The Preemption/Out of Pattern Thread
Earlier in the thread a June 1988 listing for Seattle had Days at 3 pm. I'm guessing that it moved to 9 am after the supercouple era ended and the kids watching after school lost interest. I wonder if Days went back to 3 pm during the Reilly sci-fi era when the kids were watching again. So Seattle got B&B in 1992? I was so sure that B&B started in Seattle in 1994, or maybe that's when the CBS station started broadcasting it. We know Capitol did not air on the CBS station in Seattle so maybe an independent station broadcast Capitol there.

Y&R: Tony Morina accused of sexual harassment. Sony being sued.
More like the 1980s. I say all the backstage drama began when Ed Scott took over as EP. He's always given me s--- disturber vibes.

Look into the past - 1975
Last year after Y&R aired the 1981 episode, I looked up some info on K.T. Stevens (Vanessa). I didn't know when the 1981 episode aired that Y&R was actually K.T.'s third daytime drama, she was part of the original cast of General Hospital and was also on Days. K.T.'s Days role was from 1966-1967 and 1969, so another actor that Bill Bell worked with on both Days and Y&R. Also K.T. Stevens was on Days the same time as Susan Flannery. Wow, Stephanie and Vanessa, the OG Stephanie; I wonder if their Days characters interacted. This blogger has a good write up on her: K. T. Stevens | Those obscure objects of desire (wordpress.com)

So sad to read about Jess Walton's husband passing away. I'm sure she has lots of support from her family, friends, coworkers, and fans.

You missed Generations in the NBC list. One could also say that ABC did not have much success expanding their lineup beyond their big three General Hospital, All My Children, One Life to Live.

Where would it fit in the timeline? Only possibilities I can think of are either Phyllis had a child before Daniel or in the year she was in New York.

Thank you @FrenchFan With the Y&R summaries I'm drawn more to Vanessa/Lorie feud more than Katherine/Jill feud, even though it was the latter feud that drove storylines for 40 years. If the summaries continue, we might get to the introductions of Paul and Nikki, which are about a year away.

Billboard Charts
If we do not count Elvis Presley's 11 Pre-Billboard Hot 100 #1s, Justin Bieber is the 8th male solo artist to reach 8 #1s on the Billboard Hot 100. The male solo artists with 8 or more #1s on the Billboard Hot 100 are Michael Jackson (13), Stevie Wonder (10), Elton John (9), Usher (9), George Michael (8), Drake (8), Bruno Mars (8), Justin Bieber (8). Justin Bieber is the 8th artist not from the United States to reach 8 #1s on the Billboard Hot 100. The artists not from the United States with 8 or more #1s on the Billboard Hot 100 are The Beatles (20), Rihanna (14), The Bee Gees (9), Elton John (9), The Rolling Stones (8), George Michael (8), Drake (8), Justin Bieber (8). Nancy Curlee and Stephen Demorest interview
Re JFP/Justin Deas/Cooper family. Pamela Long created Harley, Frank, Nadine, Pops. Nancy Curlee expanded the family with Stavros and Eleni before JFP arrived. It was posted in the They Almost Became thread and in the GL thread that CBS/P&G originally offered the part of Buzz Cooper to Terry Lester but he turned it down to take Royce Keller on As the World Turns and Terry himself even said this in an interview. Were any other actors were considered for Buzz before JFP got her friend Justin Deas hired? Although the Coopers were already on the canvas, JFP wanted them to become the main family as a showcase for Deas, which is pretty much what we saw in the aftermath of Maureen's death until Nancy Curlee left the writing team. Side note, Terry Lester was not a Buzz. Someone in the GL thread suggested him as an Alan recast in 1994, I wonder how he would've done in that role.

Those names bring back so many memories of the excitement of Olympic track and field. Even though he is not American, Usain Bolt was probably the last Olympic track and field superstar. No surprise in men's basketball, USA wins gold. As for the bronze game, I'm not disappointed with Australia getting their first men's basketball medal. Fourth is not a bad showing for Slovenia in their Olympic men's basketball debut.- 2020 Tokyo Olympics
Men's Basketball gold medal game USA/France and bronze medal game Australia/Slovenia. My predictions were way off LOL. At this point it'll probably go USA gold, France silver, Slovenia bronze.- 2020 Tokyo Olympics

Y&R has gone into budget mode.- YR/BB actress possibly back at B&B
What we saw onscreen and rewrites. I used real time for the rewrites. 1991 - Sheila miscarries Scott Sr.'s child. 1997 - Sheila gives birth to Mary Warwick. 2002/2003 - Sheila becomes involved w/ Massimo Marone, supposedly resulting in Diana Marone. 2005/2006 - Sheila becomes involved w/ Tom Fisher, supposedly resulting in twins Daisy and Ryder Fisher. In the timeline, Finn's birth and adoption would either have been before Sheila arrived in Genoa City, or in between Mary and Diana.- YR/BB actress possibly back at B&B
Do you think Bradley remembers his father's history of the character?- Nancy Curlee and Stephen Demorest interview
Re Maureen/Roger, theirs was such a fascinating dynamic. Maureen saw the good qualities in Roger, and while Roger didn't care about what the rest of Springfield thought of him, he cared about what Maureen thought of him. You could see hints of that when Roger and Maureen were trapped together during the blackout and when Roger visited Maureen's grave. Perhaps secretly deep down Roger might have been a little in love with Maureen but I don't think he ever would admit it or act on it. I think having Maureen turn to Roger in the aftermath of learning about the Ed/Lillian affair and Roger helping Maureen and Michelle leave Springfield and start over somewhere else might have played out better than killing off Maureen.- YR/BB actress possibly back at B&B
Sheila has been played out since 1998. I swear that character is Bradley's "break glass in case of emergency" device. We saw Sheila pregnant onscreen once on Y&R (Scott Grainger Sr.'s child that was miscarried which lead to the baby switch) and once on B&B (Mary Warwick). Then there was Diana Marone on B&B, and twins Daisy and Ryder Fisher on Y&R. I don't know how old this Finn character is supposed to be but the only explanation I can think of is that Sheila had a child while in nursing school and then placed it for adoption. Maybe the father is John Silva. Remember when Sheila first arrived in Genoa City there were some hints that she and John Silva shared a past but for whatever reason Bill Bell didn't expand on that.- 2020 Tokyo Olympics
USA Men's Basketball gets Spain in the Quarterfinals and either Australia or Argentina in the Semifinals. The other half of the bracket is France/Italy and Slovenia/Germany. I'm thinking the Gold Medal Game will be USA/Slovenia and the Bronze Medal Game will be Australia/France. - 2020 Tokyo Olympics
