  1. I didn't know anything about Wendy's absence until I was just reading through these threads. But I think they did paid audiences for The Revolution and maybe even The Chew. I know they did the Revolution because similar - free $50 or $75 to sit there, a friend did it. I remember hearing that at the end they did for The Chew also.
  2. I haven't seen it in ages, but I agree with that sentiment. No thanks. She doesn't make me want to watch and I heard people like her and Deacon, but I'm just not interested. Her antics are 25 years ago for me and from the little I've read, everyone is dumbed down for her. I felt the same with Quinn though when she was eating the show. But with Kimberlin, I can't help but think about the person she is IRL, just like the last Thorne/Ego Rademacher. Meh.
  3. I said when it happened (the verdict), the next move by the Trumpers would be to applaud Rittenhouse and make a champion out of him/put him on a pedestal as a virtuous wonderful human being. And that's what the Trumps are doing. All to rally their base of racists. They know who is in their party, and they love it. So you tweet about it and make him a hero and you fan the flames as much as possible. They're so easy to figure out.
  4. @Soapsuds And see I didn't even catch it but I have heard and seen Norrie, but didn't even connect the spelling/auto-correct to figure it out...
  5. I barely know some of the people in this whole recent thread...don't even recognize some names. I don't think I've ever seen the two you're mentioning...Morris and Rudd? I would have no idea that Tennis was even on... And I keep thinking about this. Remember when Figure Skating blew up? Harding vs. Kerrigan and all of the popularity...and immediately after for a few years. I remember them talking about it at the time, and commentators saying it was the best time to be a Skater...girls and guys postponed their lives, education, etc. for Figure Skating because it was so hot...and this popularity changed the sport and it was 'here to stay'. I don't think anyone ever thought it would end up crashing the way it has now. Still has its fans but not anything like it was, unless you are a HARD core fan of skating. Tennis is reminding me of that now...how the big 3 was the story...the Williams' sisters the big story. Now that they're pretty much gone, the sport isn't the same - it's having the opposite effect to me just like Skating. Interesting to think about.
  6. Definitely Harley/Beth Ehlers - Guiding Light. On ATWT I always missed Lyla Montgomery after she was gone as well as the others someone named. The list could be long for ATWT.
  7. I'll duck before I name two. I'm thinking characters you have that you can do without. Adam, Y&R and Christine/Cricket Y&R. I dropped watching Y&R altogether over the most recent Adam - aside from the fact that nothing was happening on Y&R, the little of what WAS happening was all things Adam. For a year+ they had him eat the show. Cricket/Christine I've never understood quickly after about 2 or 3 years into the character for her. Strangely they did make the leap to ditch Paul, which I don't think they had to do - they didn't have to make him an unbearable crotchety old man...but because they DID, I didn't miss his backburner status. I do have to disagree when characters like Lillian (GL) are named. There are characters that make a show feel like home, people in a town that are there, and she's one to me. She might have had a couple of storylines and then became a sounding board, but every show has to have that. If they're going to be a good show. If you're not careful you'll lose characters like Lisa (World Turns), Nancy (World Turns), Ross (GL), Blake (GL), and Maureen (GL) when they had "hot" stories at once, but then start to filter toward the background. I think you have to keep people like that to make a show real and ground it. Toss them a bone of a storyline every 7 to 10 years but you have to keep them. I don't think this is about those types of characters. And we know what a mess occurred when they ditched Maureen on GL. I agree with those that posted "Cane" on Y&R and I would also have to say Devon. I don't get either of those two. Devon has always been a dishrag to me, kind of a character I just don't care about or get the purpose of. Meanwhile they had a great in Hilary ---- so they killed her off. LOL. Then I guess figured out what a disaster of a mistake they made so brought her back as someone else.
  8. Oh my Gosh, so sorry to hear this. And I can't believe I never connected or knew that Kym Douglas was his wife. I loved her on the Ellen show.
  9. Me either. I said in another post, I can't stand him...don't know why. Maybe he's nice, don't know. But he never makes me want to root for him and always looks unhappy. Not my kind of person. I'm a Roger fan, but was pulling for Joker to win the slam when he got there. One thing I have to say, it did take him forever to be in the conversation about the GOAT, and even still, I heard the really rabid Roger and Nadal fans still saying things like, even if Novak wins a slam, he still won't be the GOAT. Even I have to admit, he pretty much came in and disrupted the big 2 and was the only one to do it while they were in their prime. While not on the same level at all, it reminds me of Seles and how she's never in the conversation about the greatest players of all time, and I'm not sure why that is. # of titles, no she does not have them. But I believe she had more slams before the age of 19 or 20 than any other woman, and she did it by beating Steffi in her prime. Similar to Maureen Connelly we'll never know. But anyway - Medvedev, I have to agree. That was a long rambling post, lol.
  10. I don't remember if it had ever been done before, but I remember one that was shocking for me that I hadn't seen...but I was a teenager at the time - mid 80's? So maybe someone had already done it. But I believe the depth with incest that As the World Turns went with Angel Lang, and her abusive father, Henry - and her romance with Caleb Snyder...I believe being blamed for getting Angel pregnant, to find out that (she lost the baby??)...but she was pregnant by her own father, not Caleb.
  11. When I left the show on the other day, I thought the same thing. Not the bay-yang, not the bayang?? No not the bay- yang....you can youtube it. I posted but thought - bad language, yet funny. Just Youtube/seach on not the bay yang.
  12. Just reading all of this makes me shudder. I don't miss it. Kanan's last trip around had him ending with getting hauled off to jail after appearing dressed in seaweed. And the idea of Sheila's antics sounds 30 years ago. No way, no thanks. It wouldn't surprise me to learn cartoon-Quinn returns. The one that shoves people off cliffs, kidnaps and has sex with her son's brother, obsesses over her son, attempts murder repeatedly, etc. It's just sad really. The comments above re: about people talking about Eric's rising member made me laugh. I would have to walk if I were most of the cast, especially John McCook but I guess he needs the money.
  13. I must have missed everything too. Don't go Soapsuds. I had to take a break from Facebook once before I lost more friends. LOL. Maybe that wasn't bad? During elections and very stupid political posts from the side I don't agree with, made me an 'awful' person. Well...I decided no I'm not - and I was not going back to High School...they're not my friends and given their views, probably never should have been. So I ghosted for a couple months, and my real friends knew where to find me. After awhile, I went back.
  14. I passed by today and saw Thomas. I wondered if Atkinson is trying out for Jesus Christ Superstar or another role somewhere. Makes me feel a little dirty to think he's a hot Jesus.
  15. Funny. I only somewhat agree, but anyone could have won this year really. But it took a perfect draw really for Pennetta to win. I guess Emma didn't have powerhouse players like Jarmila Gajdosova, Monica Niculescu, Petra Cetkovska, and the quarterfinals before she really met anyone (Stosur at a 22 seed - a daunting task for your first seeded player you meet - and a 22 seed at that - very tough). While your country-woman follows a similar path, getting the benefit of a walkover injury, who then beats Serena for you in the Semis so that you get to meet the player you know the best of anyone for a final. The only problematic player Pennetta really met was Kvitova that year. Probably not the best comment from a one-hit wonder herself.
  16. Is her Dad there again? That would explain it. Not watching and have no idea but it sounds right.
  17. I loved every second of the Coopers on GL, and I know that's an unpopular opinion given that they focused on them rather than the Bauers. But I loved Frank, Buzz, Nadine, and Harley...Lucy not so much because I felt it was a swap for Harley when Beth Ehlers left. And I didn't feel like they hogged the show. I also never tired of Reva - another unpopular opinion. I still never felt like she was a one-woman show...other characters were involved most of the time through the years, whether it be Sonni/Solita, Josh, Billy, HB, Vanessa, her Mom and Dad, Cassie and Roxie, Kyle, Buzz, her kids and others. I never felt like 1 person ate the show. On the other hand, I turned off Y&R from the second they had nu-nu-Adam eat the show...every time you turned it on it was Grossman's Adam all over the place and it felt like 24/7. I have never gone back. I just didn't care about Victor hating him, Victor now loving him, Adam hates his Dad, now Adam loves his Dad, and on and on and on. I saw people calling it the Adam and the RestofThem - for good reason. No thanks.
  18. Not to do with what's going on right now, but I saw an interview with Eva Longoria, and Mario Lopez. They were talking about how long they'd known each other...awkward. He said something like, "you weren't even acting when we met!" and she said, "right, I was on the Young and the Restless"...or something VERY close to that. I guess they dated. But it was a bad little sounding comment. News honey, you're still not acting. LOLLLLLL.
  19. Me too - I love Fire on High, one of their lesser known but as of about 10 years ago, DC101 would sneak it in once in a while. Love these guys. Back when I lived in DC, they used to have free concerts in Annapolis during the evenings some weekends and friends thought I was crazy to drive over to just sit and listen. The Techno dance clubs and raves were more interesting to recover from on a Sunday. LOL. Was always fun to just go listen, and it's funny to see - people are so used to it there, they just walk by shopping, driving whatever...right by them and don't even stop. So talented.
  20. I found this thread just to see what had been posted about Morales. I never watched The Talk regularly, and because I loved World Turns it always naturally rubbed me the wrong way. I remember seeing a clip of the show a few months in or 6 months or a year in or something and they outwardly were talking about their improved ratings in the timeslot for CBS. I wanted to throw things at my TV when I saw and heard that. Like, don't talk about how you're doing against the other networks, they made it a POINT to talk about how they were improved over the show that got cancelled on their OWN network. Your own network isn't really your competition if you're winning your timeslot. I hate The Talk.
  21. And really love Cannons right now...reminds me of someone and I can't figure out who...almost a Stevie Nicks vibe except she can sing (sorry, I love Stevie but she's not the greatest vocalist)...this one is almost an old-school Fleetwood Mac kind of thing...although I shouldn't say Stevie can't sing, because of course this is Nasa engineered like everything today...
  22. Still really like them...
  23. Well I shouldn't have put it that way but I meant those not in demographics they even track because we don't count - the elderly over 54 crowd, the ones who are bedridden and unable to change the channel.
  24. I was talking to my sister today and she asked if I had seen B&B, and I said just reading about it. Without prompting she said, it is SO STUPID. I said, yeah, I've been reading. hahahaha. I noticed the ratings posted and saw...wow, GH is almost up to B&B in demos or right at them, and has like 500K less (or even less) total viewers. Pretty terrible. The 18-49W and 25-54W aren't watching B&B. The show has always skewed older since day 1, but now it's really glaring. They have to get the geriatric over 54 viewers because no one else is watching...and it's looking like they're tuning out also. You'd think they'd figure it out.
  25. Love them, another with the top down favorite 🙂
