  1. I agree about casting. And I think that the show might be the support system KS needs right now, though I have no idea and don't want to know what her personal issues are.
  2. Maxie has been through so many crazy and random stories which left her with three children from three different men. For me this is always a sign that a character has not much story left, until one of the kids grow up. She is a familiar face with a different vibe than most soap actresses her age and she would be just fine as a C character, someone like Amy Vining. She is not someone I see and think, she needs to go NOW. There other characters and actors for that in my list.
  3. Sorry but I can't hate FV. GH is the only soap that doesn't feel dead soap walking, or milk that you have left in the fridge for years. He tries new things, he respects the veterans, is on budget and has people talking. Would I like a new opening? Yes. Better sets? Of course. But I wouldn't trade these things for a new bored producer with late 90s Days of Our Lives aesthetics who just wants a check for a while. (Would I mind someone like Wendy Riche, Susan Bedsow-Horgan, Ginger Smith or a back from the dead Robert Calhoun though? No.) As for KS.. The poor woman is playing a C character at this point, but I guess many of you can't stand watching a fat chick with issues who can't find clothes her size that make her feel good. I am sure many of you might have wanted Jesse Brewer recast with a more glamorous and less problematic actress in the early 80s?
  4. What were the plans for Audrey North? What was the point of her scenes? They hired Constance Towers for that?
  5. The Feminist showed up in several shows.
  6. The frigid young woman was very much in fashion in the 70s.
  7. I adored Ava Lazar. She was leading lady material. The other Santanas not so much. Although I must admit that I found Wanda de Jesus a strong presence. Gina's entire arch could/should have been given to Santana.
  8. Inspired by your 80s Trends topic 😉
  9. 😍 Another 90s trend: the steamy sex scene. Sax, satin sheets and all.
  10. Wow, your Santa Barbara is fascinating. It almost reads like an East Coast soap. Perhaps that was the show's real problem. It was not meant to be as "simple" and one-dimensional as it ended up being.
  11. I have seem some random episodes where Draper and April discuss moving to Oakdale. What was that all about? I am obsessed with late 70's-1980 episodes. Such a "grown up", modern soap. Friends, co-workers, couples, crime, mystery and of course Raven living her life unapologetically like a man.
  12. The 90s had the primetime specials as it has already been said in the 80s thread. The psychotic obsessive woman who became crazier than ever. A Latino invasion with new families and romantic leads. Everyone trying to outreily James E. Reily with insane, outlandish posts. The teens become more prominent. The Melrose Place aesthetics. Even NY soaps got a California vibe.
  13. I started a new thread, for everyone who is interested in discussing the 90s trends.
  14. Jack would have died many years ago. And with EB's ego, things might not have been that different.
  15. Replacing the previous music theme with... this 😪
  16. I thought that Rita insisted on moving near the Spauldings. And I am almost certain that the redorated Wexler mansion is the house Hope is redecorating once again the summer 1982 episodes. Perhaps they used parts of the Wexler set once Amanda was gone?
  17. I am almost certain that I have heard Alan and Hope discuss a new home. During that time Amanda was staying at the Wexler Estate alone and I am almost certain that it was the same set with the 80s Spaulding mansion one.
  18. I'been sayting that this is the same place for years. The question I have... wasn't this house part of the Wexler estate? And am I crazy to think that Amanda inherited Lucille's house and Alan eventually moved there with Hope? Making this the Spaulding mansion?
  19. Erica learned very early in her life that men leave you and go away. She always wanted a man in her life because she didn't want to feel the void of her childhood again, but not a specific one. She was hurt as a child and she became a drama queen in order to learn how to play with her pain. I don't think that Erica believed in love. Only in the pain it brings you.
  20. In 2000 Rob became the Art Director for the CBS-TV daytime drama Guiding Light. He has been nominated for three Emmys for his work on that show. On permanent sets for kitchens, restaurants and hotels with Guiding Light, he has been a part of earthquakes, floods and fires. He then made the transition into handheld, location and exterior work in the show's later years. He was with Guiding light through its last episode in 2009. 21. The opening was the only thing left as a reminder of which soap was on. The problemn with SB was that it was a product of the 80s. Supercouple mania with a Dynasty vibe. They tried to move on to the 90s with Pamela Long, but it was not the right way. I find her work on this show horrible.
  22. Wasn't another short-haired blonde around during that time? A bad girl, who was someone's ex-wife. They liked the type.
  23. Such a weird recast. Was KM hired while Maura West was gone and they wanted a Carly lookalike? I adored Melanie Smith btw.
  24. Tom left them and Bea turned their home into a boarding house when most of the kids grew up and left town. Nola used to complain about growing up poor and working as a servant for strangers in her own home. The Gail Kobe exterior shot never fit with the backstory and my imagination. Then things got really crazy when the Reardons ended up with Company being thrown in their property....
