Y&R to air classic episodes
A clip of Dina's 1983 arrival was on YT years ago. Maybe an upcoming theme week for long lost relatives returning might have that episode.

Look into the past - 1975
I don't think Victor interacted on screen with Vanessa/Lance/Lucas at all. Even if Victor did interact w/ Vanessa, I'm sure he would recognize her as someone not to mess with. Side note, I think John McCook was already gone from Y&R when Eric Braeden joined the cast.

Y&R to air classic episodes
Yeah, we totally have. Episodes from Dina's original run 1983-1986, then her returns in 1991 and 1996, and her most recent run.

So Lance and Prentiss Industries were precursors to Victor and Newman Enterprises. Later in 1976 is the arrival of Vanessa Prentiss. Can't wait to read about her storyline in detail.

Y&R to air classic episodes
I remember Jill was seeing both Rex and John at the same time but got exposed when Katherine invited John to an engagement party she set up for Rex and Jill. Dina told the family she had an illness but she was actually broke. Edit to add: Speaking of Dina, in the 1984 episode on Tuesday she was serving up some Alexis Carrington Colby fierceness. Bill Bell used elements of Alexis for Dina: mother abandons her family, lives a jet set life, remarries a wealthy businessman, becomes widowed, inherits late husband's business that rivals the ex-husband's business. Bill Bell couldn't make Dina British or even French and have her live in a luxury penthouse as that would be too obvious LOL. Although he hasn't appeared in any of the classic episodes, I think Marc Mergeron was Y&R's most Dynasty character haha.

Y&R to air classic episodes
Aww, Neil and Dru were so young and sweet here. It was the episode before today's where Jill got the phone call from the doctor that confirmed she was pregnant with Billy. So funny how everyone was trying to get Paul and Lynne together but little did we know at the time what was on the way. Michael's story was coming to an end and he would be off the canvas for four years. @Faulkner I don't CLB had grown into his looks during the first run. His peak looks wise IMO was 1997-2004. Around 2005, 2006 he started looking like he lost alot of weight really quickly. Skipping Katy Perry and Devon/Hilary wedding. Global update Monday Global/Tuesday CBS - 7853; OAD April 2, 2004 (Abby tells Victor he's her father) Tuesday Global/Wednesday CBS - 8140; OAD May 24, 2005 (Cassie dies) Wednesday Global/Thursday CBS - 8826; OAD February 7, 2008 (JT and Victoria's wedding)

That must have been the facial rejuvenation procedure that was part of Katherine's storyline in 1997 or 1998.

Jeanne was 45 when she started on Y&R. 1970s/1980s styling maybe is what made her look older than what we're used to seeing 45-55 year olds look like in 2020. As we all know, Jeanne also had substance abuse issues and she was a smoker for many years so that affected her looks. I also think she got alot of sun exposure over the years. Our resident surgery expert @DaytimeFan might weigh in later.

Jeanne was 55 during the facelift storyline. The scene where Liz comments "the doctor took off 10 years" was shown during the 2003 Daytime Emmy broadcast. I saw that Victor/Nikki reunion scene on YT years ago but had no idea it was from the Katherine facelift reveal episode. Two weeks later was the GOAT wedding. So far 2, September 18, 1987 (rebroadcast May 5) and today. I don't recall any TL scenes in the episodes of April 13, 1984 (rebroadcast April 3), November 2, 1981 (rebroadcast May 4), July 18, 1986 (rebroadcast June 8), June 27, 1984 (rebroadcast June 22). I just realized that this month marks 40 years since Terry Lester started on Y&R.

Cricket was only there for spring break and summer stories at that time. It wasn't until summer 1986 that Lauralee Bell joined the cast full time and Cricket proceeded to eat the show for the remainder of the 1980s.

Y&R to air classic episodes
The first episode is on the Entertainment Weekly link so I watched it there instead of the edited rebroadcast. From these first two episodes we could see elements of Bill Bell's work that would be used later on, ie. the established upper class family and the working class family. It was surprising at first to see Jennifer Brooks preparing dinner for her family and the Brooks family eating at the kitchen table but I guess upper class in 1973 didn't necessarily mean employing a household staff and having meals in the formal dining room. Looking forward to Katherine's facelift tomorrow and Neil/Dru wedding reception on Wednesday.

All I can say about Brenda Dickson in her recent photos is that she's very well-preserved.

Y&R to air classic episodes
@YRfan23 I would think a Nick/Sharon week would have all Sharon Case episodes, and not the first two Sharons. We already saw Nick/Sharon 1996 wedding, and Cassie's adoption, so I guess the next Nick/Sharon episodes to show could be Noah's birth and Sharon learning Cassie is her child. I also don't want to see anything from the last 15 years.

Y&R to air classic episodes
@YRfan23 That episode might have Sharon #2 and Amy #1. Going by memory here, Julianne Morris came on in early September 1994 (either during the US Open short week or the week after) and Sharon Case came on mid-September.

70s, 80s, and 90s next week, yay! I'm still hoping we'll get to see EB's first episode, and EB's first scenes w/ MTS, ED, TL. Why hasn't there been a best of Victor week?

@BoldRestless @Soap-princessI don't want to see that.

Do we dare hope for 1980s and 1990s episodes all next week?

Racism and racial representation on soaps
@soapfan770 @Darn That casting call for Sophia is like a checklist of every stereotype of Black American females. Way to go MAB

I don't remember Phyllis/Malcolm being shown in bed together. They kissed but that's as far as I can remember they went.

@Dylan Where did you find the list of next week's episodes? If that's the lineup, I'll be probably be skipping that week.
