  1. Apologies as I know some of this has been shared before but the masquerade ball drawings are so cheesy and easy to laugh at:
  2. Thanks it took for the longest to realize he was David’s goon. I believe Izzy had also helped him craft the the Big Jim Adams persona too. The best of Mari Jo:
  3. I love Barton as Mari Jo. Mari Jo was definitely the show’s femme fatale, she was so mysterious and collected it’s too bad she didn’t stay longer on the show.
  4. Exactly. Similar to Florida’s situation Myrtle Beach has become a Petri dish really between already ill locals and tourists coming from all over. McMaster is too spineless and ineffective to do anything about it as long as he pushes it off onto others.
  5. Thanks for the research indeed!! Jay & Cindy are another pair of lost Y&R recurring side characters unfortunately. I’ve tried scrolling through the IMDB before to dig up info on some folks like Nicholas Walker’s guest stint in 1988 and trying to find out who the hell Izzy Adams was. For the record, these were the Crimson Lights Barista guys: Jay 1994-99 Cody Dixon 1999-2004. This was Brody Hutzler’s character. Trevor O’Connell 2004-2005, but prior to this Trevor had been an occasional Newman ranch hand dating back to 1999. I think he may have been Cody’s cousin or something. Dylan 2005-Appeared in close to 100 eps that year. I can’t remember the actor’s name but if I recall right he was related to someone big on the show lol.
  6. @Soapsuds Holden first saw that painting in the famed 5/5/93 Marland tribute episode, this must have been very shortly after that, maybe 5/7/93? Anytime I see Glynnis Margo I just grimace. How I remember some these details and not some of my own passwords is a great question really....
  7. I remember that too later on but there was an episode of where Holden discovered Caleb had anger management issues and Julie had devolved into a constant party girl or something so he convinced Caleb to let Aaron stay in Oakdale which happened before he met Lucy during Abigail’s trial. It was pretty unflattering to both Caleb & Julie,
  8. If I recall right I think Aleksander started around in June 1982 around the same time as Phil McGregor started as Freddy/Rick. Edit: Oh I see someone posted it above! 😁
  9. @kalbir I had read once that was the rumor but it seems Bonneville Broadcasting was always pick & choose over what offended them so who knows. You're definitely right on the money about KIRO not wanting to give up that noon hour, even today: 9AM: LMAD 10AM: TPIR 11AM: Y&R 12PM: News 1PM: The Talk 2PM: B&B KOMO and KING were powerhouses in Seattle for the longest, I imagine that still is true but I'm not sure. BTW when KSTW was CBS from 1995-97 they ran Y&R at 3PM after GL from a September 1996 schedule I found.
  10. We are doomed here in South Carolina: https://www.cbs17.com/news/6-states-issue-warning-about-myrtle-beach-as-coronavirus-cases-spike/?fbclid=IwAR3SXcOJCcJLWR4w7ovupsXre6rcKm9Ek4t-d-Bm70lZGhlfjkWojWg8lNU
  11. I don’t remember her appearing at all during those years, she might have popped up in ‘03 but if she did I missed it. Colleen left in the spring of ‘04 but came back to visit for Christmas. The first time I remember seeing Traci again since her 01/02 appearances was definitely in early 06 when John left to go to jail.
  12. Did B&B ever air on KIRO before 1995? KIRO and KSL were both CBS affiliates owned by a Mormon broadcasting company, and that B&B didn’t air those markets until they flopped affiliations to different stations (KUTV in Salt Lake and and for a few years KSTW was the CBS station for Seattle). KSL, still Mormon owned moved Days to overnights because of the Will & Sonny storyline and still do today. They use to be the dominant station in the market but their lead has completely unraveled the past decade from what I understand.
  13. I had forgot about the Lyla/Katie stuff, interesting someone tried at the helm tried to walk it back in that Christmas ep yet ironically her grandson was busted for theft. Sheesh. But yeah, other soaps have used it as well. Around the same time Aaron came back GL was doing a story of where Marina came back because Eleni was trapped in an abusive relationship. The less said about Fletcher dumping Ben off in a boarding school to fend for his own the better. Sheffer later also used elements of the issue for Ricky and very strangely Fenmore on Y&R to disastrous results.
  14. Definitely agree about Julie, at the time I was interested in seeing where the stuff with Carly and Julie was headed until I got the word Julie was out like the week before. Ugh. When Aaron came to town in '02 he came in as a runaway with the Snyders finding out Caleb & Julie had been reckless/irresponsible/neglectful of him, something of course Sheffer pulled later on Days (Jeremy Horton being neglected, possible abused by Mike). His 2005 departure was because he found out Julie was terminally ill with cancer and was on hospice. Sheesh! I think in his 07-08 return he mentioned briefly she had recovered in a throwaway line and weren't even mentioned when Aaron came back for Holden's "funeral" in '09.
  15. He came back for a couple episodes to see Tammy after Sandy's death and visited Lizzie(Rylan had just taken over) for like an ep. In the transition period from Weston to Kriezman a lot of old references came popping up. It was just a relief after Weston's GL had completely twisted and ruined all GL canon that existed prior to 2003.
  16. I dug up this news article from 2001, here's the gist of it:
  17. @kalbir That move to a 4PM timeslot was wild and obscene for Love of Life, it had to be a show killing move on purpose. It didn’t help the show at the time was heavily panned due it having bizarre stories not seen since the days of radio and early TV soaps. I’ve read some stations aired it a day behind at 3:30 after GL or in the mornings, even airing the final episode on 2/4/80 since they were a day behind(!).
  18. Thanks for sharing! I dug around some old schedules and here’s what I found: This was for KMOX(now KMOV) St Louis, a CBS O&O dated 2/2/1981: 11:30 SFT 12:00 Y&R 1:00 ATWT 2:00 GL But then I came across this, here’s what the lineup looked like for both KCMO(now KCTV) in Kansas City dated 2/26/1980: 11AM: Y&R 12:30 SFT 1PM: ATWT 2PM: GL So it’s entirely possible they started that 12ET/11CT feed at that time.
  19. Donnelly’s exit was indeed to tied to this feud, and MTS of course had some extremely intense contract negotiations in ‘01 that wasn’t resolved until the 11th hour that then show wrote Nikki out in Aug ‘01...to which Scott announced his resignation by year’s afterward. Given what we know about Scott now it makes seniors someone close was the provocateur in all this.
  20. I remember Tony & Megan were poised to become the next big thing on Y&R I’m not sure what happened there, did the Scott/Alden feud start that early?
  21. Thanks for digging that stuff up, I know those archives aren’t easy to navigate especially the pre 1994 stuff from old BBS boards that’s on there. I seriously wonder if any of those folks still watch the show at all.
  22. I would for someone to interview Purdee in this day and age! I wish someone would find Randy Brooks as well, I don’t know why for sure he left Y&R but he was horribly mistreated by the writers on AW. So of course when Olivia went to heaven in 2000 she met ALW Nathan instead.
  23. Thanks @DRW50 for sharing those late 94/early 95 eps I certainly enjoyed watching them! The Hal/Margo scene did feel off-putting to me and was strange...during these years I did actually enjoy the Hal & Dolan Margo’s friendship and close working partnership with the angsty undercurrent almost always coming from Tom. But Hal of this era was too blunt for his own good. Still Hal vs. Tom was enjoyable to watch, even if their arguments boiled down to Jeremy Wheeler being good or bad to be around Adam and taking cheap shots at each other. At the time I was annoyed by Julie’s kids but in retrospect they’re much more refreshing to watch now especially to see how talented Biggs(glad he had his time, no idea what he’s done lately) was in the role. I hated they got rid of Caleb & Julie to this day and later came up with some really crappy off-screen stories for the two when Aaron was on in the 00’s. Sheesh. Getting an old school movie star like Claire Bloom as Orlena was quite a coup for ATWT it’s a shame the show wasn’t able to keep her all the way to the end of Orlena’s reign. Re: Andy up in Mike & Rosanna’s business—this was a Marland era hangover from the cliche of Oakdale folks gossiping too much while out on the town lol. Would NEVER had happened in Genoa City. 😁
  24. Wonder if today’s planned ep will her posted online later?
  25. I know right. Haha do flame wars and board wars even exist in 2020 anymore? Just for the fun of it, [S.W.S.N.B.N.] !
