(EXT: LONDON, England- Edmund's Transylvanian Mansion) ----Edmund sits in his study, reading. He remembers talking to CC Capwell on the phone the week before and the thought brings a smile to his face. He's startled when Sophia appears in front of him, wearing an old-fashioned white satin robe of Loretta's, worn over her night gown. "Where did this come from? These things aren't mine........You changed me? Why would you do that?" "I didn't see any reason for you to remain in those same garbs you'd be wearing, so I had them washed. And I didn't actually change you- the nurse did, while you were resting. Your clothes actually should be clean by now- if you'd like, I could get them for you....." "That's not necessary.........I'm sorry if it sounded as though I were accusing you of something inappropriate......." "It's quite alright." Sophia tells him that she feels agitated, edgy almost. She also says she feels as though she's slept for days and her memories are muffled, blurry even. Edmund again tells her that it's just a side effect of the treatments, which he tells her, have been far more effective since she began hypnosis. He goes so far as to show her two separate x-rays and charts, highlighting the differences and improvements in the results. Sophia admits to feeling far more relaxed after having their sessions and wonders if the agitation she's experiencing could be related. Edmund explains that since the sessions are so intensive on a specific portion of the brain, that it actually causes some stress to the area, after an initial period of relief. He relates it to going through withdrawal- just like a hangover, the best thing to fix it would be a session. She agrees and asks when they begin, but he tells her to be patient, that he doesn't want to overwhelm her. "I'm not overwhelmed- really I'm not. I just want to get through this and be healthy again. Please. When can we begin?" Edmund smiles at her, looking her over in Loretta's clothing. "Please go wait for me in the study then. I'll be in shortly." (EXT: LAS VEGAS, Nevada- Caesar's Palace) ---Keith & Elizabeth's room is shown, a mess of clothes and tiny empty bottles of liquor. The camera pans up to the bed, where they are laying side by side, apparently wearing nothing at all. Elizabeth wakes up, immediately grabbing her head and then covering herself when she realizes she isn't dressed. She looks at the bed next to her and sees Keith sleeping, with something of a grin on his face. She reaches for her robe and puts it on, adjourning herself to the bathroom. She splashes water on her face and walks back out, putting on a pot of coffee. When she has it brewing, she notices a DVD with TIMMONS PARTY written on it. "I wonder what this could be.....something from the hotel maybe? Maybe that's how they bill you here now.......wait. I should've known- they probably want money- Keith was probably Cheating at Black Jack!" She puts the DVD Player and turns it on. She's confused by the menu that appears, remarking it seems awfully fancy for surveillance footage. She clicks on play and hears a honkey tonk version of the Wedding March play. She laughs when she sees Keith at the altar, with the wacky looking priest standing next to him. She wonders aloud who the fool was that married him at 4 AM. She's horrified when she sees herself, walking down the aisle, carrying a plastic bouquet. "Oh My GOD- KEITH!!!!!! KEITH WAKE UP!!!!!!" (EXT: Capwell Enterprises) ----Ted stops by CC's office, who's in a meeting with Joann. Ted apologizes for interrupting but Joann tells him it's quite alright, that they were just talking about him. Ted asks what she means and CC tells him that there's a convention in New York that he attends every year, but doesn't really feel up to going this year. It's important that someone be there to reperesent the company, since many of their distributors, contacts, and customers are going to be present. He says that Joann thought that Ted would be the perfect choice to go. "Me? Why me?" he asks her. "Your father has a lot of faith in you Ted, as do I. No offense to your sisters- hell, I'm a woman myself, but this tends to be more of a boys club kinda thing- sexist pigs, cigars, whiskey, you know the bit. There's plenty of downtime and socializing, not as stiff as business as usual- and there definitely would be opportunities there for you to expand your network . What do you think? Is it too much? I know your mom just died and you're a newlywed and all...." "Actually, it's perfect. It's exactly what I need right now." "What's perfect?" Angela asks, walking into the office with some paperwork in her hands. "Ted's just agreeing to attend a week-long convention in New York, in place of his father." "Oh he did, did he? Congratulations, Ted. When do you leave?" "I don't know....Joann....when...?" "Later this afternoon actually, since you lose three hours going and the kick-off breakfast is at 8 tomorrow morning- you'll need to be rested of course" "Of course" he replies. "Well that's just wonderful. You have a good time in New York- excuse me....." Angela says, her anger mounting. Ted excuses himself to go after her. (EXT: LAS VEGAS, Nevada- Caesar's Palace) ---Keith is as stunned as Elizabeth when he sees them getting married. He tells her it must have been some kind of joke and asks her if she remembers even going to the chapel. "No, Keith, I think I'd recollect the Elvis-inspired music and the minister in the gold-sequined cloak! Not to mention what looks to be his 90 year old mother throwing rice at us.....My GOD! What have we done?" Keith laughs and insists it must be some kind of joke, that no way would either of them agree to do anything like that legally. He also says that even if they did, nobody in their right mind would have legally married them, seeing how intoxicated they were. "Nobody? Nobody would let that happen?" "Yeah, nobody.....nobody with any sense. I mean, who would you think would let two people sauced out of their brains get hitched?" "Who? THOSE people, that's who Keith!" she says, pointing to the minister on the screen, who is putting on his star-shaped sunglasses and sits down at the piano, breaking out in the honkey-tonk version of the end march, with his 90 year old mother stroking the chords on the guitar. Elizabeth insists that they go down there and talk to these people, and find out what the hell is going on. Keith agrees, but excuses himself to the restroom first. He goes in, splashing some water on his face. The camera pans up to his face, his devilish eyebrows arched. He begins to smirk at himself, mutterring "Elizabeth Timmmons" and bursts into full-blown hysterics. "WHAT ARE YOU LAUGHING ABOUT IN THERE?" "NOTHING!!!!........." He looks at the mirror and grins. "Nothing at all...." (EXT: London, England) ----Edmund walks into his small office and sees Sophia already laying down on the couch, waiting for him. "My you are anxious today, aren't you?" "It's hard to explain...to put my finger on.....but almost like a thirst.....like my brain is thirsty for the treatment...." "I understand, believe me I do. Patients before you have said the very same thing. I'm just so pleased with your enthusiasm is all." Sophia tells him that she's just ready to get better and back to her normal life. She remarks that it's London she's in, such a beautiful city, and she can't even enjoy it because of her condition. Edmund promises to take her sightseeing as soon as she's up to it. "But first....." "Yes...I know,, I need to get well.....so let's begin- I'm ready." "We shall.......Concentrate on a place where you're happy- could be a beach, a picnic, the mountains, whatever brings you such serenity. Listen to the sound of my voice as the breeze brushes gently over your face, slightly blowing your hair. Focus in on the sound of my voice as I count back from 30. When I land on 1, I'll snap my fingers twice and your mind will be completely relaxed, completely open, and ready to take in rather than let out. 30.....29......28......27..........26........25......" He smiles as he counts, watching her drift off and a serene, almost vacant look comes over her face. (THE END.............until later.......)

I LOVE Writing RTSB, but the pace is suicidal and I think caught up with me today. As much as I wanted to have a 5 episode week, I'm slowing down this week and only doing 4. It's one of those days where no matter how hard I try to get started on it, I can't get going so, I'm calling it a day. I just can't get into a rhythm today and don't want the episode to suffer because of it. RTSB will definitely return tomorrow and the week will continue, as scheduled.

I could always take or leave Lucas, though I really have grown to love Datillo and respect him as an actor. My interest is peaked with Sami's new love interest though! I've really got to get caught up, I'm like a week behind right now!

This week, Renee Jones makes her Return To Santa Barbara debut in the short term role of Nurse Sherri Rhodes. Sherri, of course, is the nurse who was supposed to have been in the delivery room when Mary's daughter was stillborn. RTSB executive producer juniorz is said to be ecstatic to have Renee aboard. "She's perfect for this part- it actually worked out quite nicely for both sides, since Ms. Jones didn't want to commit to something long-term, with the possibility of her return to DAYS still looming. I couldn't be more thrilled to have her here!" The role is recurring. In other news, it's official: Joseph Bottoms will be returning to RTSB as Kirk Cranston, just in time for February Sweeps. Which can't mean good things for Cruz & Eden fans. "I'm keeping a tight lid on what I have planned for Kirk, but don't expect to see the cartoon pirate villain you last saw on 'Santa Barbara.' Kirk is no longer a wanted man and is actually a very successful business man in Mexico and Central America. But of course, like everyone on RTSB, he has an agenda." juniorz comments. Expect to see Kirk back before the week is out. The role is contract. Additionally, Jared Leto has finished touring and we were able to woo him to come on as Steve Hall, as he was originally cast. Steve is a drifter in his early 20s who will encounter Adriana & Samantha. Expect to see him sometime in the coming weeks. Leto is also on contract. In other news, Joseph Gallison's name has been removed from the recurring cast crawl. Though I plan to use Joe & Dr. Normandy in the future, there are no imminent plans for the character. Eden sits on the couch pretending to read the newspaper, obviously annoyed with him. He looks at her and smiles at her stubborness. "OK, I'm headin out." "OK. Bye." "That all you're gonna say, darlin? Bye?" "I don't see why I can't go with you." "Heh-ho, we're gonna go through that again are we? I told you Eden this isn't some business trip- it could be dangerous..." "All the more reason why I should be there. Or Vic. Or anybody besides you and Angel." "We're gonna be fine, baby, you gotta trust me is all. These guys were pretty specific about how they want things to go down- and we got backup from the Embassy while we're down there. It's gonna be ok." Eden complains that, once again, it's her husband that's plucked into the middle of danger. Cruz laughs a little at her frustration, which only further annoys her. He tries to make nice and kiss her, but she won't have it. He says that he owes this to Angel, that if it weren't for the investigation, his daughter wouldn't be in this mess to begin with. He reminds her of how they felt when Adriana was kidnapped as a baby and tells her to imagine how that would feel again now. Eden makes him promise not to be gone long and he assures her he'll be back before she knows it. He kisses her, which she allows this time. "I'd better get going" he says, as he picks up his duffel bag and opens the door. "Cruz?" "Yeah darlin?" She walks up to him and wraps her arms around him. "Be careful. Please. Be careful." "I will. Try not to worry too much darlin. Take care of A while I'm gone." "You call me the second you get there." she says, as he's getting in his car. (EXT: LAS VEGAS, Nevada- Caesar's Palace) ----The hustle & bustle of the casino in Caesar's Place is shown, with bells ringing, coins falling, roulette wheels spinning and the usual excitement by the craps table. Keith is shown dressed in his suit and tie, sucking on a cigar and drinking his whiskey and coke. He's at the Black Jack Table, with Elizabeth seated behind him. The dealer is shown with a 6 showing, Keith having 11. The dealer points at his cards and Keith doubles his bet, asking for a double down. The dealer hits him with a 10, the rest of the table stays and the dealer busts. He then begins shuffling the next shoe. "Where did you learn to play like that?" Elizabeth asks him. "My sister, Katie, actually. One of her boyfriends taught her and she turned me onto it. The trick is to keep in mind you're not playing for yourself, but rather, against the dealer." "How old is she now?" "Who?" "Your sister." Keith tells Elizabeth that his sister would have been 43 this year. Elizabeth realizes she passed and apologizes for bringing it up. Keith says for her not to worry, that he likes remembering her. The cocktail waitress brings them another round of drinks. They toast to being the hell away from Santa Barbara and its population. "I'll drink to that" Elizabeth smiles. They gulp their drinks down and Keith suggests they take in a show, as he orders them more drinks. Elizabeth remarks that she feels as though she hasn't stopped and relaxed since they got in town. "This is Vegas, baby. There's no time for sleepin or relaxin- just drinkin and gamblin! Bartender! A couple of tequilas for the lady and I" "Tequila? I haven't done a shot of tequila in years!" "Scared?" He squints at her and smiles his devilish smile. "Fat chance. I have to warn you, though, Mr. Timmons. I've out-drank man twice your size in my day." Keith arches his eyebrows up and down at her and takes the shots from the bartender, giving Elizabeth a good laugh. (EXT: Mason & Julia's House) ----Rafe works on the exercises with Samantha, who gets frustrated when she loses her balance. That frustration is quickly lifted when Rafe helps her up and they share a close moment. Unfortunately, they are interrupted as Mason walks through the front door. He is thrilled with the progress he sees Samantha has made and thanks Rafe for his efforts, apologizing to him for how he treated him after the accident. Rafe tells him not to worry about it, that he'd have reacted the same way if it were his own daughter. Samantha asks Mason if he's moving back home, but he tells her that won't be happening quite yet. He actually is stopping by to tell them he's going on a short trip. Samantha gets upset, and Rafe excuses himself, telling Samantha they're done for the day and Mason to have a safe trip. "Where are you going? Does this have to do with her?" she asks him. "If you're referring to Mary, then yes, it does. We've hired Pearl Bradford to dig up information on the Clinic where our baby supposedly died. He followed up on some leads and they all point to this nurse, Sherri Rhodes, in West Palm Beach. The three of us are flying out there tomorrow, hoping to talk with her and get the information we need." Samantha admits she's upset, especially after his not being around for the holidays because of Mary. She asks Mason point blank if he's leaving her mother to go back to his ex-love. Mason insists he's doing nothing of the sort, but that he needs to find out the truth about his daughter, that he owes it to her. "And what about me? What about mom? What about what you owe to us? Do we even count anymore?" "Of course you do, Samantha, I love you with all my heart. You'll always be my little girl, no matter what happens with this child. I will always love you and your mother, you know that. This is just something I...I....have to do....." Samantha is still annoyed but is unable to resist when Mason asks her for a hug and kiss good-bye. As they embrace, Julia arrives home. They see her and Samantha offers to go to her room, to give them some privacy. She heads upstairs as Mason & Julia share an awkward silence." "How is your mother?" "She's fine, much better thanks. I stayed with her for a while after you left, comforted her. She finally calmed down, after a little while, apologizing for having embarassed me. I told her that she hadn't, but......you know mother...." "Yes, all too well. So what brings you by?......Not that I mind you stopping by to see Samantha, of course you're welcome to..." "I'm actually here to see you." "Oh? What about?" Mason explains everything that happened with Pearl and the investigation. He tells Julia about Nurse Rhodes and explains that they thought it would be good for him to be present, with his law expertise, and Mary as well, since it would obviously be much tougher to lie to her in person. She asks him where they're going and he says West Palm Beach, FL. "And how long will the two of you be away together for?" "It's not like that Julia. We're not together." "You're going to Palm Beach. She's going to Palm Beach. You're taking the same flight, staying in the same room I'm sure, I'd call that going away together...." "We'll have separate beds....and Pearl's going to be with us......" "He get his own bed too?" "No, he's in his own room.........Julia, nothing's happened believe me and nothing's going to happen. I'm still committed to you, married to you." "On paper, yes." "No, Julia, in my heart too.....this is just something I have to do- my daughter could be out there somewhere, as much alive as Mary. I have to at least try to find her. Can't you understand?" "I understand perfectly, Mason- I understand that you're setting yourself up for quite a fall.....for one thing, you don't even know for sure she's alive, for another........Mason, I hate to remind you of this, but we really have no way of knowing WHO her father is even if she is alive...." "I know that, Julia, I do, which is why I have to find answers....." "By all means, find them. Just be realistic, Mason- don't get caught up in a fantasy and have reality step in and tear it apart. Know what you're doing, but please, please don't set yourself up to get hurt..." She opens the door and asks him to leave, telling him not to come back until he's resolved his issues- not only those he has with his daughter but his feelings for Mary as well. He looks at her and says good-bye. Noticing the hurt hiding behind her steely exterior, Mason runs his hand down Julia's face and bends down to kiss her passionately. He walks out the front door, with Julia peeking out the little windows on top, watching him go. She turns around and leans against the door, placing her hand over her mouth to silence the sound of her cry. (EXT: LAS VEGAS, Nevada) ----Keith and Elizabeth are shown laughing as they walk out of the show, holding each other up. They continue to laugh as Keith lights up his cigar and orders a round of drinks from the bartender. Elizabeth mentions she'd like to freshen up but Keith tells her to hurry- that the night is still young. (EXT: Cruz & Eden's House) ---Eden sounds off to Rafe about Cruz's trip to Mexico. Rafe comforts his sister-in-law, telling her Cruz can take good care of himself. Eden says that sometimes, that attitude is what gets him into trouble, especially when he's caught by surprise. Rafe assures her everything will go smoothly as Adriana arrives home. Adriana asks them what's going on and Eden fills her daughter in. "What? We gotta go down there mom, we have to- someone has to make sure he's okay." "We can't, baby, something like that could jeopardize Marta's situation and I won't do that. Besides, even though we now know these guys were after Marta, your dad still wants you sticking close to home. He has guys on the force watching you round the clock." "Yeah, I noticed. I told one of em off when he actually had the nerve to double park next to me while I was using the ATM.....Seriously, mom, I don't know about this. Something's not right about the story you guys told me- something doesn't fit......Damnit, why can't I remember?" "Don't beat yourself up, honey, like your uncle said, your dad can take good care of himself- he'll be back home with us before you know it." She takes her daughter in her arms and comforts her, while sharing a concerned look with Rafe. FLASH TO Cruz & Angel, driving down the California highways toward Mexico. FLASH TO Mason, driving in his car back to Mary's suite, remembering the kiss he shared with Julia. FLASH TO Julia, sitting at home with Samantha, eating dinner alone together. Samantha takes Julia's hand in hers and offers a comforting smile. FLASH TO Bobby & Cisco, driving up the highway of Mexico, with Marta sleeping in the back seat. Cisco chews on a toothpick and smiles. The screen splits with Bobby, Cisco, and Marta on one side and Cruz & Angel on the other. Cisco & Cruz speak simultaneously. Cruz: They won't know what hit em. Cisco: He won't know what hit him. THE END......................for the week!

All that sounds good. By the way, I LOVED Sarah Brown as Carly; didn't care much for Tamara though. I would, however, be curious to see Gina T in the role or even a completely different direction. And I CAN'T WAIT to see what you have planned for the climax of the mayoral race!

The bags under her eyes tell of the lack of sleep she was able to muster the night before. Angel walks in wearing his grey sweat pants and a white t-shirt. He opens the blinds covering the small window over their sink to let in measured amount of dusky light. He takes the cross at the end of his gold chain and kisses it with his lips. He pours himself a cup of coffee and brings it to the table, kissing his wife on her forehead before sitting down. "Good Morning. Sleep okay?" She shakes her head it him. "You?" He shakes his head back. "Barely a wink." "Every time I was able to drift off, these images of our little girl- frightened, crying, being tortured all ran through my head. I could see her, begging for me to do something and I was so......helpless. I couldn't reach her, touch her, comfort her. My baby, why did they have to take my baby girl? If they do anything to hurt her Angel, anything, God help me....." "Aye, mira, I know. Just trust me when I tell you everything is gonna work out just fine." "I want to, there's nothing I want more in the world. But she's out there somewhere, Marta's out there all by herself, dealing with whatever torment these guys are putting her through...." Carla begins to further rant, and bursts into tears. Angel can take no more and pulls his wife into his arms. He keeps telling her that Marta is fine, but she continues sobbing. He tells her that if they just follow the instructions they're given to a "T", everybody will be okay and Marta won't be hurt. Carla stops crying for a minute and pulls away from Angel, looking over his face and meeting his eyes. "My God, you sounded like one of them just now." "What? You need some sleep..." "Don't tell me- I know you Angel. You know something." Angel gets up from the table, turning his back to her. "You don't know what you're talkin about- listen to yourself...." "I'm very clear on what I'm saying. Look at me, Angel." She puts her hand on his shoulder, brushing down his arm and turning him around when their hands meet. "Look at me. If you're holding out on me with anything, I mean anything- now is the time you come clean." Angel just continues looking back at her and Carla refuses to break her stare. (EXT: Capwell Enterprises) ---Gina sits at her desk, fidgeting with her earrings while pretending to work on her computer. Kathleen buzzes her office and tells her that Keith is on the line for her. Gina immediately snatches up the phone. "Keith, WHERE the HELL are YOU?...............Las Vegas? What are you doing in Las............With HER?!?............Yes, I understand the kind of information that we have over them now but what use is.............Are you KIDDING ME? I'm dying to talk to CC about this- why would I wait?!?......Keith?.......Keith?!?........KEITH?!?" She slams the phone down as Angela enters her office. "Lovers quarrel?" she taunts. "SAVE IT ANGELA!" she screams directly in her ear, causing Angela to back away as she covers it. "I figured after all those martinis you were sucking down last night, you'd enjoy that. You spent more time nursing a drink than you did with your husband." "I wouldn't read into that very much, Gina. Ted's just going through a rough time with his mother's death and all. We're quite happy and he's quite satisfied." "Didn't look that way last night when he was dancing with my daughter. What do you want anyway?" Angela informs her that she's been assigned to oversee Gina Jeans, effective immediately and there are some changes she's going to be making. Gina informs her that all of the creative decisions are made by herself and Lily. Angela agrees, but says that she'll be taking things over from a business standpoint, since she & her daughter obviously have no business experience or sense for that matter. Angela asks for the latest sales figures as well as an outline of the 2007 budget. Gina digs up the sales figures and mentions she and Lily were actually going over the budget the day before. When she is unable to find it, she realizes that she must have left her copy in Lily's office downstairs. Gina buzzes Lily's office but nobody picks up. Gina offers for her to wait & she'll try her cell but Angela tells her she'll pick them up in person. "Suit yourself. If there's nothing else, Angela, I really have a lot of work to be doing...." "Sure. You go right ahead Gina. I'll be back later in the day to go over the revised budget. Until then.......don't break any nails pretending to type." Angela smirks at her and walks off. (EXT: Bradford Investigations Pearl Bradford, P.I.) ----Pearl sits at his desk, listening to his recordings of his interviews with former employees of the San Remos Clinic. Mary and Mason knock on the door and he's happy to let them in, telling them he has news. "Good, we're anxious to hear it." Mason says. "I tell ya it's been a world- I feel like I've been all through the midwest the past few days. I talked to a good amount of doctors on your list and 1 or 2 nurses. Good news is, their stories all match up, many of them not having seen each other in many years. They all say the same thing: none of em was in the room when your little girl was born Mary." "Which puts us back to square one." Mary says quietly. "Not necessarily. I did learn something interesting, that one of the nurses opened up about." "Oh? Who? What did they tell you, Pearl?" Mason asks, anxiously. "It was a Nurse Hodges, older woman, real nice lady, retired shortly before you woke up but......" "She checked up on me. She actually came to visit me after I woke up, in the clinic. In all her years, she said, she never saw doctors fight as hard as Mark and his team did for me. She told me that after almost a year in the coma, they were all ready to give up, my vitals were declining as I'd come down with an infection. She was the one who insisted to Mark that there was hope, that I was special she felt. She told me she held my hand the entire day, placing a rosary and praying the Virgin Mary would give her a sign....She told me that I woke up very briefly & smiled at her that night, with another nurse to witness it. I'll never forget her. How is she?" "Pretty spry for an 88 year old woman. She said to send you her best." "What did you learn from her Pearl? What did she say?" "According to Nurse Hodges, Mark wasn't the only person allowed in the room. Someone else was in there with him during the delivery, a nurse who assisted him. She wasn't anybody from your list and I checked into her a bit.......Young girl, probably only in her late teens at the time you were brought in. In fact, she was only working at the clinic as an intern, as she hadn't completed her schooling yet. Kinda lose track of her for a while, so I had a buddy of mine look into a little bit further. He got her number, but she doesn't return any of my calls, even though I haven't said what it was in reference too. Her name's Rhodes. Sherri Rhodes- last residence known is in West Palm Beach, Florida. It sounds like a pretty good lead and I was gonna follow it myself, but I wanted to bring it to your attention first, in case she clams up on me. If they got somethin to hide....they often do, which is why it would be best to have you there with me for the interview, Mary." "She'd be much harder pressed to lie directly to me, if she's hiding something at all. Makes sense. I'll do it- I'll do whatever it takes. When do we leave?" "First thing tomorrow morning." "I'm going with you" Mason interrupts. Mary insists that he needs to stay with his family and says she can do this alone, but Mason is unwilling to budge. He says his skills as a lawyer will come in handy when they talk to her and Pearl is inclined to agree. Mason says that it's settled and asks Pearl to book them the earliest flight he can for the next day. Mary isn't sure that it's a good idea but Mason reassures her. She says that Julia won't like him going across the country with her but Mason says that Julia will understand, especially if there's any chance that his daughter could be alive. (EXT: Capwell Enterprises) ----Ted swings by Lily's office, peeking in at her sitting in front of her design board, wearing her glasses and vigorously sketching. Ted sneaks up on her and comments that he likes what he sees. Lily tells him it's a work in progress, but she hopes the spring line will be a success. She thanks Ted for apologizing to her last night and says it meant a lot to her. "I meant it Lil. I really did...." "You hurt me- bad, Ted, really bad. I wish a simple apology were enough to make it better....but....it just isn't...." Ted understands, saying that he can't blame her for not jumping at the chance to forgive him, after the humiliation he put her through. He does, however, tell her that he plans to make up for it and work to regain her trust and respect again. She says she appreciates it, though it's going to take more than just a friendly dance to work off that kind of debt. "Oh, is that so Ms. Blake? Well I happen to know something that you don't...." "You do huh? And what's that?" "That no matter how hard you try, you can't find it in yourself to stay mad at me....." He starts tickling her and she begins laughing telling him to stop. As he does this, Angela arrives at Lily's office to retrieve the budget. She is stunned and heartbroken by what she sees, and decides to leave before they can see she was there at all. (EXT: The Ramirez House) ----Cruz and Julia arrive and ask Angel if they've heard anything yet. Angel says that they haven't and it's beginning to make him nervous. Julia tells them it's what usually goes on in a kidnapping- the perpetrators say they're going to do one thing then do something else, just to keep the family on their toes. Julia hands Angel the copy of the waiver, telling him it's notorized and she's signed it herself. All it needs is his signature and everything will be on the up and up. As he's signing it, Angel remarks that he didn't think Cruz would let it go into effect. "It's not gonna go into effect, pal, not if I have anything to say about it. We're gonna get these guys and we're gonna nail Esteban, believe that." Angel finishes signing the papers as Carla walks away from them at the table, looking out the window. "I can't imagine how you must feel" Julia says, walking toward her. "I know if it were my daughter being talked about as if I weren't in the room, I'd be throwing a fit. We're gonna get her back for you, Carla. Cruz is going to bring her back, I promise you that" Julia pats Carla's shoulder with her hand as the woman's eyes well up with tears, still staring out the window. FLASH TO (MEXICO, a small house) ----Bobby and Cisco sit at the table eating their breakfast, as Marta sits there, not touching her food. "Ain't you gonna eat?" Bobby asks her. "You told my dad you were gonna call early" she says, ignoring him. "If I know him, he's probably driving himself mad with worry...." "We're gonna call your 'papi' don't worry sweetheart. But for now- eat. You need the nourishment." "I'm not eating until I've spoken to my father." "For Christ's sakes, you're gonna talk to him, just relax." Cisco says. She stares back at him, still not budging. "Look, haven't we been good to ya since ya gave us the information we wanted? Obviously, we ain't tryin to hurt ya.....or kill ya...........Nobody's calling him til Bobby there finishes his biscuits and gravy, his grits, and that damn banana muffin he scarfs down every morning, so you may as well eat...." He smiles at her and she gives him a snotty look, motioning almost mockingly with her face. He keeps smiling at her and she lets out a sigh before picking up her fork and starting to eat. FLASH TO (EXT: The Ramirez House) ----Cruz, Julia, and Angel sit around the table waiting while Carla continues staring out the window, still dressed in her robe. The phone rings, breaking her stare as she turns around to watch Angel answer it. "Hello?" "HOLA, Ramirez!" "Where's Marta? I want to talk to my daughter...." "Not so fast, Ramirez, did you arrange everything we asked for?" "Yes, everything is ready......just as you asked.....Now let me talk to her!!!" "Okay, okay" Cisco motions Marta over. "Dad?" "Marta, mija, are you okay?" "I'm fine dad, I am. Don't worry about me. How are things goin there? Is mom doin okay?" "Mom's fine, baby, she's fine" "Yeah, right, she's got the bags don't she? Tell her I'm okay and I love her and I'll see her soon...." She hands the phone to Cisco. "I will baby, I will...." "Can it, Ramirez, it's me. Drive to Baja, Mexico. We'll be driving up there as well. Check into the Royal Flamingo Hotel, Room 207, and wait for further instructions from us. Be there by 5 PM tonight, no later. And remember, make sure he comes with you....." "Don't worry. Everything will go exactly as you wish. Just don't harm my baby girl." The phone line goes dead as Cruz and Julia comfort Carla in the background, while a look of fear and contempt comes over Angel's face as he lowers the cordless phone back onto its charger. Sorry about yesterday you guys but there's a nasty bug going around my work that I unfortunately have caught. I slept for 12 HOURS LAST NIGHT!!!! Mason rushes to his mother's side and helps her up. "It's just like you to disrupt this entire party Pamela- typical of the Pamela Pepperidge that I've always known." CC says. Mason continues helping his mother stand on her own two feet. He offers to take her up to her room and get her out of there. "I think that's a good idea, Mason" "Save it Eden. The rest of you have made a mockery of my mother her entire life, whether it be to her face or behind her back..." Pamela interrupts him. "There's no need for you to defend me darling, I'm quite alright." She turns and looks directly at CC, who is still staring at her. "Pamela, why don't you do us all a favor and...." "And what CC? Disappear? Go far, far away and let you all push me out like you always have? I'm so sorry to disappoint you CC, but the days of you and your family pushing me around ended long ago." "What is this, Pamela? Seriously, why are you chasing my father around like a fool and causing a scene at a party given in honor of my marriage? Haven't you done enough to me?" Kelly asks. "That's just like you, dear, making things all about you. But that isn't the case, is it CC? Care to tell all of us what it was you were discussing with Elizabeth, causing her to go running out of here in a frenzy?" "Frankly, after all the damage that woman caused, I can't say I'm sorry that she's gone in the first place, Pamela. Actually, it's about time dad stood up for mom, even if it was too late....." Ted says. "Now, Ted" CC tries to calm him. "Really, Ted? That's what you think? My she really did have you all fooled, all of you in this room. Did you ever stop and think that perhaps her sister has been given great reason to hate your mother? How is it that when anyone has been scorned by anyone in this family, somehow, all of you are able to turn it around and make yourselves the victim? Particularly in the case of Sophia..." Julia walks up and tries to stop her and help Mason get her to her room, but Pamela is resistant, saying that there are a few things she has to say to the people in the room, and she isn't going anywhere until she's said it. (EXT: Limousine, driving on the Santa Barabara highways, stops at a trendy bar) ----Elizabeth tells Keith that she's grateful that he followed her, though she does think it unnecessary. Keith insists that he's not going to let Elizabeth be alone and that as her date, it's his duty to make sure she get home safely. "My, I didn't realize you were so chivalrous...." she says. "There's a lot of things you don't know about me..." They approach the bar and Keith orders a dry martini for Elizabeth and a bourbon and coke for himself. Elizabeth asks Keith why he's been so supportive of her, even to the point of doting. Keith tells her that there's something about her he likes and finds fascinating. He remarks that it doesn't hurt that she's incredibly beautiful. "When you say that, I almost believe it...." "Believe it..." Keith says, as he kisses her. Elizabeth finishes her drink and orders another, apologizing for her behavior at the party, especially running out without finding him first. Keith says that he understands and if she'd like to, she can feel safe opening up to him. Elizabeth thanks him for the sentiment but insists that all she wants to do is forget about the Capwells and try to enjoy her evening. Elizabeth looks up and sees the news on television, featuring a quick snippet of high society- CC Capwell talking about his daughter Kelly's return to the company and her new husband. "Everywhere I go around here it seems one of them is right there, staring me in the face!" "Welcome to Santa Barbara, land of the Capwells, Elizabeth. They're like bad pennies- one disappears, then two more show up. It's their never-ending family tree that populates half this town......" "I see what you mean" "Not to mention your company merged with CC's. Not exactly the best way to go about avoiding the Capwells." She laughs a frustrated laugh as she realizes that all of this is of her own making. She mentions wishing she could just get away from it all, if only for a view days. Keith tells her that he sees no reason why they can't. He mentions that she must have access to the company jet, which she does. "But where would we go?" Elizabeth asks. "Where would we go.....where would we go...." Keith's mind starts spinning and it dawns on him. "VEGAS!" "Vegas?" "Yeah, Vegas. You need a change of luck as much as a change of scenery, Liz. There's no better place for that than Las Vegas..." She smiles a bit at the idea, looking at him and he stares back at her, excitedly nodding in approval. (EXT: The Capwell Hotel) ---Pamela stands facing CC in the middle of the room, with Julia and Mason slightly behind her on either side. "Mason, DO something!" Ted says. "What do you propose I do, Ted? Physically carry her out of the room?" "If that's what it takes, then yes" Kelly chimes in Eden tells Adriana she wants her to go home with Rafe and Samantha. Adriana insists that she wants to stay but Eden will not allow her daughter to be subjected to what she can see is about to happen. She tells her to go and Cruz offers to leave with she and Rafe. Finally, she agrees, but Samantha refuses, saying that Pamela is her grandmother and she'd like to hear whatever it is she has to say. "All of you, every single one of you were so blind to her. My God, she killed your brother Channing in cold blood." "That was an accident," Kelly interrupts. "Some accident. Tell me, do you consider it normal behavior to try to scare an ex-lover with a gun Kelly? Is that what my Jeffrey would have had in store for him had he remained married to you? Pay attention, Ashton, you may learn something." "That's quite enough. I think it's time you leave!" CC says as he grabs her by the arm. She again pushes away from him. "I'm not going anywhere, CC, nowhere at all. Why is it that you are so afraid to face the truth, all of you? That woman intentionally stole my husband, my life, and used my persona as a means to do it. She dressed like me, imitated me even, in hopes of winning the love of a man that she couldn't have cared less about at the time. She was cold, calculated, and deliberate with her moves, removing me from my own home and attempting to remove me from my own son's thoughts and heart. And what did she do when she finally won? When she finally had everything she wanted? She carried on her affair with Lionel Lockridge behind all of your backs, and eventually faked her death because of it. I think you of all people should remember that part of your mother's history quite well, don't you Eden?" "That's exactly what it all is, Pamela, ancient history. Why is it that the rest of us have been able to let it go, but you, for some reason, persist on dredging it all up every chance you get?" Eden fires back. "Perhaps because she can't forgive all of you for the dismissive way in which you treat her, much in the same way you dismiss everyone who's lives you destroy." Warren throws back. "That's a part of it, Warren, but it's more than that. I, unlike Eden, Kelly, CC, and Ted, don't just conveniently forget all of the inconvenient truths about Sophia. Lest we forget she was well aware of who she was when she returned with the intention of shooting your father.....er, Lionel. And did she bother to tell anyone in her family, including the husband and son she so callously stole from me? No, she didn't. No she went back into hiding and accepted the convenient lie that her step-son Marcello told her after she SHOT HER OWN SON! And a man went to prison and many were accused, all because of the lies of Sophia Wayne Capwell. But yet, everyone acts as if she's this saint and anyone who speaks against her needs to have their head examined for feeling so negatively about her. You jump at her sister, but have any of you even bothered to find out what your mother did to her? Because I'm sure it doesn't even compare to the minor humiliation of being barred from your husband's company. Hell, I'm living proof of what Sophia was capable of.... The only mistake I made today was trying to give any sort of comfort to you, CC. Because I felt sorry for you. They see their daughter and immediately walk over to her. Julia hugs her and is elated to see her on her feet. Samantha directs them to her cane, saying that she's not 100% but she and Rafe will be working on it. Adriana sees her own mother and leaves to give them all some time together. Rafe follows her. "I'm just walking 50 feet to my mom Uncle Rafe. I doubt anything is going to happen to me...." "If you're walking 50 feet, then so am I." She looks at him. "Hey, I'm under strict orders from my brother..." Adriana gives in and lets him follow her. Eden tells her daughter how beautiful she looks but Adriana immediately wants to know where her father is. Eden explains that Cruz is over at Angel & Carla's house, waiting for contact from the kidnappers. Adriana realizes that this means they've heard from them and asks what she knows. Eden sees Kelly and Ashton walking up and tells Adriana that this isn't the right time to discuss that. Kelly introduces Ashton to her niece and Rafe. He again takes Adriana's hand and kisses it. "My you're so lovely- much like your aunt here.......and you're own mother of course..." he says. "Thanks so much. If you'll excuse me, I see some people over there I'd like to talk to. It was nice meeting you...." "Likewise" ----Pamela finds CC in the back room, sitting and looking quite somber. She is unable to resist temptation and enters the room. "It's a lovely party..." she says. "What do you want, Pamela?" "I was just wondering why you aren't out there enjoying yourself with everyone else is all. Is it Sophia ? What am I saying, of course it is. I saw her sister, Elizabeth I believe, running out of here, crying. She didn't do anything to upset you, did she?" He quickly realizes that it's a telemarketer calling and angrily hangs up on them. "Aye! I can't take this....waiting when God only knows what they're doing to my baby." he says "You can't think like that man. They contacted you earlier. They're gonna call." "Easy for you to say" Carla interrupts "If it weren't for you.......no, both of you, my baby girl wouldn't be with those animals right now. Some police protection by the way." "Hey, my little girl was almost abducted too and don't think for a second that you can beat up on me any more than I already have myself. I'd do anything if they were both safe right now." "But they're not safe, are they detective?" Carla retorts "Adriana is safe, yes, but my baby, my Marta is out there somewhere....." The phone rings before she can go on and all three of them freeze. It rings again and Carla motions for Angel to pick it up. He answers. "Hello" "Papi!" Marta says, shown tied up on the other end of the line. "Mira, are you alright? Have they hurt you." "I'm okay dad, pretty uncomfortable but..." Cisco snatches the phone from her and begins. "Yo, Ramirez, you better listen up- we're gonna make this real short and sweet. The deal needs to be signed and notorized- you will not testify against Carlos Esteban under any circumstances and will invoke your fifth amendment rights if questioned. We also want someone with you, other than you, making the exchange." "What do you mean, someone else? What are you talkin ab...." "You think some piece of paper from some thug turned inmate turned snitch is gonna mean anything to us? We want someone from there, someone from the SBPD, verifying, delivering and sworn statements signed by them, as a witness, and the district attorney. Don't send no legal aide, rookie intern neither, someone legit. We'll call you with more instructions tomorrow.......early. Be ready." "But wait- why do you.." He hears the dial tone. Cruz asks what they wanted and Angel explains what was said. Cruz thinks that's an odd demand, but one they can use to their advantage. Angel says that the guy sounded real paranoid, like he didn't believe Angel had any of the resources, including the SBPD, backing him. Angel asks if the D.A. will agree to his signing such a waiver and Cruz says that he can sign the document but if everything goes the way he hopes, it will never take effect. Angel asks what that means. "I'll tell you what it means, Angel, it means I'm goin with ya. I'll be the one to make the exchange. Only we'll be a couple steps ahead of these punks. You with me?" Angel looks at him and actually starts to crack a smile. Carla becomes exasperated and throws her hands up in frustration. "Oh perfect, this is just PERFECT! Let me tell you two something- if you don't bring my baby home to me, may God help you, because only he will be able to protect you from my wrath....." (EXT: The Capwell Hotel) ---Angela brings Ted another drink and is beginning to feel a bit light on her feet. She asks him if he'd like to dance with her but he's elusive, saying he isn't in the mood and is wondering where his father is. He sees Lily and Gina out of the corner of his eye and begins walking toward them, completely ignoring Angela as she asks him where he's going. Rafe notices Ted walking toward Angela and heads to stop him, but Samantha cuts him off, telling him that he promised her a dance. He tells her that he'd like to in just a minute, but he needs to take care of something. Samantha stops him again, insisting when she hears a tango come on. She tells him that she's sure he knows how to tango and he admits he does. "Prove it." "Samantha, I honestly don't know if you're strong eno..." "Exercise, Rafe. Exercise." She reaches her hand out and they begin to dance. Meanwhile, Ted catches up with Lily and Gina excuses herself. Lily acts coldly toward Ted, saying that she only came out of support for her mother and little brother. Ted tells her they both know that's untrue- she knew he'd be there. She tries to insist it isn't that way but he cuts her off. "I've done a lot of thinking lately Lil. Since mom died and all.....I just want you to know that I'm sorry for how things turned out. I'm sorry I hurt you, hell humiliated you the way that I did. You didn't deserve that- you were nothing but good and faithful to me and I treated you like garbage. I don't know how you could ever forgive me.....I'm not sure I can forgive myself." Lily tears up a little, seeing the honesty in Ted's eyes. The music slows down and she notices Rafe and Samantha dancing close together. She remembers just what she's lost because of Ted's duplicity. She looks back again at Ted, who's extending his arm and offering her a dance. She accepts and he pulls her close, the two dancing cheek to cheek. Angela sits at the bar from across the room, looking on with Warren. Angela can't for a second understand why Ted would want anything to do with 'that woman.' Warren reminds her that the Capwell men are not the most faithful brood. Julia walks up to the bar for a drink and sees the two of them watching Ted & Lily. "They do look cozy, don't they? Makes your wonder if Ted hasn't used some of his money to buy a clue, doesn't it Angela?" "Go to hell Julia. I don't see Mason anywhere nearby- did you let him off his leash today?" "ACTually, Angela" Mason says, cutting her off. "I was just about to ask my wife if I could have this dance." "Sure. Excuse me Angela.....oh, bartender? Another glass of loneliness for the lady!" Julia snarks as Mason escorts her onto the dance floor. ----Eden sees the couples dancing from across the room and tells Kelly she wishes Cruz were there. Adriana agrees. Ashton walks up behind Kelly and begins leading her to the dance floor. "I guess we're going to dance now..." she says, laughing as he whisks her away. "I'll be back in a minute......" Adriana's face lights up when she sees Cruz entering the banquet room. She tells Eden to turn around and Eden immediately walks up to Cruz and hugs him, thanking him for being there. She asks how things went at Angel's and he tells her quickly about the call, but says he doesn't want to talk about the case right then. Their attention is immediately redirected when they see CC barreling through the dance floor with an incensed Pamela walking behind him. "Turn around." She says as he continues walking away. She walks toward him more furiously and begins to tug at his coat. "I SAID TURN AROUND AND LOOK AT ME DAMNIT!" she says, pulling down fiercely. CC is seething when he feels her tug and violently whips around, pushing Pamela's hands off of his jacket. She is stunned and the motion takes her off balance, causing her to fall backward and crash into the DJ and records and eventually land on the floor. This cuts the music off in the entire room. The entire party- Warren, Angela, Ted, Lily, Gina, Adriana, Samantha, Rafe, Kelly, Ashton, Eden, Cruz, Mason, and Julia stops what they're doing and stares at the scene. CC looks at Pamela on the floor, bitterly and angrily. Pamela stares back at him with much ferocity and hurt in her eyes. "You're going to regret doing that CC." she spits at him. He apologizes to her, claiming that he's very methodical. He explains that, being both a neurologist and a psychologist, he tends to use both studies in his treatments, this one being no exception. "I don't understand.....Why would you just yank the phone line out like that, knowing I'm only calling my family?...." she asks him. "You obviously don't understand. The psychology aspect of it- we're going to be starting hypnosis tonight, as part of the neurological treatments I'm doing to exterminate your aneurism. I need your mind to be at ease, completely open and relaxed. Speaking to members of your family could have a negative impact on that." "I didn't really think about that....I just wanted to let them know I was okay is all. And besides, I had already gotten CC's Voice Mail when you hung up the phone....." Edmund explains that he didn't know that but at the same time, he's still glad he was able to hang up the phone before she left the message. She again asks why and he tells her that he won't have CC calling there, every hour of the day to check up on Sophia. He again asks her if she really wants to recover and she says she does. "If that's true, then you will follow my instructions to the letter, from here on out. I'd like to begin hypnosis in a few minutes. Are you ready?" "Yes.....Yes of course I am. I've told you I'll do anything to get better and be with my family. Whenever you'd like to begin....I'll be ready." (EXT: The Capwell Hotel) ----CC takes Elizabeth in what he believes to be a private room. Unfortunately for him, Keith and Gina follow he & Elizabeth and are listening in an adjoined room. CC stares Elizabeth down, saying that the mere site of her makes him sick to his stomach. "CC, what on Earth has gotten...." "Save it. Gina admits that it's "getting good" and Keith motions for her to be quiet, as they hear Elizabeth begin to speak. "That's what you think? Oh you picked the right sister alright, CC- as far as I'm concerned, the two of you deserve each other. You think I'm sick? Sociopathic? A Liar? You take a real good look in the mirror my friend. And while you're at it, you could look through some photographs of your dead wife for another example." "Don't you ever, EVER talk about my wife that way...." "You won't tell me how I can and can not talk about my own sister or anything for that matter. You gave up those rights years ago." "And I'm glad I did. Listening to you right now makes me wonder what I ever saw in you in the first place...." "Funny, I'm wondering the same thing- what I ever could have seen in someone so blind. I can't believe I didn't see that before......I guess I did in a way. Otherwise, you may have figured out that I was carrying your child....." (EXT: Edmund's Castle) ---Edmund has Sophia lay on the couch and asks her to completely relax. Forget about her worries, the aneurism, the phone call, anything that may be on her mind. He tells her that he's going to count down from 10 and when he gets to 1, he will snap his fingers, sending her to a state of tranquility. He asks if she's ready and she says she's ready as she'll ever be..... "10....9....8....7.......6........5........4........3..........2.............1" He snaps his fingers and Sophia's face immediately stays in a fixed position. A smile comes over his face. "Your name was Lorretta Mathis, born in 1931 to Doris and Francis Mathis in Sacramento, California. You had one younger brother, Andrew, born two years later. You grew up........" (EXT: The Capwell Hotel, private room) Gina and Keith continue to listen in from the other room as CC replies to Elizabeth's revelation. "What did you say? What is this- more of your lies?" "I only wish it were. No, CC, this is the disgusting, hideous truth. Yes, yes, I was pregnant. With your child. At the ripe age of 17, can you imagine that? I didn't want anyone to know at the time....I wasn't even sure myself. Sophia had already found us together and knew of our affair. And she did what Sophia always did when I did something she didn't like- she went to our father about it. I'll never forget it......He came into my room late at night and shook me awake. He slapped me across my face and called me a slut for sleeping with my sister's fiance. I couldn't believe my ears. He told me that I wasn't going to be seeing you ever again and not only that, but he'd be watching my every move. He had such rage in his eyes- that look he always got in his eye when he was going to explode. I was so afraid of him. I knew that I was pregnant and I didn't want him to find out.....but I'd be showing in a matter of months. I had to get out of there- I wasn't about to let him do anything to hurt my baby. But the next day, he took me to the doctor's office, for a check-up. He said.......(she chokes up)........he said he wanted to have me checked out for diseases, since I'd been carrying on like.....like.........a prostitute. I knew, I knew he was going to find out and I begged the doctor to keep my confidence. But I was a minor and he told me he had an obligation to inform my father. So instead, I told him. And he hit the roof......." "Why wouldn't you have told me?" "I hadn't found the right time. You were still engaged to her and even though I knew you had feelings for me, I didn't want to use our child to manipulate you. But after my father found out, he wouldn't let me. I was scared to death of him. He didn't even want Sophia to find out but she heard us arguing one night and overheard everything. He told her not to worry- that he'd take care of everything. She said she didn't see how it was possible, since once you found out, you might leave her and her own child. Either way, it would be all in the newspapers and there would be such a scandal. He told her again, not to worry- that he knew someone and had a plan. I wasn't sure what he meant but I knew it wasn't good. I was going to leave the following night- you, Sophia, my father.....all of you, so I could be on my own with my child. But that never came to pass. My father and Sophia woke me late that night and drove me to my father's friend's house. I remember I was so cold, frightened. I didn't know where we were going and I didn't dare ask......and when we got there, and I saw the hospital bed, I knew, I knew what they were going to do to me...." "My God." "I begged them, Both of them. Sophia and my father, even the doctor. Please. PLEASE! Don't kill my baby......Please don't kill my baby. I held on to my stomach so tight and sobbed, begging them. Your precious Sophia ignored my pleas and instead, waited in the car while they did it. No hospital. No anesthesia. Just a fire to sterilize the knife and wire hanger, the bed and this man, mutilating my body and my child as I sobbed. I remember he had this bear, this teddy bear in the room and I just held it tight, and sobbed. The next day, I ended up being rushed to the hospital because of the infection. That's when I was told that my uterus was severely damaged during the procedure and I wouldn't be able to have children. Because of HER! All because of HER and My Father's obsession with her. That's what she did to me. So the next time you want to call me sick. Or vile. Or sociopathic, you just think about that, about having to deal with all of that at the age of 17, not having anyone to talk to about it. Not feeling safe. You just THINK about it...." Elizabeth flings the door open and runs out the back door, crying and holding her dress together. Before Gina can stop him, Keith goes running after. CC sits down at the desk, shocked by everything he's heard. Kelly walks in and asks him if everything's alright, and that everyone is wondering where he is. CC tells her he's fine and that he'll be back in a minute. Kelly asks where Elizabeth is and CC tells her she left. He asks Kelly if she'd leave him to be by himself for a minute, before he comes back. Kelly agrees and kisses him on the cheek, making sure he's definitely okay. She leaves and CC takes out his cell phone, looking at the missed call. He realizes that it was an international call from England and wonders who would be calling him from there..... (EXT: Edmund's Castle) ---- "When I count back from 10, you will go into a deep sleep, to prepare your mind for tomorrow's procedure.. Everything you've learned you will remember as your own memories, as things that happened in your own life, as Loretta Mathis. 10....9....8....7......6.....5......4.....3.....2........1...... " He snaps and she immediately goes to sleep. He smiles his sinister smile. He hears the phone ringing and goes to pick it up..... "Hello?" CC is stunned when he hears the voice on the other end, flashing to Edmund & Loretta. "HELLO?" "Lavery. What the hell are you calling me for?" "CC! So nice to hear from you too.......actually, I heard that you were throwing a party in honor of the marriage of my son to your daughter and I thought I'd call to check on how things are going...." "How did you.....nevermind. So help me God, Edmund, if your son does one thing to hurt my daughter, I'll....." "You'll what CC? Have him killed? Make him so miserable he no longer wants to live and takes his own life? I think you've done quite enough to my son, thank you very much. Besides, he's told me he's very much in love with your daughter and asked for my approval...." "And you GAVE it?" "Sure- he's old enough to make his own decisions and know what he wants for himself. Unlike you CC, I don't try to control the people that I love and everything around me. In any event, it's been so nice talking to you and please, let's not make it a habit shall we?" Edmund hangs up the phone on him and looks at Sophia and smiles. "Everything is going to be right now. Sophia actually ate up some of Elizabeth's airtime today- so I ended Lizzie's story with a cliffhanger instead. Monday is going to be HUGE for CC/Elizabeth though. Poor Sophia though. She probably rues the day I ever started writing this thing!

I really like the way you've introduced Sarah & AJ. Love the connection you established between Sarah & Patrick- I totally didn't see that coming, even though Liz mentioned he was a doctor. And, of course, I love the 'RTSB' references! I'm wondering which Capwell daughter Sarah isn't too fond of, though I expect it's Kelly. By the way, I always liked Sonny with Brenda as well. Brenda was always a bright spot on GH IMO and had chemistry with everyone, but especially Mo.

She remarks that she finds it ironic that, once upon a time, he didn't want her running a restaurant. He laughs, saying he hadn't thought about that in years. Eden notices that he looks particularly stressed and asks if everything's alright. "Sure. I just wish your mother was here, that's all..." "I know. We all do. She would have been so happy for Kelly. I'm actually anxious to meet this mysterious Ashton that she's married. You've met him- what do you think of him?" CC flashes back to meeting Ashton for the first time. He then flashes to his last argument with Loretta. He keeps flashing back and forth between Ashton's face and Loretta's. "Daddy? Dad?" Eden snaps her fingers at him. "Are you there? I asked you a question...." "Oh, yes, I'm sorry. He loves your sister, that much I can tell you. Other than that, I really don't know too much about him yet..." They're interrupted when Julia arrives, alone. CC asks her where Mason is and she says that his guess is as good as hers. She tells them that she asked Mason to move out for the time being, until he can sort out his feelings. Eden asks Julia if she doesn't think that's a little extreme. "Extreme? He didn't come home or call on Christmas. I think I've been more than understanding with him. I've put up with a lot more than most women would. I can't compete with her, Eden. I won't." CC apologizes for his son and says that she shouldn't have to compete with anybody, especially after 15 years of marriage. "18 if you count the first two times I married him.....With all due respect CC, I can't fault him for his behavior. What if you were in his situation? If when Sophia come back, if you were actually in love with your wife at the time, wouldn't you have gone right back to her?!...........I'm sorry, that was inappropriate... " CC tells her that it's quite alright and he understands where she's coming from. Ashton and Kelly show up and Kelly introduces him to Julia and Eden. Ashton tells them that he's heard so much about them both from Kelly, especially Eden. He says that he looks forward to getting to know her more intimately as he kisses Eden's hand. "You as well" he says to Julia, kissing her hand. "My, he's quite a charmer. This one could be a keeper Kell." Julia says. Kelly asks Eden where Cruz and Adriana are at. Eden tells her that Adriana is coming with Rafe, but Cruz can't make it- he's working on kidnapping case. Ashton remarks that he was looking forward to meeting Cruz as well and is sorry he won't be there. (EXT: LONDON, ENGLAND- Edmund's creepy castle-like mansion) ---The nurse walks into Edmund's study and tells him that the patient is awake and asking for him. Edmund asks if she informed her of the progress she's made and the nurse says she hadn't, that she was going to let him do that. "It's wonderful though, isn't it? Moments like this must make you proud to be a doctor. After next week, all traces of the aneurism will be gone, thanks to your treatment. It's such an honor to work with you...." "Yes it is. Thanks for everything you've done- you can go home now. And I won't be needing you after next week....." She leaves and Edmund heads toward Sophia's room. He sees her, sitting up, looking stronger than ever. He says that she's coming along nicely, but the treatment is worker much slower than anticipated. He says that due to all the trauma, certain areas of her brain aren't functioning as they normally would, which ultimately, is slowing down the process. Sophia is disappointed, saying that she's anxious to get home to her family. Though she can't remember telling them, if they think she's on a business trip, they must wonder why she's been gone for so long. Edmund fills in the holes in the story, telling her that she explained to them that it's a retreat she's on and that it could run anywhere from 2-8 weeks, depending on the turnout- so they wouldn't be expecting her home yet. "Yes, but they haven't even heard from me in weeks, so they may be worried. And I actually feel up to talking to them today....isn't there a way I could call them?" "I don't think it's a good idea. We want you to make a full recovery and I don't need you expending any strength by getting upset in any way. I know you miss them but you'll be with them soon enough...." "But you just said it's going slower than expected........isn't there a way that we could speed the process along?" "Funny that you mention it, because there is." He tells her that patients in the past have undergone hypnosis with him to trigger the area of the brain he needs at high function for the treatments to be effective. He tells her that, if it's okay with her, he'd like to begin tonight, especially since she's feeling stronger. Sophia says that she'd do just about anything to get back to her family quicker and agrees to it. Edmund gives her the waiver she needs to sign before they can begin. She asks if he wants to do it right away....saying she'd like a little time to think, especially since it's the best she's felt in some time. Edmund agrees but says that they should start quickly, since it's going to be a bit timely. (EXT: The Capwell Hotel) ---The party is in full swing, with many guests in attendance. The focus starts with Ted and Angela, who are just being introduced to Ashton. Angela asks Ted if he'd like a drink and he says he would, though he seems kind of distant. She goes to the bar and orders him one, bumping into Warren. Angela asks him what he's doing there, saying he's not exactly the Capwells' biggest fan. He says that he's always had a soft spot for Kelly. He asks how things are going with 'Prince Harry.' "If you're referring to Ted.....he's been kind of tense lately. He did just lose his mother...." "I guess that would make anyone a little tense. How about you? How are you doing?" Angela claims she's fine but Warren can tell she's not. She says that Ted has been kind of distant lately and she's beginning to wonder it's something more than Sophia's death. She asks him for his complete confidence and he agrees, so she tells him about the conversation she overheard between Ted and Kelly earlier in the week. Warren tells her she shouldn't worry, that he loves her- anyone can see that. "But he was right Warren- I don't know how to comfort him sometimes. And I'm not Sophia and I never will be. If that's the kind of woman he wants......It's not who I am and it probably never will be." ---The focus shifts to Mason arriving and Kelly introducing him to Ashton. CC asks him where Mary is, saying he fully expected she'd be coming. Mason says she was grateful for the invitation but she didn't think she should be there. Mason says that he tried to convince her otherwise but she wouldn't have it. CC says it was probably best, since Julia is there and remarks that Mason should be putting his energies into his marriage and family. Though it's wonderful Mary is alive, he's committed to Julia. Kelly sees that Mason is about to go on a rampage and asks him if he came alone. Mason guiltily looks at her and says he did not. Pamela walks in behind him, taking her son's arm. "Hello everyone. Kelly, congratulations." "Why would you bring her here?" CC says, looking at Mason "You know her history with your sister- it's completely out of...." "It's alright daddy" Kelly interrupts "She's Mason's mother. He should spend all the time with her that he can. Pamela, this is my husband, Ashton Lavery...." "Lavery......Lavery......Oh goodness, Edmund Lavery's son?" "Yes. You know my father?" "He's quite a prestigious man back in London- a very talented neurologist and psychologist. I've read a few articles about him. He actually lived in Santa Barbara for a while- fell in love with some American girl while in med school and married her....." "That was my mother. I actually was born here." "I'm so sorry," Pamela responds, "I should have realized- I read that she died when you were born. How tragic...." Ashton remarks that it was and thanks her for the sympathy as CC looks intensely at him. Gina, Lily, and little Channing arrive and offer Kelly their good wishes. Ashton asks his wife who this lovely woman could be and Kelly sarcastically remarks it's Gina, her father's three time ex-wife. Ashton says he's pleased to meet her and her lovely daughter (and son). Gina is quite charmed by him. Lily looks around to see if Rafe has arrived. Julia descends on the group and mentions to Mason that Samantha called and she's on her way with Rafe and Adriana. Julia tells him that she finally got the casts off today and that she sounds very relieved. Mason says that he can't wait to see her and Julia asks if Mary is coming. Mason tells her she's not and that he was hoping they could spend some time together. She says maybe later and excuses herself to talk to Warren at the bar. Everyone begins dispersing and mingling with the party guests. Gina bumps into Joann and asks what she's even doing there in the first place. Joann says she could very well ask Gina the same question. She tells her that CC wanted her to meet Kelly and her new husband and she wasn't about to disappoint her boss. Gina reminds her that he'd be awfully disappointed if he knew she was involved with Kirk and the takeover. "And I'm sure he'd be more furious with you, especially since I'm the one that saved the company from Kirk. We've been through this already, Gina, it's getting quite tiresome." She spots Keith arriving with Elizabeth. "Isn't that Keith over there? And wow, Elizabeth looks stunning, moreso than I've ever seen her look. Perhaps you should worry about holding on to your twisted boyfriend instead of taunting me...." She walks away as Gina immediately goes up to Keith when she sees him going to the bar. Gina asks him what he's doing there, since he wouldn't come with her. He says that he didn't come with her because he was coming with Elizabeth. He tells her not to worry about what he's up to, she'll know soon enough. In the meantime, he asks her to play along and behave while he's with Elizabeth. He tells her that it's very important that CC see him with Elizabeth. Kelly notices Elizabeth waiting for Keith and asks CC what she's doing there. CC says that he invited her, though he's regretful of it after what happened with Keith earlier. Kelly asks what he's talking about and he tells her it's unimportant. He says that, even though there was much tension between them, Sophia loved her sister deep down and would want her family to know her now. Kelly says she isn't so sure of that, especially in light of everything Elizabeth did before she died. CC does wonder if she is indeed right, as he stares at Elizabeth. Elizabeth notices him looking and stares back. Just as he's about to approach her, he spots Keith bringing their drinks. An angry look takes over his face and he begins to walk....but gets a phone call and excuses himself to another room. (EXT: Edmund's creepy house) ---Alone, Sophia tries to remember talking to her family, but is frustrated when she is unable to. She opens the door from her room and, seeing the coast is clear, walks the halls, looking in each room. She finally comes across a room with a phone in it and walks up to it. She dials CC's cell phone number, checking behind her to make sure nobody is coming. The phone begins ringing..... FLASH TO (The Party) CC asks the person on the phone if they have the test results. They tell them that they do and as they're about to give them to him, he hears his call waiting. He checks the phone number and doesn't recognize it, so he continues with his conversation, again asking for the results. FLASH TO Sophia sitting on the phone, impatiently waiting for him to answer. "C'mon CC, pick up.........Voice Mail.......damnit..........I should say something, let him know things are okay......" The phone goes dead and Sophia begins saying "Hello" repeatedly into the phone. She looks up and sees Edmund standing with the cord in his hand, staring at her. FLASH TO CC asks the person if they're positive it's not a match. They say they re-ran the test 3 times and it proved conclusively each time that CC and Ashton could not have come from the same gene pool. CC thanks them for their help and hangs up. CC walks back into the party and sees Elizabeth dancing with Keith. He walks directly up to her, breaking them up and taking her by the arm. "You and I need to have a little talk...." "Ow, CC, you're hurting me....." CC ignores her and leads her to another room. Keith looks at Gina across the room, watching the action. He raises his glass to her. He asks her if Elizabeth is in her office yet and she nods that she is, though she asked not to be disturbed. CC reminds her that even though they've merged, he's still the CEO of Capwell Enterprises and can see whoever he damn well pleases. "Of course, of course you can, shall I let her know you're coming." "Let her know, don't let her know, what do I give a damn, just don't let anyone disturb us once I'm in there!" "Yes Mr. Capwell." CC bursts into Elizabeth's office and is surprised by who she's with. "Timmons, what the hell are you doing here? What business could you possibly have...?!?..." "Relax CC, don't go giving yourself another stroke there.... I just stopped by to visit with a friend, nothing more." "A friend?" "Yes, a friend, CC," Elizabeth interrupts "that alright with you?" "Fine, fine, but I need to speak with you alone..." "What about?" During their banter, Keith subtly turns the two-way speaker on. He tells Elizabeth he'll be seeing her later, he hopes, and he'll give them the privacy they need. CC sarcastically thanks him for giving him privacy in HIS BUILDING! Keith smiles and says he's more than happy to. He leaves the office, heading into the hallway. He tells Kathleen that there's a delivery coming in on the 3rd floor and CC can't sign for it, since he's tied up. He offers to keep an eye on the phones for her while she goes to do it. Kathleen tells him she's not falling for it, no way is she leaving her desk without hearing from CC. Keith calls her bluff, telling her to go ahead and interrupt him then, after he sent Keith out there to avoid that in the first place. Kathleen squints at Keith and he squints back at her. Exasperated, she heads for the elevator, and, once she's out of sight, he turns on the speaker phone. He listens in as CC tells Elizabeth of the party that he's throwing for Kelly that night and tells her it would mean a lot to him if she'd come. At first, she's hesitant, saying that she doesn't know if it's right, especially after everything that's happened with Sophia and what his children obviously think of her. CC insists that they don't know her like he does and he'd like for them to get to know her, especially in light of her sister's death. Keith continues listening, not noticing someone approaching him. "WHAT ARE YOU DOING?" Gina says "SHHHHH, I"m trying to hear...." "Oh, don't tell me you're spying on Elizabeth again- Keith, I honestly don't see why you're so...." "Will you Shut UP? I can't hear them...." They listen in as Elizabeth tells CC that she'll think about it. He says she can bring someone if she like but he wants her to be there. Keith complains to Gina that they missed everything as CC exits Elizabeth's office. "Timmons, what the hell are you still doing in the building? And Gina, shouldn't you be working? I looked at the numbers for Gina Jeans last night and well...." "CC believe me I know, I'm working hard on taking care of it, believe me. With the campaign I have laid out, our numbers should skyrocket in Spring.." "You'd better hope so..." (EXT: Santa Barbara Police Station) ----Vic tells Cruz that the FBI is being brought in to investigate Marta's kidnapping. Cruz admits that he can't believe they've heard nothing from the kidnappers yet and is beginning to fear the worst. Vic asks Cruz if that means he's starting to believe that Adriana was indeed the intended victim. Before Cruz can answer, Vic gets a call from someone, saying that two incoming calls have come into the Ramirez house. Vic asks if they were able to get a trace and as he tries to listen to the answer, there's a commotion outside. "Castillo? CASTILLO? I don't care who he's with....this is my DAUGHTER I'm talkin about.....CASTILLO?!??" Cruz looks at Vic and opens the door, telling everyone it's alright and for Angel to come inside. Cruz asks him what's going on and Angel says that he's heard from the kidnappers. Cruz asks if they were on the line very long, and Angel says they weren't, but it doesn't matter since they're using a scrambler. "He's right- that's what the tech guys were just telling me on the phone..." "These guys are pros, Castillo, I'm not kiddin." "Any idea who they could be?" Cruz asks. Angel tells him that it's definitely related to Carlos. Cruz wonders how he's certain and Angel tells him they threatened to kill Marta if he testifies. Cruz inquires about Marta, asking if they let him speak to her, which Angel says they did. Angel tells him they don't want the FBI involved. If they get wind of any involvement from them, Marta's dead. Angel says that he can't possibly have the resources for everything they need. He says that the kidnappers then told him that they already know that the SBPD is involved with the case, especially since Angel had done undercover work for them. "What do they want Angel?" "Isn't they obvious? They want the charges against Carlos dropped, they don't want me testifying, etc..... It's all to protect him..." "They have to know we're not gonna go for that...." "What do you MEAN we're not gonna go for that?" Angel exclaims "This is my daughter we're talkin about- we're gonna do everything we can for my baby girl and her safety, D.A.'s office be damned..." "We're gonna get her back man, we are, but you gotta trust me..." "Look Castillo, you got me into this mess. It's because of you and Boswell there that my daughter is in danger in the first place. Now if you're not gonna help...." "I didn't say that.....look, we'll get em, I promise. I'm comin over right now and I'm stayin with you and Carla until they call again. We'll get em Angel, you got my word...." (EXT: SANTA BARBARA HOSPITAL) ---Adriana and Rafe sit in the waiting room while Samantha gets her casts removed. Adriana gets up and starts pacing, asking how long it could possibly take for them to remove some casts. Rafe walks up and puts his arm on his niece, trying to get her to calm down. "CALM DOWN? How can I? I was almost kidnapped and because of me, Marta could be dead right now..." "You can't think like that- none of this is your fault. Like your dad said, they don't even know for sure that you were the target, so just take it easy..." "I don't care what they say. I'm telling you, they were after ME!" Rafe asks how she can be sure and she tells him it was the way the guy was acting. She doesn't look a thing like Marta and he was well aware of what he was doing when he grabbed her. Though she says she only remembers bits and pieces, the guy was almost trying to make her comfortable the whole time, saying she wouldn't be hurt if he just did as he asked. She reminds him that the only time that what he was doing was unclear is when Marta sprayed him with the mace. Rafe reiterates that if he wanted Adriana, he wouldn't have let her go and taken Marta instead. "You're as bad as they are. Well NONE of you were there. I was..." Rafe asks her if she can remember anything specific, anything that would absolutely confirm the kidnappers were after her. Adriana thinks hard, but says everything she's told him is what she remembers. She gets angry with herself that she can't trigger her own memory and grunts in frustration as Samantha walks out. Rafe walks up to her, asking how she is. "My balance is going to be off for a little bit & you and I are still gonna have to do some physical therapy. I have to walk around with this stick for a while" she says, lifting her cain, "but Dr. Normandy said with the right amount of exercise and rest, should be good as new in no time.... Isn't that great A? I'll be able to actually get around like a normal person at the reception tonight.....A..." "Yeah....great....excuse me you guys, I'll be right back." She exits to the ladies room and Samantha asks what's with her. Rafe says that there's still no word on Marta and she's pretty upset about it. "Poor kid. I swear to God, something nuts is always happening to my aunt & uncle, I don't know how Adriana keeps up......I'm sorry, I forgot he's your brother..." "Nah, it's alright. It's true...." Samantha asks him if he's going to dance with her tonight at the party. Rafe says that he thought she was supposed to be taking it easy and slow. "And EXERCISE, Rafe, exercise. Don't be such a stick in the mud- I know you latino guys know how to move....." Rafe smiles at her and suggests he might, if she can behave herself. "I'm not promising...." Samantha smiles. (EXT: Capwell Enterprises- CC's office) ---CC sits at his desk, talking urgently to someone on the phone. He asks if they have the DNA results ready yet and the person tells him they won't be ready until later in the day, possibly tomorrow. "You listen to me, I've donated a lot of money for research at that lab over the years. This is an urgent matter and I expect the results no later than the end of the day today.........Listen, I don't care HOW backed up you are..........Then you tell him that he has to work late, I don't care what you do, I WANT THOSE RESULTS TONIGHT!!!!" He slams the phone down and grabs his head in frustration. "I feel sorry for whoever was on the receiving end of that" Keith says, from the doorway, "then again, CC Capwell is a man who gets what he wants...." "How the HELL did you get in here?" "That cute little secretary of yours had to powder her nose......" "I thought you left earlier...." Keith says that he had, but he actually wanted to come back and thank CC, especially after what he learned in his conversation with Elizabeth. "Thank Me? Timmons, I wouldn't do you a favor if my life depended on it.......So whatever it is you're talking about, you're way off-base...." "I don't think so, CC. Not about this. And I'm not thanking you for me..........I'm thanking you for little Channing of course...." "Channing......what's Channing got to do with......" CC stops himself as he realizes that Keith must be talking about the amendment to the will. "What? Go on, finish CC......You where saying what's Channing got to..." "You're bluffing Timmons, Elizabeth trusts you about as far as she can throw you....." "That may be true, but she did trust me enough.....as a lawyer, of course.....to give me a copy of this......" he hands CC the paperwork. "Those are the contracts the two of you had drawn up, no ? The ones where Elizabeth stipulated that none of Sophia's children could inherit Capwell? The one you SIGNED and AGREED TO? Oh and here...." he hands CC another document "This is the amendment to the will.......go on, page 2, paragraph 5, you know where I'm going, keep up with me......Ahem......To my son, Channing Creighton Capwell IV...... I bequeath all shares in my company, Capwell Enterprises.......all of its subisidaries......I'm paraphrasing of course, but you get the idea no? I thought it was strange that Sophia was barred from the company, but now, I can't help but ask myself, why, WHY would CC Capwell agree to such a demand... and WHY would Ms. Elizabeth Wayne insist on it?" "Get out." "Care to comment, CC" "Get out, Get OUT, GET OUT!!!! GET THE HELL OUT OF MY OFFICE!!!! NOW!!! GO!!!!" Keith smiles his smug smirk and waves CC good-bye. She wakes up to realize it's a pillow that she's hugging and now her husband. Ted walks in from the bathroom, buttoning the last button on his shirt. He begins putting on his tie, but Angela has something else in mind. She starts kissing his neck and unbuttoning his shirt. "What are you doing?" he asks "Saying a proper good morning to my husband...." "Oh, Good Morning" He gives her a less than passionate peck on the lips and walks toward the mirror, re-buttoning his shirt and leaving her sitting on the bed looking like Maggie the Cat. "Something wrong?" she asks him. "Nah, not at all. I just don't want to be late for work, that's all. I have an early meeting...." Angela takes that cue to get out of bed and walk up behind him, starting to kiss him on the neck again. She reminds him that he owns the company and can afford to be a few minutes late to a meeting. Ted nudges her off of him. "I told you I don't want to be late- I'm not in the mood. I'll see you at the office." He grabs his keys and hurries out the door, leaving a disappointed Angela alone on the bed. (EXT: The Capwell Mansion) ---Rosa opens the door to Kelly's room and nervously walks inside. She remembers CC asking her to get a hair from the brush and his refusal to tell her what it's all about. She begins to make the bed and straighten out the room, trying to keep her mind off of it. She tidies up and makes her way into the guest bathroom. She begins cleaning in there and notices the hair brush laying out. She walks toward it and grabs it, holding it in front of her face. She's startled when the door flies open. "What are you doing?" Ashton asks her. "Cleaning up- that's what I do around here, as I'm sure your wife has told you." "I figured that- what are you doing holding my brush like that?" "Oh...I'm sorry, terribly sorry. I must look like a fool. I was cleaning up in here and when I found the brush, for a minute I thought it was Ted's- he used to have one just like it. I was just trying to figure out where it came from when you walked in and it dawned on me- It must be yours! Honestly, when you've worked in this house as many years as I have, it's impossible to keep track of who's living here at any given time....." Ashton tells her that it's quite alright, she just looked frozen is all and had an odd look on her face. Rosa apologizes again and sets the brush back down in its place. Ashton asks her if he could have some privacy, he needs to freshen up. She says no problem but continues to clean. Ashton smiles at her and walks toward the bathroom, telling her he isn't shy and begins to unzip. Rosa realizes what he meant and embarassed, hurries out of there. When she's out of site, his face changes into one of extreme seriousness. He locks the door and goes for the brush. He studies it, asking himself aloud what on Earth the Capwell maid would want with his brush. He continues to stare and focuses on the hairs sticking out. He pulls one off with his hand and looks at it. "Of course.......I should have known the old man would move quick....." (EXT: Capwell Enterprises) ----Keith knocks on Gina's office door. She opens it hurriedly and throws him inside, looking both ways down the hallway to be sure nobody is around. She quietly shuts the door and locks it. He asks her what's with all the James Bond theatrics, telling her he hopes she found out something on her little mission the night before. "Oh I found out something alright, something that'll knock your socks off!" she tells him. "I'm listening....." "That 'stipulation' that Joann told you about.......well, it just so happens that I found out what it is....." "Oh? Well.....come out with it- WHAT DID YOU FIND??!?!" "SHHHHHHHHH!!!! Last night while you were entertaining our favorite Wayne sister, I dug up the contract she and CC entered into during the merger. Apparently, the last-minute stipulation Ms. Elizabeth had was that CC amend his will so that none of Sophia's children would inherit Capwell Enterprises in the event of his death....." "GOD, I love how she operates...." "But that's not the best part- the child he chose to will it to isn't Mason." "Who? Who is it then- Greg Capwell? That dud of a kid he had with Megan Whatsherface..." "Not Greg you fool! Channing! He willed the company to our little Channing!" Keith is taken completely off guard by the news as Gina celebrates, saying that someday, someday, the company will be her son's. Keith warns her not to break out the champagne yet, that the news isn't as good as it may seem. Gina asks how could it possibly not be good news? "Well, let's face it my pet, in order for little Chan Chan to inherit Capwell, CC has to die first. As in pass away. Permanently. Now how many times since we've known him has the old coot been on death's door only to make some miraculous comeback? I promise you, sweetheart, 25 years from now, you'll be seeing CC's Capwell's picture on the TODAY Show, with Willard Scott announcing his 100th birthday!" "From what I hear, 25 years from now, all we'll be watching is the Today Show!" Keith tells her that while this is promising news, it's not for the reasons she may think. What it does prove is that Elizabeth's hatred for her sister obviously goes deeper than they even imagined. She insists that Elizabeth is insignificant at this point- she's served her purpose and now the company will be Channing IV's someday. Keith tells her that with what he has in mind, someday could come a lot quicker than CC's death. "Uh oh" Gina says "You've got that look in your eye...." "What look?" "The look a bobcat gets when it eyes its prey...." Keith continues to stare off with that exact look in his eye. (EXT: Ted's office) ---Ted arrives at work and sees that Kelly is waiting outside of his door. He invites her in and asks what she's doing at the office. She tells him that she's coming back to work and was actually on her way to set up her office. Ted tells her that Joann was actually given her office in her absence. He tells her that nobody was sure when or if she was coming back to work. Kelly scoffs at him, saying that of course she would come back at some point. "Well when? We couldn't leave it empty forever.......hell, you didn't even come in for my wedding, so why would we think you'd be coming back at all?" "It's the family's company Ted- Of course I'd always want to be a part of it. What's wrong with you? Why are you being so snippy with me?" Ted apologizes, saying she just caught him on a bad day. She asks if it has anything to do with Sophia and he admits that's all that's been on his mind lately. He says that he just cannot accept the fact that she's gone. Kelly tells him that she's been having trouble with it herself. He tells her that if he had any time to prepare then maybe it would be easier- it just doesn't make sense to him that Sophia was so close to death yet she didn't let on to her family. Over and over, he tries to think of things she was doing, acting out of character, and he thinks of all those times she was feeling under the weather lately or had headaches. It tortures him that all of this happened right in front of him yet he didn't pick up on anything being wrong. "It's not your fault Ted. None of us knew that she was sick- you couldn't have..." "But I could....no, I SHOULD have. All those conversations we had, she had to have alluded to it more than once. I'm her son, damnit. I should have known, I could have done something, helped her, been there for her...." "We all feel that way but there's nothing we can do now......." "Damn that woman! Damn her for what she did to my mother! How could dad do that, give in to her demands so easily? WHY would she do this to her own sister? And then she shows up at the funeral, crying her crocodile tears, and leaves in the middle of the eulogy...." "I know. I don't understand it either. I tried talking to her....but it's no use. She was actually very cold. You should have seen the way her face changed when I told her I was her niece.....It was as though she was suddenly repulsed by me and couldn't wait to get away from me...." Ted changes the subject, saying he heard that she's married. She shows him the ring and jokes that they're even, since neither of them attended the other's wedding. Angela walks up but sees that he's talking to Kelly. Instead of entering, she stands next to the door and listens from outside. Ted says he's anxious to meet his new brother-in-law and Kelly tells him that CC is planning to throw them a wedding reception the following night. Kelly says she told him not to do it since the family might not be up for it but he insisted, telling her it's exactly what they need. Ted admits that it may be exactly what the doctor ordered. Kelly asks him how things are going in his marriage and he admits things are a bit tense. "I know she means well but I don't think she knows how to comfort me right now. I don't think she really understands what I'm going through and it's hard on both of us. You know in some ways I wish she were more like mom.....mom was so sensitive and almost knew instantly when something was wrong with anyone and almost instinctively knew how to make it better...." "Angela Cassidy is nothing like our mother that's for sure. But she loves you Ted- I can see it...." "Oh, I know that...it's just, sometimes, I'm not sure she knows how I need to be loved. Angela's face tenses up as she hears her husband's words. She starts to tear up, covers her mouth and walks away so as not to be heard. (EXT: The Capwell Mansion) ---Rosa continues tidying up the living room as Ashton scurries down the Capwell staircase, into the foyer. He peeks into the room at Rosa, who's dusting the furniture. "Okay Rosa, just wanted to let you know I'm going. Thanks so much for your hospitality and cleaning up the room- it's spotless" "Oh, you're very welcome. Good luck with your meeting." "Thanks" he says as he exits through the front door. Alone, Rosa quickly walks up the stairs of the house and heads back toward Kelly's room. She goes in and walks directly to the guest bathroom. She enters through and opens the medicine cabinet, looking again for the brush. When it's not there, she starts looking frantically through the drawers and the doors underneath. She looks by the other sink but still, no brush. Frustrated, she wonders if maybe he moved it into the bedroom. She walks through the doors and is stunned when she sees Ashton standing in front of her, holding the brush in his hand. He takes his other hand and pulls a hair from the brush. "Mr. Lavery, I...." "Is this what you're looking for?" he says, ignoring her and holding up the hair. "Here." He places the hair in her hand. "Go on, take it, it's is what you wanted isn't it?" "I'm not sure what you mean..." "It's okay Rosa, I know what's going here and I expected something of this sort from a man like CC. Figures that he wouldn't do his own dirty work. But go ahead, take it to him, let him have it analyzed. After all, we can't be too careful in this day & age, no? I'm sure CC wants me checked out, my health history, background, etc..... He could have asked himself but.....it doesn't surprise me in the least that he didn't. It's not the easiest thing to bring up in conversation, no?" Rosa takes the hair and thanks him for being so understanding. She turns around and leaves the room, with the hair in her hand. In the hallway, she places it in a ziploc bag and hurries off. IN: OUT: In what comes as no surprise to anyone who read Episode 40 of 'RTSB', 'RTSB' creator juniorz just gave official word of Tuc Watkins departure from 'RTSB' and Justin Deas reprisal of the role he created. This morning, SONBC received the following statement from junior: "It is with great sadness that I announce the departure of Tuc Watkins from 'Return to Santa Barbara.' I'm very fond of Tuc and his acting skills and thought he made for a fantastic Keith Timmons. Unfortunately for him, really and truly, there is only one Keith Timmons and we were able to coax Justin Deas into leaving Guiding Light and returning to his signature role. Tuc & I spoke at great lengths about his dismissal and he seems all but ready to take Hollywood by storm. However, a return engagement is not out of the question and in fact, is a pretty good possibility. I still want Tuc to be a part of 'RTSB.' While it may not happen right away, I would love to cast him in another role somewhere down the line. We wish him the best of luck in the meantime and couldn't be more thrilled to have Justin back in his role." The SONBC ratings for the week of January 8 were late this week- but 'RTSB' managed to hold on to the #1 spot and actually increased in ratings from a 4.5 to a 4.6!!! Thanks again you guys for sticking with it and I hope you continue to get some enjoyment out of it on a regular basis! In other news, I'm pleased to announce that I have set up a host site for a new talk show on BlogTalkRadio called "Talkin Santa Barbara." Wendy gave me the idea and while I don't think it will be a regular thing, I could see it working out 2 or 3 times a month. I'm actually looking for preferrably 2 co-hosts (but even 1 would do right now) to take on the project with me. I'm in the process of scheduling a test episode, which I wanted to get all of your input on. I want to have it at a time where most of us would be available to listen & call in. I'm planning on running the show from 1-1 1/2 hours approximately every other week so it wouldn't require too much of anyone's time to co-host. She tells him how much she's missed him and that it's killed her to be apart from him for so long. He smiles and says she won't have to be apart from him any longer. He leans in and kisses her passionately. She kisses him back and pulls open his shirt. "Isn't it a little early?" he says, teasing her. "I think you just have a bad case of jetlag, my friend. Besides, you have A LOT of catching up to do!" "Oh I do huh?" He smiles and leans in and kisses her, pulling her on top of him. He removes her satin night gown and kisses her on her neck, devouring her like a hungry animal. She laughs in anticipation as they roll around in her bed. (EXT: Cruz & Eden's Beach House) ---Cruz and Eden walk downstairs to Rafe comforting Adriana. Eden walks directly up to her daughter and hugs her. "Thank God you're alright sweetheart. I don't know what I would have done....." Eden says "But what about Marta? All she did was try and help me and she ended up being taken away....If I was the one they wanted and they got her....what's to stop them from....from..." "Don't think like that, darlin." Cruz says "We have reason to believe that Marta may have actually been the target here...." Adriana insists that's not right, that clearly she was the one being abducted. Cruz explains that it's not so cut & dry- ever since Carlos Esteban was arrested, there have been threats on Angel and his family, possibly she and Eden as well. Eden laments that she knew it was too good to be true when he said he wouldn't be doing the undercover work on this assignment. Even without doing it, their family has still been thrown in the middle of danger. Adriana asks if they've told Angel & Carla yet and Cruz explains that a couple of guys were over there the night before to give them the news. Adriana is infuriated that Cruz didn't go and talk to them himself. Cruz says that he wasn't about to leave his daughter alone in the house after what had happened. "So you do think I was the target....." "I didn't say that...." "Yes you did. If Marta was definitely their target, why would you need to stay here and protect me? So that means I still could be in danger...." "Baby, I pray to God that isn't the case. But for now, I do want you to be careful. You're Uncle Rafe is going to stick close with ya for the time being. I gotta go..." "Where are you going?" Eden asks. "To the station, but I gotta make a stop on the way. I think I owe it to Angel, no?" Adriana smiles at him and give her father a kiss on the cheek. (EXT: A small house in Mexico, panning in to Marta tied up in a chair) ---Bobby (Marta's kidnapper) and Cisco (his accomplice) discuss the fact that they've got the wrong girl. Cisco tells Bobby that he can't believe he even bothered keeping the girl, especially after he realized it wasn't who they were after. Cisco looks at Marta, who's gagged and tied to a chair. He then pulls out the picture of Adriana. "She don't even look like the right girl- how could you screw up so bad?" Cisco asks him. "I told ya already, I had the blonde, then this little minx came up and sprayed mace all in my eyes. I didn't know who the hell I was grabbin.....By the time I saw it was her, we were halfway to Mexico, no turnin back." They're startled when Marta starts to wake up. She opens her eyes and looks the men over. She moves her head from side to side, trying to loosen her gag. She then motions with her eyes for them to remove it and Bobby does so. She then goes to bite at his hand, which he swiftly moves away. "Try that again, that gag is goin right back over yer mout" "Oh, I'm so sorry. I wouldn't want to hurt you. You've only TIED me to a chair and gagged me for the past 12 hours. What do you expect me to do?" "I'm gettin sick of your wise lip" "And I'm sick of looking at your fat, incompetent self. Seriously, I don't know how an idiot like you was able to even get me in that car in the first place. How could you not see you had the wrong girl? And what's the point of keeping me know? You've already tipped them off and Adriana will have round the clock protection now, if I know that cop father of hers..." "She's got a..." Cisco stops himself and looks at Bobby. "How u know her dad's a cop?" "What, are you KIDDING me? You really are a couple of amateurs, aren't you? He's only the cop that put my dad in prison for the past 20 years of my life...." "I take it you're not a fan of his work either?" "You could say that again. But for whatever reason, my dad seems to have forgiven him. And I GUARANTEE that Adriana has given your description (she motions to Bobby) to her dad and he and my dad and the ENTIRE SBPD are looking for me as we speak....So what's your exit strategy boys? You know what strategy means right? Of course you do, strategy you get. It's execution that's your weak point!" "Can it b!tch!" Cisco gets right up in her face. "That sharp tongue of yours is only gonna get you into more trouble. And here I was gonna convince Bobby here to let you go......but you.....YOU opened that big trap of yours and now......well, let's just say you've opened the floodgates for an exit strategy....." (EXT: The Capwell Mansion) ---Rosa spots CC sitting at the dining room table, eating his breakfast alone. She quietly offers to join him and he humbly pulls out a chair for her. "I know you miss her," she says quietly. "I try not to think about it. I try to focus on work and on my children........but times like this, sitting down, having breakfast, or any meal for that matter......Going to sleep in an empty bed.....Nobody to talk sit in my bedroom with the light on, just talking about the little meaningless events of the day...." "I know just how you feel CC. I could tell you that it gets better, but I'm afraid that wouldn't be the truth. I miss Reuben each and every day. But you learn to go on.....because that's how they would want it. Your family needs you to do that and you'll be able to.....with time" She takes his hand in both of hers and looks him directly in the eyes. He looks back at her, seeing her pain is just as evident, even after all the years gone by. The silence is interrupted by the sounds of Kelly giggling with Ashton as they walk down the stairs. They continue flirting and walking close, laughing until they see CC & Rosa at the table looking at them. "Oh, good morning daddy, I didn't think you'd still be here...." She walks up to her father and gives him a kiss on his cheek. Ashton walks up and wishes CC good morning, offering him a handshake. Rosa says that she'll go and fix them a plate, but Kelly tells her not to bother. Ashton has some contacts he's supposed to meet with shortly and she's going into the office today. "You're coming back to work?" "Well, yeah, if that's alright. Don't you think it's about time I do?" "Of course, of course. I'm thrilled you're coming back. So that means you're staying....." Kelly smiles and tells her father that she and Ashton are actually going to look at houses later in the day. CC smiles and tells her he's thrilled to have her back, that things weren't the same without her. Kelly asks if that means he's forgiven her for getting married without him being there and he insists he has. Ashton apologizes to CC for not getting his permission first, but things happened so fast...... CC claims that it's quite alright, so long as he makes his little girl happy. Ashton promises he'll do so. CC asks if, since he wasn't able to give her a wedding, Kelly would be opposed to him throwing a reception in their honor. "I think that would be just fine, but are you up for all that?" "Are you kidding? Some good news and celebration is just what this family needs right now. I know your mother would approve...." "If you're sure that you're up for it........" He nods at her. "Okay, well it sounds great. Just tells us when & where and we'll be there. In the meantime, we'd better be going." She and Ashton say their good-byes and exit through the front door. Now alone, CC asks a favor of Rosa. "Sure CC, anything." "Alright Rosa, but please, you can't ask any questions. I need you to go up to the guest bathroom and get one of Ashton's hairs from his comb or hairbrush or whatever the hell he uses on that mane. Put it in a plastic bag and set it aside for me...." "His hair? Why would you nee.." "Ah. I said no questions Rosa. Please. Will you do this? For me?" Rosa looks at him curiously and agrees to retrieve the hair. (EXT: The Ramirez House) ----Cruz pulls up into the all too familiar driveway, dreading the scene he knows is about to occur. He approaches the front door and knocks. A distraught and sleep-deprived Angel answers the door. "Castillo. Took you long enough" "Yeah, I'm sorry about that man, but I didn't want to leave my little girl alone, after what happened...." "I understand. I swear, if there is anything I could have done to protect my Marta...." "I know, man, I know." Angel asks if there's been any word on Marta. Cruz says they haven't heard much. The witness from the parking lot claimed the man was heavy-set, dressed in all black and sunglasses, and that they left in a black Lincoln with dark tinted windows. Cruz says that the state highway patrol has been notified and there is a nationwide Amber alert put out, with a description of Marta, her kidnapper, and their vehicle. Angel asks if Cruz has any idea who could be behind it, and Cruz claims to have no idea. He says that it's unclear whether or not the people intended to kidnap Marta, but the longer she stays missing, the longer it looks that way. Angel wonders if Carlos could be connected and Cruz agrees that's a distinct possibility. A wrecked Carla then bursts into the room. "A possibility? A POSSIBILITY?
