  1. What about Y&R's creativity suicide though? What is Josh Griffith's problem? Doesn't he understand that nobody cares for her? She really needs to jump.
  2. Thank you for your answers. Boring and dull... wow. EON was a very unique show and I guess the circumstances weren't the same on the other soaps he worked. Late 70s OLTL -prior to the Buchanan invasion- (or even GH after Marland?) might have been more his style and worked out better.
  3. Can you name some similarities between Slesar's work on EON and other soaps like OLTL and Capitol?
  4. They were crazy to get rid of Ava Lazar. I know this is an unpopular opinion, but I prefer Linda Gibboney's Gina to Robin's. Back in those days I didn't care for Carrington Garland's Kelly, but now I realize that she is what the role needed to survive. The 80s were coming to an end and the princess in danger type could not stay any longer. Carrington and Kimberly Simms *Mindy 2 GL* were what their characters needed in order to keep up with the times. They were more like Nicolette Sheridan's Paige on KL.
  5. What was so shocking about a Jewish character?
  6. Santa Barbara suffered from 80s soap syndrome. Once the Dynasty-supercouple madness was gone, they had no idea what to do with a Capwell show without Cruz and Eden or their other big stars. This episode is so awkward. The Capwell kids and Rosa-Santana scenes reminded me of a telenovela.
  7. Someone like Vanessa Marcil as nu-Jill to fit with TSJ's Tucker?
  8. Reading the entire thread once again... I can't believe how many similarities L&F had with Generations. Both set in Chicago, with a formerly poor family moving in a big house, previously owned by rich people who lost their fortune. Ellie Saxton is similar to Ruth Marshall, both poor daughters who want to be accepted by the high society. L&F reads a lot like the movie Interiors (like Carl said some ten years ago). Adult, sophisticated drama. And all these workplace stories sound fascinating. And what an amazing music theme the show had. I guess casting was its biggest problem, charismatic actors might have made up for the slow start. The idea behind FRFP was insane from the start. It would have never worked.
  9. So Royce was Marland's chance to tell the Carrie Todd story the way he wanted?
  10. Didn't Bill Bell offer her the part of Stephanie Forrester on B&B? Or was it Jamie Lyn Bauer? Marla Adams, what a stunning woman. Brenda Dickson IS Jill. It is fascinating to compare these scenes to the ones from 1974 in the hair salon on the C mansion for the first time. I think that in the long run it was a mistake to focus so much on the Newman family. Especially after Heather Tom was gone.
  11. I tried reading Tucker's history and it was a mess. Why would someone want any of that back? The show had the perfect chance to bring back Brooks Prentiss with TSJ for the 50th anniversary. This screams Ashland 2.0.
  12. I can't believe that Y&R is stupid enough to lose MM twice. This woman should be the star of the show, but TPTB prefer to play musical chairs with the Sallys, the Chelseas, the Victorias and the Phyllisses. Y&R is a boring and bored show.
  13. I can't buy TSJ as Devon's father and as someone who is supposed to be older than Brock Reynolds, the same age as Jill, old enough to be Chance's grandfather BUT... if he -and Diane- can take us away from the Newman-Abbott-Phyllis Groundhog Day show... (Please don't kill them off within a year because the marriage to Victoria and the affairs with Nick, Adam and Billy will be badly written)
  14. It would be a huge mistake to hire TSJ in order to play a bland character like Dylan (who was never needed in the first place), or someone in Jill's age (who was never needed in the first place).
  15. .... Nick, Adam and Billy might make some room for her.
  16. Josh Griffith has some weird fascination with B&B. He tries to involve B&B characters in Y&R stories for no real reason most of the time. Isn't Summer in the fashion business with Marchetti? Why would she wear something from Forrester?
  17. I like everything you wrote. Everything is bigger than life for no real reason and no real drama comes out of it.
  18. I love how they are celebrating the most random, uninspired pairings.
  19. What was that all about? Were they thinking of introducing a Hollister family?
  20. They should have done this. On ATWT they had Lucinda marry a character played by Laurence Lau, who was obsessed with Luke. (If I remember correctly).
  21. Lily also suffered from DID
  22. Lets hope it is not a health scare. The abortion? (TSJ ends up being Victor and Ashley's son?)
