  1. I’m glad to hear that he’s well, I enjoyed his work and wasn’t sure whatever happened to him after disappearing from the pages of SOW. If I recall from her own blog posts and her posts back in the day when she visited the SON boards that she had a very good rapport with and tremendous respect for Reilly himself. She just wanted Passions to succeed.
  2. I hate to dig deep into the memory bank and my archive for that I thought I was going crazy. Poor SOW. While I was primarily a SOD subscriber SOW was still fun to pick up and read in the mid-late 90’s to the early 00’s. After that it was downhill following the mag getting gutted and dumbed down. It was one thing for SOW to feature Desperate Housewives and Grey’s Anatomy on the covers, I get it to an extent; but to plaster American Idol on the cover and also declare on the cover “It’s like a soap!!!” in lieu of the actual soaps was absurd and incomprehensible. I knew the end was nigh for the mag.
  3. @Contessa Donatella @SoapsudsYou’re right, it wasn’t PJ at all. The columnist at SOW I was thinking of was P.K. Waddle
  4. Was that when Corday declared war on SOW because they named the Gina and Submarine sex stuff as Worst Story of 1999 and was mad SOW kept pointing out the plummeting ratings? I really wish I could remember what PJ’s last name was. For some reason I was thinking SOW but maybe it was another publication?
  5. Thanks for sharing @Soapsuds!! I miss the old columns and analysis that Marlena, Mimi Torchin, and that one person, PJ or something (I think it was PJ) did at SOW back in the late 90’s. The next generation of soap columnists Jonathan Reineer, Daniel Coleridge, Nelson Branco and the folks at DC were insufferable to read and completely lackluster compared to their predecessors.
  6. Thanks for the tag as always @DRW50 I appreciate seeing the Kim/Susan scenes here a lot. I agree with the others it’s a criminally underrated rivalry with a long rich history, with of course a lot more to come, with only later fleeting moments like 2004 where boiled up again. I always loved the Barbara vs Shannon scenes too, just as epic in my book.
  7. Same. Knowing what I know now about Daniel & Lily redux being blown up for nothing, in retrospect maybe Billy and Lily just should have stayed together in the first place, at least she keeps him in check most of the time. Billy is like an albatross to the show at this point when he doesn’t serve a clear purpose. I think the show would do well to stick him back into the Jabot mix with Kyle on the outs.
  8. LOL true. Billy & Chelsea’s relationship has been barely seen and rightly so. At least Billy has moved on from venting in a podcast 🤣😂
  9. Totally agree haha I’m just now all caught up myself and was wondering your thoughts about the past week or so! I agree it’s nice to see the show writing for MM and AL’s strengths again, even though Kyle’s story is terrible and all about himself. That said if Kyle gets reduced to being Audra’s errand boy/sextoy again at her beck and call until she tosses him aside, then he deserves it LOL. Speaking of Audra, @Taoboi look for the 7/12 episode to have a good and fun ending to it when we finally get the Nate and Audra scenes we’ve been waiting for. While I like Summer is plotting to stick it to Kyle, this is where I wish the show hadn’t unceremoniously dropped Chance to recurring or get him into business as custody story would work better with him as a cop in the mix and provide another male perspective instead of just seeing Kyle stuck between Claire, Summer, and Audra. I agree with you on the Adam/Chelsea stuff it’s rather unbelievable and unnecessary. Grossman’s Adam is so different and just never had chemistry with MCE. The only time Adam & Chelsea really worked was during the Hartley years when Hartley and MCE were just electric together and likeable at a time when a good chunk of the show was insufferable (Hello Nick & Sage!) A good reminder was back when MG Adam and SW Diane shared scenes and mentioned their past that had occurred under MM Adam and MW Diane, and it was super awkward as heck LOL. Onto this week, I liked that Katie still wasn’t totally accepting of Claire but did like their relationship building scenes. Uh oh at Sharon I don’t like what I’m seeing here. It looks like JG may finally have a story developing for Sharon, but is she on the way to back to crazytown?
  10. Yes that was the season, and Romano was also heavily criticized for also trying make the Ned/Julia abusive relationship story look “sexy”. The running joke online was the show went downhill after the cast’s Entertainment Weekly cover story in ‘97, but Romano’s tenure was the coffin nails like @Chris B had said. Between the Knots and Party of Five stints Romano had been responsible for two very notorious flops, one being the disastrous Glenn Frey South of Sunset, the other being a failed David Caruso comeback drama made at the bottom depths of Caruso’s career. After Romano was fired at Party of Five, I don’t think he ever worked on anything significant ever again.
  11. Poor Hollis 😭 Actually in my opinion the killer will turn out to be Li. I still say this show is still gunning for that moment where Li ends up getting compared to, if not worse than, Sheila.
  12. Ha!! Actually that would be too much fun for JG to write but I can just imagine Michael Mealor’s Kyle giving a high pitched scream. Idk strangely enough a custody story over Harrison actually has shades of Kyle’s custody issues from 2003/04 between Phyllis, Jack, and Diane, where Phyllis was in the same boat as Summer is in, except we were dealing with a repentant Diane who had previously lost custody. It would be very awkward though if that was brought up on screen.

  14. May he rest in peace, but it seemed anytime in the later years of the Lorimar sops when Filerman got personally involved everything turned to $#!+. See what happened to Falcon Crest’s Season 8, yikes. Filerman made some very reckless decisions and poor choices on both FC and Knots, and earlier on Flamingo Road (I think?). He was better off collecting a check and just doing his minimum oversight as did for so many years before getting personally involved. Filerman later apologized for some stuff in some interview with a fan club in the early ‘00’s, which was interesting and added some perspective. After Four Corners flopped badly I don’t think Filerman ever worked again.
  15. Well said!!! I think you articulated it better than I could have. Business stories need to go for sure. The newest most ridiculous thing is Victor telling Audra to move Glissade from Paris to GC…..? Didn’t we have this weird pointless garbage with Marchetti moving to GC from Milan. WTF? Other than MS, JM, and MO I’m fine with the current cast and characters. It’s the incompetent writing & production holding this show back and it won’t be solved until JG & Kent are gone. Are we really stuck with this through 2028 again?
  16. Visiting LA and the walk of fame and accidentally stumbled over her star yesterday 😊😊😊
  17. It’s a bit hypocritical on Brooke’s part LOL, as it was just a mere 6 years ago Brooke actively encouraged an uncertain Hope to go after Liam with the whole “It’s okay to go after a married man because you love him” mantra 🤣 The first way to improve this show is to quit the constant focus on triangles. Just have the conflict come from a different source i.e. a bad quarter at Forrester putting Hope vs. Steffy, design theft/forgery, Liam’s death etc.
  18. Ahhh…was that back when after Steffy left LA Liam and Hope were given their “big happily ever after” crap only for Hope became obsessed with Wyatt and the diamonds? No wonder why Kim Matula quit with that nonsense. Speaking of nonsense did Thudley already drop his plans for the Vine? She hasn’t appeared since May it had sounded like she was sticking around long term.
  19. Thanks for sharing!!! I do remember watching this at WOST way back in 2006. If I recall the details right the episode aired on 1/20/89 and I think part of it was/May have been preempted on the East Coast due coverage of George Bush’s inauguration but it did air in full in the west. I love the self-referential humor involved in the episode too.
  20. Are Katie and Carter officially over? I must have missed a break up scene lol or the show just moved on. The homeless guy dies and yet none of the rest of the week went back to what happened. So much for “BIG simmering murder mystery” 🤣 Thomas/Paris is basically a retread of his pairing with Zoe. I agree Hope needs some sort of therapy for all of this LOL.
  21. LOL I meant to comment on that earlier too. I think this Kyle/Summer story would have worked better if they were still married or at the very least on the verge of reconciliation. At least it would explain better why Summer would want to keep Kyle on his leash. But yes Kyle is behaving like the spoiled entitled brat he is.
  22. Yikes, an out of the blue Chadam redux is something nobody wanted yet Griffith gave it to us anyways. 🤮🤢 This whole OCD story is already rubbish & unwatchable. Based on social media reactions, I dread what the next plot point is going to be…. Why couldn’t we just have Genoa City celebrate the 4th of July instead? Better yet, why wasn’t Thursday’s episode a classic repeat?
