  1. Perhaps that is why she sold it to her for one dollar.
  2. I can't see Laura Sisk's Carly run Kelly's.
  3. Ι can understand DD's point of view, but in my eyes Paul missing in action isn't that important. The real issue with the show's synthesis is that Jill (whom we have seen since day one and who had the most iconic story) is seen from time to time as a random aunt. Paul was married to Christine -who is not around and who was not connected to anybody either. He was never father material. If I could get some veterans back, I'd try to get Jill and Dru.
  4. Nobody did, but now people act like GH is trying to recast Laura.
  5. I saw Dabney as a rich Alice Horton. Celeste Holm was more like Stephanie Forrester and Patricia Barry more like Phoebe Wallingford from the episodes I have seen online. Judging from her Mona Croft, Mundy would have been amazing with a strong presence.
  6. Yeah, it was probably me every single time. For some reason the history of several Springfield sets confuses me. Don't ask me why I kept thinking that Ross bought the cottage in the Wexler residence for his new bride Carrie. (And that Alan ended up with the Wexler mansion after Amanda left town). Thanks for the answer! Thanks for the answer! Nola should have kept Company, or at least should have stayed in Springfield running the boarding house.
  7. I am afraid that Frank Valentini is the only reason that GH is not comatose like the other soaps. GH is the only soap where things are happening. GH is not perfect, but it is not dead soap walking like B&B or Y&R, or just weird and "campy" like Days. BTW Kim Zimmer forgets that she didn't even have a dressing room on GL and had to change in gas station toilets.
  8. I guess she auditioned for Molly and they liked her. All these girls on GH look like sisters.
  9. Were the Spaulding offices located in the same building as Towers? I am always confused with GL sets. Ross's house was supposed to be the same place Ben and Amanda stayed? Alan and Hope got a new house while they were married. Was it the old Wexler house? Were the Cooper supposed to be living in the Reardon house in the later years?
  10. Yeah but Hayley looked eleven years old. How old is Molly supposed to be? The new actress doesn't look old, she just looks generic. Like Sascha, Esme and Willow's sister. BTW I didn't mind Mia at all.
  11. Is it too much to ask what all the houses on SEARCH were? Thanks to @dc11786 I now know what Liberty was. What about Hartford and Caldwell? By the way Liberty House sounds like THE CITY before THE CITY.
  12. We all remember Donna. Thanks for the scoop btw!
  13. I thought you let us know a few days ago Queen Donnatella, but some of the cool soap kids said that you had no idea what you were talking about.
  14. Queen Donnatella (aka @Donna L. Bridges) told us first, but nobody believed her. Because you know, she is not cool like us.
  15. Sofia Landon Geier, the one and only Diane Ballard.
  16. I'd say the first few months. It was not perfect, but there was a vision and the show was aesthatically pleasing. Down to earth, old-school soap. (I haven't watched anything from the 90s on a regular basis)
  17. What exactly was the Liberty House? Did everybody lose their homes and ended up staying there? Why do you think it was limiting?
  18. I have been watching a lot of THE DOCTORS lately. Mostly 1976-1980 episodes. The show is a lot better than I would have expected. For some reason the late 70s episodes feel like vintage Australian soap. It is the look of the actors, everyone looks normal and they live in normal homes, nobody is crazy rich I guess. The show's aesthetic is amazing. Love the closing credits. It is more vibrant than the P&G shows for sure. Then Doris Quinlan shows up and she gives a short in the arm at first. Love Viveca, the introduction of Dr Theresa Foster, her mother, Darryl and Bobbie. The Bennetts with the fascinating Valerie Mahaffey. I see no purpose in characters like Jack, Alan, Darcy, but the idea of featurning all these doctors make sense. Sometimes I feel that Viveca and Terri are replacing Carolee. Greta looks 30 now and Billy is a hunk. The show lost something with these generic recasts (sorry Alec). I was bored with Missy, but she didn't deserve such a brutal death. Neither did the viewers. I hate the last opening. Too -we are in the 80s now, we are so dramatic- for my taste. It has no heart. We get several "action scenes" and several outdoors scenes as well. They are as bad as ANOTHER WORLD's from the early 80s. THE DOCTORS was a little traditional show that got destroyed because of GENERAL HOSPITAL's crazy success. That poor soap had years of life ahead.
  19. What happened to Brad's plan to write a summer teen story involving RJ and some new kids (from new families or something?) Did he choose to go on vacation instead?
  20. I have the same thoughts about Linda Gibboney and Robin Mattson on Santa Barbara. I love watching Susan Keith as Cecile in old episodes. The Cory Complex was such a sophisticated set before every single soap decided they wanted to be GH and Cecile became an 80s cliche under (the wonderful) Nancy Frangione.
  21. I first watched 1987 episodes on Sky One, a UK station. You are right about that.
  22. Greece and Germany as well. Greece aired early 80s stuff with Mister Big, Miranda and an amnesiac David falling for Cynthia. German viewers got to watch some early 90s episodes.
  23. A nice, normal couple who is friends with everybody. A matriarch not played by an aging vixen wanting to look 35 for the rest of her life. A patriarch not played by an aging hunk wanting to look 35 for the rest of his life.
  24. Douglas Marland after the Corringtons on SEARCH in the late 70s. That show could have used some structure and some new interesting families. Chuck Pratt on B&B. This would be an improvement from Brad Bell. There was a time when B&B seemed to love 90s primetime soap aesthetics. Ron and Frank taking over GL instead of working together on OLTL. They would bring the show back to life after Wheeler's dark, depressing and claustrophobic era.
