Scott Bailey was indeed generic and never offered nothing special. His acting work also left a lot to be desired, whether it was on GL, Undressed (don’t judge me lol), that MyNetwork TV telenovela where he was really, really bad, or the Kamen Rider remake on the CW.

He also may have killed Models Inc 😂 I still don’t get what the obsession was. I could understand B&B touting a new ABC star as Gaskill was hired along with Sydney Penny, Lorenzo Lamas, and Linda Gray (while Bobbie Eakes was given the shaft). Of course the character bombed as Bridget’s new love interest (not to mention there was a really bad Bridget recast) and just fizzled out within a year, which is typical of B&B. On ATWT they touted him as a new love interest for Katie but when it didn’t work the show turned him into a James Stenbeck wannabe with two tall blonde Scandinavian female wrestlers as minions, and the story literally ended bombing. GL as Dylan was laughable and I won’t say more. I suspect Barbara Bloom was behind it. I’m actually surprised she didn’t have MAB & Co. hire him as Adam or something.

This photo of him is so much more flattering of him and unlike the TVG one I immediately recognized him and his features where I found him unrecognizable in the TVG one. And yes we’ll have to see how he looks on screen as JEP looked a whole lot better than some photos I had seen. Unfortunately not all of us can maintain the perpetual frat boy look Josh Morrow has had for the last 30 years lol. (Which is quite a feat for JM)

Y&R viewers were treated to a 20-year classic episode showcasing a lot of nostalgia. Meanwhile out of all the thousands and thousands of episodes, B&B viewers were treated to a 6-month “classic” all about Ridge seeing Brooke through a glory hole of “destiny”. 😵‍💫

Surprisingly both Diane and Lynn (who was featured in the opening credits of today’s episode) actually got proper send-off’s in the fall of 2004 at a time when characters like Mamie, Miguel, John Silva, and Wesley were all unceremoniously dumped and disappeared. And thanks haha I knew the actress had been on Y&R but I was thinking it was Kelly Garrison (Hilary Lancaster) for a moment.

At this point Diane was just playing a supporting role mostly. She had a slight involvement with Isabella’s disappearance story but that was about it. With the Tuvia/Safra war her plot twist was her saving Jabot with money she had gotten from Victor’s divorce settlement. Afterwards she then petitioned to get custody of Kyle from Jack & Phyllis and moved back into the Abbott house before leaving to Chicago the following year.

KHC was such a welcome presence at the time but the show was also so desperate to find a winning Shemar replacement and eventually the show lost interest in Damon once they got Shemar back (for like 6 months lol).

Yeah if Kevin had been killed off the following year we’d probably look back fondly on him as a crazed villain like David Kimble. I was bit shocked to see SW with that hair length though as I don’t remember that hairstyle on her—at first glance I thought she was Mitzi Kapture’s Anita Hodges until she spoke.

Brittany! Raul! Bobby! JT! Heather Tom! Actual sets and an actual business story. Actually I feel like Raul and Brittany should be leading their own family. I know Jack Smith kind of messed up Brittany trying so hard to make her the new Nikki, but I hated how that story ended so badly.

LOL didn’t Reese partially steal the baby because he also wanted to help Taylor, who he was dating, help get back at Brooke? Thudley will probably say Taylor fell off the wagon in Paris again unless he chooses to actually recast Taylor again with another other actress.

LOL there’s been a lot of things Thomas has done that he was never exposed like Thomas spiking Brooke’s drinks for Quinn and Thomas doing Sheila’s dirty work right before Finn & Steffy were shot. I wouldn’t be surprised if we also don’t get mentions of Thomas blowing up Rick’s car (remember when everyone wanted to kill Rick LMAO?) and his date rape of Caroline. But you know Thomas was just there for Emma’s death just like Sheila was just there for Dr. Jay Gavin’s death LOL. I also wouldn’t be surprised if Thomas flips the tables and brings up the vat of acid thing with Hope.

And your prediction turned out to be absolutely correct about this being payback for Emma, although it’s still random. It was completely random back then for Liam and Hope to mourn Emma when I don’t think they shared any scenes at all together. If anything, maybe we’ll get Justin back soon for this as well to avoid this being completely DOA.

What was the point of Michael and Lauren having their vows renewed? It would have been far more interesting for Michael and Lauren if a recast Fen & Trey showed abruptly saying they needed to move in because they’re broke or something.

I see Thudley was drinking some extra hard spiked eggnog while teasing this preview 🤣 And what, exactly is Josh Griffith previewing for 2024? Other than the minor Sharon point everything he mentioned is basically a summary of what’s been going on for the show for the past month. 🙄🙄 I haven’t watched Days since the Bo/Hope stuff ended so badly other than the Dick Van Dyle cameo but Tate and Holly are now SOARSed teenagers going to jail…? Maybe I dipped out just in time.

LOL. And here I was also still reading the GL wondering whatever happened to MADD and McTavish, I’ll stop thinking about that now. 😬🤯

Good lord that was me in the GL thread, I’m sorry to have talked him up! He does look weathered…is this just a guest role? As it stands Gaskill will join LeBlanc and Zack Conroy as the rare group of actors who managed to appear on all four big CBS soaps (Y&R, ATWT, B&B, and GL)

Was that the bad credit score or credit card debt story? I wasn’t an OLTL viewer but I clearly remember at the end of 2002 there was this widespread anti-OLTL furor going on online while SOD, SPW, and TVG all named the show the worst soap of 2002, and everyone pointing out that story. I loved Sherri on Beach and remember just reading about it sounded like a odd story for any soap to tell when presented as high stakes drama.

Yay now that Eric’s not dying and Christmas is over everyone and is back doing their normal routine to the point that Ridge straight up told Hope he didn’t see Eric at the hospital just to see Finn. Good lord that was over fast. I’m surprised we didn’t see Donna bring Eric his stapler at the office. I gotta say though I loved JMW’s look and style at the Forrester office like a younger Jess Walton or Lauren Koslow.

🤣 I had a moment of nostalgia for real though with today’s episode. I clearly remember Clarence’s “in a Y&R minute!”, “what in the WORLD is going on?!?” and “Quick! Turn on the LIGHT!” I don’t remember what he did for B&B though. The other moment of nostalgia I surprisingly had was the Phyllis/Danny/Christine scenes today. As hokey as it is it actually felt real Y&R again and I liked the scenes of Daniel, Michael, and Lauren as well.
