  1. I'm the last one to discount breaking points (my last straw with Y&R was airing a recap episode the Monday of Memorial Day weekend, delaying the verdict in Nina's trial....but there were a lot of other things that pissed me off too---Cricket and her constant harem of men, Sheila overload)....but there had to be ten years between the affair and them marrying.
  2. Y'know....I don't really hate the idea of a Bob/Lisa story. If you didn't watch during the '60's, you didn't really get to see them as a couple. Other than Grant, I really do consider Bob as Lisa's great love.
  3. *sigh* My Carjack loving heart melts..... <3
  4. I believe Eduardo was Damian's father's cousin. I'm not sure they ever specified the how and why of it.
  5. LOL at freakin' Lisa shaming anyone for a child-raising related issue. She didn't even raise her own children! I do wish I had seen Lisa/Alma scenes. I think it would be fascinating to see Lisa and her mother.
  6. Well....Lisa did bust up her mother's marriage to Michael Shea. He was a louse, but I'm sure Ellen didn't appreciate her mother being humiliated by the affair that produced Chuckie Shea.
  7. And still smokin' hot, no matter what some GHbitchyfans say.
  8. I was alright with Sarah too---and her relationship with Paul. The writing was the problem. (I still can't believe John Howard was ever hired---certainly not over Michael Park...) I didn't care too much for Mark, as he was the latest in a long line of Lily-defenders, but then again, I didn't hate him much either. (oh, the simplicity of life before the 'net...LOL)
  9. I liked Wert. (and the TNG geek in me loves knowing he's Wesley Crusher's father) But he was no Joseph Breen. I think Wert could have worked in the role, but the writers simply didn't know what to do with him, and once Maura left, he and Yvonne Perry were dumped, while SC limped around and finished his contract in early '97. As one-note as SC ultimately proved to be, Rosanna/Mike weren't a ratings disaster for ATWT. Bringing his Kasnoff siblings was a disaster, but that wasn't his fault. BTW, S, that's one bitchin' banner. Flove two-thirds of it. LOL.
  10. 2001, Andy was definitely on the canvas. I think Paul (Scott Hoylrod) came on in July after Babs was burned. I don't know why they bothered either, I couldn't tell you anything Lien did. They probably could have plugged any Asian actress in, and Solanga happened to be interested in pocket money.
  11. Believe me, that's as diplomatic as I can be about Hunt Block. I guess I have to credit Sheffer with some kind of success in keeping ATWT afloat...but damn that man for ruining Craig (and Paul, but that's another rant...) and undoing YEARS of story to service his obsession with Hunt Block, who couldn't wring water from a sponge if he was on fire. I wouldn't say upset....but I admit, I couldn't not say something! LOL. In theory, a rebooted Craig would have been fine. IMO, Hunt Block was simply the wrong person to be someone so iconic to the show. Showing emotion was not his strong suit, and the writing played to that, disastrously. As much as I hated him on ATWT, I loathed him on GL even more. I'll never forget Blake crawling across the floor to get away from him, only to give in and screw him anyway.
  12. I am speechless with how much I disagree with that sentence. Hunt Block put the suck in sucktastic.
  13. ICAM!! As talented as DM was, I think he could write things into the ground. Poor Iva always got sand kicked in her face. Sometimes I wonder if he purposefully kept Iva tragic, to keep her separate from Nola, who he'd also written. But Kirk/Iva were my favorite couple. Damn I wish I'd kept my videocassettes of them.
  14. It is one of the great injustices that Lisa Brown doesn't have an emmy, for either Nola or Iva. I think Lisa's teaching or directing. I know she directed some of Martha Byrne's net series Gotham.
  15. I also saw on twitter that April 1st was Don Hastings' 80th birthday. 80! He aged very well. I kind of forget what a hunk Bob was in his younger days. I think I'll dig up that 40th anniversary montage. I floved that.
  16. I'd completely forgotten that. It was kind of Rebhorn to make a last appearance on a P&G soap.
  17. I have no clue what the "thankless bit" was at the end of ATWT, but Rebhorn was one of the best examples of the genre. While some actor's success outside of daytime surprised me, his never did. He was the personification of evil, but not in the typical supervillainous way---in the ordinary, every day way that lurks in society.
  18. They pinned Diego Santana's murder on Kirk and were going to write him off in '97, so TW did get a little reprieve. I LOVED Kirk. And Kirk and Iva.
  19. Incest does seem like a recurring theme in Marland's post-GH career. I think the Angel incest story was more happenstance, as I believe the scab writers sent Holden off with Angel during the strike. I'm not sure there was any backing off in the Iva/Josh story, since I think her being adopted was always the plan.
  20. I had completely blocked out that Michael won that second emmy.
  21. The first time I ever wanted to buy a soap mag was SOD when they had a pic of Hal and Barb for their wedding. I still think that is one of the most gorgeous soap wedding gowns I've ever seen.
  22. Y'know, those scenes reminded me why I loved Scott Bryce and Craig so much. Obviously, this is at a point where none of the Snyders know Lily is Iva's daughter or Josh isn't their cousin or the fact it was rape. Marland was always a master of drawing out the story in a believable way. Seth somehow found out about the pregnancy, but Iva's still hiding details until she can't avoid spilling some more. I always loved how protective the Snyder boys were over Iva where Josh was concerned. Is Tad dead at this point?
  23. Seriously, what channel is that? I can't get it to unmute. Maybe if I go to YT, I can listen to it there. LOL at Gregg Marx with his shirt unbuttoned nearly to the waist, at the Mona Lisa to boot. Thank God we never had to see Scott Holmes dress like that.
