Team Dani here too. Dani is all over the place but she does value Andre as a person. Ashley seems to be out just for a good time. She did dream about Andre telling her that he wore her out.

Scrubby Racist Guy is about to get shot. Probably not but the episode needed a cliffhanger. I noticed that he wasn't talking all the talk with Bill like he did with Martin. Obviously because Bill is a very large man. If Chelsea ditches Madison for Allison after she heavily pursued her then Chelsea is as crummy as her father. But Allison was giving a bit of stalker energy so things might take another direction. Leslie/Eva/Kat/Jacob felt a lot like filler. Kat's arrogance is going to work to Leslie's advantage. Very curious as to why Leslie and Hayley will be meeting up.

Procter and Gamble had a table at a Juneteenth celebration close to where I live. When I told the people running the table that I watch Beyond the Gates that P&G produces they didn't know what I was talking about, but tried to play it off. I almost felt dumb for mentioning it.

Nicole was way out of line and looked completely ridiculous. Like St. Daniel Jonas sanctimonious ridiculous. Whatever that prompt was Kat told Eva to ignore on the computer is going to come back as a problem and Eva will say Kat set her up.

Hayley wants to be on even ground with Dani. She even mentioned having two children with Bill which just so happens to be the number has with Dani. Plus, if her marriage did fall through having a baby would secure her many years of income. What her purpose in faking a pregnancy is not clear, but it could be she's trying to buy time to get pregnant and hopes Bill won't pay attention to the timeline or she's going to fake a miscarriage so that Bill will be more agreeable to having a baby.

She showed him an ultrasound a couple of weeks ago in the little slide show she put together.

I wondered who would eventually be the character delivering sermons from the mount and it turns out it is Nicole. It was not Ted's place to tell her Andre and Dani's business because it was none of her business. Furthermore she was acting like Dani was in state where she couldn't make rational decisions and that just wasn't the case. So Hayley is lying. That ultrasound she showed Bill before was probably off of Google Images. That's going to be a problem for her because Bill is not going to like being lied to.

Regardless of the ratings, Beyond the Gates' writing has been better than whatever Y&R has been doing. It has literally been random conversations for months with no real story. I checked out when Daniel was getting a guitar lesson in a coffee shop.

Seems like it's leaning towards being a robbery that went wrong. Vernon has practically said it wasn't Martin's fault and the constant mention of money by the racist waiter and his brother tried to rob Martin. Martin hit the brother with a tire iron and possible killed or injured him permanently.

If Hayley was faking pain then her timing was terrible because she pulled that number too quickly. Eva was being deliberately messy when she came over to Kat and Tomas' table. I get the sense that Kat decided she is ready just because of Eva and Tomas' conversation about reading the same book. I really could have done without Joey being in on Martin's secret.

Martin needs to go Stephanie Forrester Big Bear on that racist little weasel. Vernon's overly kind persona was a brilliant cover for his aggressive side. He practically dismantled Bill. The set up with Dani and Bill is almost like Knots Landing in the way that Abby said "the first Mrs Ewing never goes away". The flashback was interesting because Bill treated Dani like a partner as opposed to how he treats Hayley like she is still a mistress. Hayley probably won't go Jill and try to off Dani but she's going to feel threatened by Bill and Dani's paternal bond. I'm convinced that Leslie will end up being Kat's mother. They match each other with comebacks well and they both scheme (for good or bad). Plus the bond between Nicole and Eva is giving a lead up to them being related. Kat and Eva dueling for Nicole's attention and Leslie being left out is perfect soap.

That's a good point, I've heard the U-Haul joke before. That just might be what this is intended to be and of course Chelsea is being written as someone who is easily attached.

Jibre Hordges is 32 and Malachai Malik is 53 so the age gap isn't that small casting wise.

Vernon being more forceful was surprising. Whatever this incident Martin was in is clearly racial and the White resentment attitude is incorporated into it. NuTed finally managed to act with some concern about his marriage.

Ashley dreaming about Andre telling her that he wore her out was absolutely hilarious and telling. She really just wants sex from Andre. The appearance of June in this episode where Hayley mentioned not having any family just reinforces my thought that she is Hayley's sister. The speed that Chelsea is moving with Dr. Montgomery is ridiculous. Meeting the grandfather, mother and aunt all that same time so quickly was overwhelming.

Andre is a busy body. All he has done the past couple of episodes is run around trying to find out Ashley and Derek's business. It's honestly quite pathetic. Chelsea barely knows Dr. Montgomery and is already doing too much. Doug actually stepped it up and showed some courage which was nice to see. He actually came off as tougher than NuTed despite being a tougher situation.

Even with the less exciting episodes there is still advancement unlike with the other soaps where there are days worth of episodes with no story advancement and just repeated conversations.

I don't think him getting Carlton together would have at all been macho or "defending his property". After all, Ted and Nicole are still married and Carlton is trying to take advantage far too quickly. Compassionate isn't what he's coming off as, but more so have half-hearted. At least a little bit of indignation would have been good. Besides that, he now treats Leslie like a minor annoyance when she's a total nutcase. The disdain just isn't there like it should be.

It seems like Ted has been re-calibrated to fit Robinson's acting style.

NuTed gives recurring energy and seems watered down. Carlton played in his face by being disrespectful under the guise of jesting and Ted was like "meh".

I think the show has improved steadily as it's gone along. Building the relationships between the character is important and that seems to be a primary focus of the writers.

I get that everyone has opinions but every thing you post about the show is extremely critical so why are you still watching? It seems like you don't care for it.

Forgot to comment on Martin's secret. Could it be that he killed someone in self-defense during a robbery? "What color is your money?" sounds like something a robber would say.

Hayley was so mad when Dani was talking to Bill. The problem for Hayley is that Dani can carry on a conversation with Bill that doesn't shift into being about sex while almost everything Hayley talks about ends being about sex.

It would be totally hilarious if she turned out to be Leslie's daughter. Imagine how she would totally flip out.
