I saw the paint thing start but I had a call to be on as usual. I sighed. Same as the cake fight a few years ago. Whatever fills time I guess.

So this is interesting because I've always felt this way. Ditto with Monica Seles. You won't hear many commentators really talk about Tracy's accomplishments, really - because there were few, probably not enough to talk a lot about. Monica, of course a little more, but you can tell they don't love to talk about it. For Tracy, from all the articles I read and accounts - she was not in the "in" crowd in the locker room, on travel, etc. Well, she couldn't have been. She was 15 to 17 years old. And at the time, she was the only player to REALLY gouge into the Chrissy/Martina dominance. Similar arguments I've heard for Andrea Jaeger but - it's just not there to me for Andrea. She didn't win a slam. But Tracy did, becoming number one in the world. And at first it was a fluke, nothin' to see here folks. But then it was a Year End Championships or two, and then she won the Open again. She ended some players' streaks and I think the former guard realized that the shi* got real. At the time, and still, it's a lot of fans and commentators I've heard that call Tracy "robotic". I have gotten into arguments over this - with who I am 99% sure were Tennis pros on message boards. They assure me that Tracy was nothing but a Robot. To which I've said (and I am the biggest Chrissy fan, no doubt)...but I said - well then, so was Chrissy right? Because Chris said herself it was like staring across the net at herself...she has said it ALL the time. But no, there's a difference you see (don't know what that is)...because for the life of me, their stroke production is so similar it's uncanny. But no, you ask the real Chrissy fans, and there is a huge difference, and you do not know Tennis if you cannot see it. I say they are very similar in play, other than their records and longevity obviously. But at the time, no one had come along to beat both Chris and Martina in the same tournaments. All that aside - I was watching Keys yesterday and you could have knocked me over. I was like Jesus - she's RUNNING! She's BENDING HER KNEES! WHAT? WHY? HOW!??? Who IS THIS PERSON!? I'm sure the real Keys will show up very soon, but it was odd to see her look like she was actually TRYING out there.

I know I'm the drolling down trodden drum because of my negativity but - I've said, Sheila can never be killed off, so there's no interest for me there. They've made it so they can never be without her - they need a character to dumb everyone down, and that's what they do every time. To me at least, she literally looked like they do with Clark Kent and Super girl too....they put on a pair of glasses on and no one knows who they are. Although I was tired of Quinn, and I don't really watch often, Rena kind of deserved more than that if she's gone. I'll have to look up today's episode and see what they did at least on that front.

Who is the character and actress playing with Kirk Anderson in the video just a little up the board - the video that has Royce's trial....has scenes with Kirk and (??? Aunt Mary, baking....and she was deciding whether to sign with Worldwide or not). She looks so familiar and at first I thought....is that Rebecca Hollen who played Trish on GL? But it's not I don't think but she looks so familiar?

I saw....very happy for Tracy and him. He won't be in for very long though. But it was fun to watch him - plays similar to Tracy. They mentioned once about him not even fist pumping, no expending of extra energy, etc. I didn't hear anyone mention though - Tracy would even switch her racquet to the other hand between points because she didn't even want to grip the racquet or carry it with her hitting hand. Too tempting to clench onto it under stress between points.

I have never paid a lot of attention to the qualifying matches other than seeing what the results are afterward. But - I tuned in to ESPN news and saw the matches are (supposed to be on?)?? I thought we were between matches or sets or something, and I pull it up on my laptop or phone and see....nope, matches are going on. Currently being played. But we have a panel of Chrissy, Alexandra Stevenson (don't get me started), and all the usuals....sitting around TALKING about the qualifying matches and the US Open draw, etc. etc. WHILE MATCHES are GOING ON??? Guys, like....why don't you just throw up the match or matches goin on on the screen, and yammer away with whatever you want. But at least throw it up on the screen??? What the hell? Nope....just people chatting. While the matches are going on. ??? LOLLLL How useless.

When I caught part of the end of the one day - I thought - are we the only ones who know - like....ALL of us? That Deacon - it's obvious who you are sleeping with? So stupid. LOL. They are giving Days a run for their money at this point. I guess just watch and don't really pay attention? I feel kind of sad for the show that you would be reduced to Sheila - and it got to the point for me that there's no real reason to watch. Sheila will never die. She can't at this point. So you just watch to see who the next victims are.

Tune in for 5 minutes and - why are women fighting over Ridge and why are their kids constantly up their butts, and parents butts welcome the kids being up them and they return the favor by being up their kids butts…? I can see you t hasn’t changed. That’s pretty much it.

I will have to look - I didn't know Serena played. She had a rough round against Tan at Wimbledon but it was a long match at least. Had done doubles at Eastborne. She just played the Canadian and won a match before losing to Bencic and it wasn't that bad. So I get people saying she hasn't played in a year or two years or whatever - but...she has played a few things now. I just think Raducanu is way overrated so to me a 6-0 looks bad. I kind of thought Serena may be holding back a little bit and she had one more run in her that would be a surprise, but I think I'm wrong now. Aside from that I was watching a match recently - may have been California while the DC tournament was going on? But anyway it was Gauff and Lindsay was calling the match....and I wondered what Lindsay was smoking. She said a few times about Gauff being a favorite going into the US Open. Sorry Lindsay - I don't know who you're watching. She's been on the upswing and it's certainly approaching time for it to happen if it's going to happen and it's RIPE to happen given no one is blowing people off the court in the women's game right now - and Swiatek I thought would be the definite indestructible player after Barty left....but long story, there's an opening for sure in the women's game, and Gauff should walk right through the door...but the favorite or front runner? Uh, no. Put the weed down Linds. LOL.

It might be in this thread or somewhere else, but I've read it's not that they wiped them or disposed of them. I have read in multiple places that almost nothing is left from the 60's and 70's because they TAPED over them. They didn't just keep taping on new tapes....they would actually re-use tapes from about 5 to 10 years previous rotating them, just because of 'unnecessary' expense of constantly new tapes. Crazy, but that could be true. The only thing that makes it seem possibly NOT true is just honest to goodness reasoning - OR the fact that every now and then especially on P&G shows, we would see flashbacks or moments from a decade or more ago. Not often but some. And sometimes it could be an obscure scene that you would think - now why would they have saved that little scene? Which makes me lean toward someone somewhere has ALL of them given they used to do flashbacks. Or, in the case of Guiding Light (don't know if they did for World Turns), but GL had a series of tapes of 'best of' Reva Shayne moments, and I think there was one for Roger too. I don't own any of those and so I don't know what is on them....were they whole episodes or just a snippet tape with narration of each piece. But GL HAD to have had a decent history saved to have made some of those types of series tapes.

This all reminds me of a poster on another board years ago, and I'm not so sure she wasn't 100% correct. At times, she was kind of slammed on that board for being a little 'out there' with comments and stuff. But - I was on that board regularly in its heydey, and even kept my same name/handle when I found this board. Maybe this board was around then too, I just wasn't here. But - that board I am talking about was mediadoman.com. The poster I'm referring to was 'Rosebud'. She said numerous times - more times than you could count - almost on a DAILY basis when the subject of P&G and soaps would come up. She was part of an organized group that 'saved' Another World on several occasions. And she said she spoke to people VERY high in the chain at P&G and she was told - that P&G wanted OUT of the soap business COMPLETELY - and wanted NOTHING to do with it. The people she spoke with stated on numerous occasions and their opinion was that Soaps were done, there's no reason to keep it going, and NO one is interested. They don't even want the hassle of licensing or rights or ANYTHING. And this was why it was so important to save Another World. Because when it's gone, the remainder will not be far behind. I think about it often. And while she may not have been 100% correct - since they DID run AW on other channels after cancellation - her story and posts definitely are more correct than not. The other thing she said ALL the time was that P&G thinks they know it all - they know the best - because they almost single handedly INVENTED soaps as we know them now. And since THEY know best, NO one could possibly know anything MORE than they do. And when they're done - they are done - because SOAPS will be done.

Well it was kind of writing on the wall. I would have felt differently had she returned and mowed players down all the way to the finals repeatedly, and it's not that I think she can't do it or doesn't have the will to do it - it's that she's 40 and a mother. It's one thing to be a mother at 28, or 30, or 35 and do what we were expecting of her. Because at times she's been superhuman almost. But age gets you no matter who you are. Even when you think you know, I've just heard it too many times....and you don't. You don't know that motherhood will change you and to what extent. I think the competitive will was there - you can see it when she plays. But I feel like watching her is somewhat watching myself as I aged - and I always said, I like to win. I like playing, but I like winning. And when I feel like I'm not doing it at the skill level I did - I won't want to do it. I can't stand remembering what I was and comparing it to what I can do now. I feel like that's where she's at.

Thanks for posting. I agree - I was still on the ledge of feeling badly for her (kind of over it really), but this did it. Plenty of money for retirement and lifelong therapy. In the line from Truvy and Steel Magnolias, and a very well known phrase - come down off the cross Naomi, someone needs the wood.

Watching the DC Final. I never paid attention that Kyrgios has only won 7 titles? And Nishioka would make a pretty drag queen.
