's nearly believable. Nearly. Vicki actually seemed shocked that David and Shannon split. And Shannon actually seemed somewhat touched that Vicki was sad. Lydia didn't break a sweat with Meghan and Shannon. You wouldn't have known Peggy was on that couch. Aside from her tussle with Lydia, the same goes for Meghan.

Totally agree - Nope. It did nothing for me. Shannon didn’t apologize at all to Vicki and didn’t own up to anything. As always.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Respectfully, I think what Jill is going to need is grief counselling, not appearing on a reality show with screaming banshees like Frankel and Singer with the misogynist Andy Cohen in the background. Bobby always seemed like a first class person. Always kind, always calm, always good humoured. I wish, for him, peace and, for Jill, strength.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Lydia demolished Shannon. I don't even know why Meghan tries, she is too stupid to tangle with anyone. And the worst thing is she's boring. @Nothin'ButAttitude Thank you!!! The glamour shots are great. The trailer is...lacking? The only highlights are the multiple trips and the LVP queenliness.
