  1. Perfect riding with the top down in my convertible song. 🙂
  2. I was rooting for Jack...nice guy. A friend of mine dated him briefly several years ago. I was messaging with her last night (she had no idea who he was at the time), she's not into sports at all. She didn't even know he really was a tennis player at the time, and doesn't follow tennis at all. She said, wow, I could have been rich! I said, well no...a lot of tennis players, most really are not rich. But anyway, had hoped he would win another round.
  3. The Alca match was unreal...I said to some friends while we were watching, I've never ever seen someone with touch like this repeatedly/consistently. I've seen players that have it, but his drop shots are second to none of anyone I've ever seen. Already. Who knows if he'll hold on to that as he ages, but he also basically has an average serve, which will improve. When this kid gets a serve that is 10% better and gets free points...look out. The other thing that made me smile really big was his passing shots...a very old coach told me once - I have no topspin practically, I hit flat. I was so disappointing to her, LOL because I'm left handed and she so wanted me to have a strong forehand...and I never did. My backhand was always the best. But of the flat hitting, she said God if you ever do anything in your tennis life, put some kind of topspin on your passes. It's deadly if you can do it. I always remembered that. She said, it doesn't matter where you put it if you can get that ball to dip, it makes it difficult for them on the other side. You are forcing them to close on the net or they're volleying UP to clear the net, even by an inch or a centimeter to volley up is difficult. I smiled and knew she was watching up there somewhere (sappy I know), but Alca dipped those passes and Tsi couldn't handle it. Several volleys dumped up into the net, and he was right there.
  4. Alexandra Stevenson...on Pegula and Bencic. Picks Bencic in a runaway in that part of the draw.
  5. I'm hopeful. I like Danielle, but she has temper issues. Game like Mary Pierce and is streaky and generally one speed. But I'm UVA, so. I've always liked her, and I think her BF coached her for awhile, and one tournament (last year?)?? She told him to go sit somewhere else because the whole stadium was empty and he sat right behind her and she didn't want to see him, LOL. I don't know if she's still with him but I thought, yeah that is a relationship that won't last.
  6. I might have to tune in just to see this mess...reading about it might not be enough. I'm dying laughing over Donna tripping and spilling Honey...or maybe Brooke and Shelia can become ultra concerned for Eric and team up for a hot threesome...Eric can claim to have gotten drunk and accidentally fallen into both of their vaginas....
  7. Very proud of himself - gloated in the press conference afterward as well. There might be a player on tour that can single-handedly change the way they think of Joker. I would almost relish it, to see them behind Joker in a vs. Titsy match. And have Joker take repeated bathroom breaks, or take one first.
  8. Lordt. Insert lame lines for Bad Santa/Sean Connery..."Shum-one needsh to shatishfy my wife...she'sh proven she should be shatishfied... "
  9. The on court interview afterward that (whoever did) with Tsitsipas got a tepid response from the crowd. I know it wasn't full and people probably didn't stick around afterward but usually after the person speaks or answers a question there will be applause of some kind and there was very very little. I would say he didn't endear himself to the crowd for sure.
  10. Looks like titsy needs to spend as much time at the Doctor's office as he does in bathrooms.
  11. James Blake: said something about it's clear that Isner doesn't want to get into any kind of rally. ????? Since when has he ever? He's never been a Tennis player. He serves the ball and that's about it...if the point actually ever starts with him, it's over. That's been the case his whole career, throw out his age or injuries or anything else...
  12. Yikes. I turn on the TV and some of these 1st round match pairings look like (by the names) they could have been Quarterfinals or Semis. To me that says the whole tournament is going to stink as far as quality goes...
  13. I had to laugh at one of the posts I read somewhere...looks like Australia has White Trash too (in regard to Igno). He and Kimberlin Brown would make a great pairing. I read his rants on Twitter and I just can't. I've never seen something so awful. Every time I think people can't be THAT stupid I'm proven wrong. He said something about being a lifeguard and it wouldn't keep him from saving someone if he disagreed with them...????? Jesus. What a moron. The healthcare professionals aren't refusing service to people who are unvaccinated. I don't know what equivalent he was trying to make by arguing over the ether about people disagreeing with his anti-vax attitude but...he sounds like a nut. What is it with the people who have played the role of Thorne on B&B?
  14. Has the Aussie majesty announced who his lucky mixed Doubles partner is yet? For the entertainment he likes to put on, not for the tennis...?
  15. I didn't watch during those years. Some well aged Limburger for sure. And is that REAL? How long has B&B doing the body laying on the ground with 1 shoe off? It's been done at least 5 or 6 times that I can think of, LOLLLLLLL.
  16. Re: Serena - I think she can still beat anyone in the World, but I don't think she can do it for a whole tournament. I kind of have changed my mind...I figured she would win a few more Slams actually, but now I think maybe one more is possible, but unlikely. I think someone will beat her in early rounds, and if she does grit out wins against girls she should beat, I think in a whole tournament she'll eventually lose to another decent player. Stringing them together is going to be a problem. I think Venus has remained playing because of Serena. I don't see one without the other, even though for several years it was Venus only. I could maybe see them continuing for a year or two as doubles only. Don't know why I think that, but.
  17. Can't wait to read both Quinn and Brooke are pregnant with Eric's babies, and Sheila fakes a pregnancy too, and then steals both babies and claims to have had twins. From what I read, I might not be far off.
  18. I guess we can wait for Isner vs. Opelka and the 178-176 5th set tie break that takes 6 days to complete.
  19. Tennis is such a shi*show right now. It's like tuning in to Soaps to see how bad it can get. Someone else said something similar on this board (@soapsuds? maybe)? So true.
  20. Casper isn't a ghost but he sure could be friendly with me.
  21. Really sorry I missed this when it aired, I spoke with Nancy once, and told her she was my favorite head writer and how much I loved Guiding Light while she was writing. She was so gracious and nice. She was in North Carolina at the time.
  22. I can't stand her - another reason not to tune in. At least with the recaps I can tell what's going on. Y&R I have no idea from recaps...it sounds like nothing is happening. I had left the TV on by accident after the noon news and forgot I had tuned into the CBS local news. I thought DAYS must be on because I didn't recognize anyone and it was Y&R. I can't remember the last time I watched either B&B or Y&R. I think on B&B I tuned in for a day to see what would be on Steffy's emmy reel because they mentioned it would be a moving story about addiction and would be well thought-out. Well eyeroll there. But I did only see part of 1 day of it so probably shouldn't judge.
  23. I’ve been waiting for Collins to have a breakthrough. I could see her winning a slam and I wondered why she wasn’t an Olympics entry. Didn’t know she was so far down the American totem pole. She’s got all of the pieces IMO even above Brady, Keys, Riske, etc. I have to look and see who went to the Olympics from the US. Didn’t see much of the Tennis there. Collins is a player I bet people don’t want in their draw.
  24. Feh. Nice piece of Limburger on that timeout by Bencic. Ultimately stinky cheese.
  25. Wow, I saw this when I woke up and wondered when it was on TV...I'm wondering now if Joker will win the US Open. I remember Chrissie picking the Field for Wimbledon, and I thought he would win that, but in the back of my head I thought he won't get the Open. Now I want to see how he responds to this - will he come out blazing at the Open, or will some guys that didn't go to Tokyo, who quietly just continued their lives at home come through? I don't know why it's interesting to me. I think this is a chip in the armor. I really thought the Olympics was going to be a ho hum cake walk for Joker, with the real test coming at the Open. Well, surprise. Kudos to who keeps posting about the Olympics yielding weird results... And an aside - you know how you like someone or you don't? And don't know why? I don't know why I don't like Medvedev but I don't. He just looks like a *ick to me. LOL. Could be the nicest guy on the planet but I don't like him.
