  1. Lots of popcorn matches here. Maria vs Kiki or Maria vs Wozniacki would be delicious for their drama potential, although I hope Kiki takes care of business. Bertens will be tricky for Caroline.
  2. Agree with Nancy Curlee. To me, her GL was almost perfect soap for a good stretch. Springfield under her pen really felt like a community where no one eclipsed anyone else. Balanced storytelling that nothing after could possibly live up to. Bill Bell. A total master of tension, tone, pacing, psychology, and payoffs. Y&R circa 1991-92 is just about as good as entertainment gets. Claire Labine. Sometimes awkward with broad comedy (Foster/Annabelle, turning Lucy into a super-annoying ditz, Todd and the parrot, May Merisi), but she did deeply intelligent, moving, and adult drama like no one else. Responsible for the most elegant dialogue I’ve heard on daytime. Those actors were truly blessed to speak her words.
  3. That’s going to be tough to watch. My two favorite players. Not even going to venture a guess as to who’ll win. Taro Daniel wins his first title in Istanbul! Didn’t know that about Sousa. Did he get cited for match fixing? Madison Keys lost in the first round in Madrid. Osaka and Ostapenko also out.
  4. Sousa was lucky to have that insurance break in the second set after failing to serve it out at 5-2. Playing at home can be a double-edged sword as we’ve seen with other players who can’t get it together at home tournaments. It was a good week for Frances. A lot he can build on and learn from.
  5. Malek Jaziri has this menacing, international playboy type of beauty.
  6. Wow at Tiafoe. He just might win his second ATP title tomorrow (while the more hyped Fritz and Donaldson have yet to win their maiden titles on the main tour). Dominating a player as crafty as PCB on clay is no small accomplishment. He may have unorthodox strokes, but they’re effective.
  7. What. A. Draw!
  8. Some more people if you’re still interested: Rena Sofer Signy Coleman Helen Gallagher Ana Alicia Michael Fairman Wesley Addy Grant Show Christopher Durham
  9. He’s on B&B now. And... yikes.
  10. He still looked good to me at the end of this clip. Older and plumper as expected for a fortysomething but still impressive. https://tennischanneleverywhere.com/watch/jared-nba-debate-round-3 The boyfriend is stunning, but is probably several years younger and has more melanin.
  11. JMG? He was shirtless in the one clip I saw. JMG and his apparent partner Malek Alqadi.
  12. I was reading Joe Hagan’s Sticky Fingers bio of Rolling Stone founder Jann Wenner, but I keep getting sidetracked by other work projects. A pretty decent read so far.
  13. Lol. I need to see if he addresses that on “My Tennis Life.” I totally doubt it, but I want to see... EDIT: They totally don’t mention it as I expected. Those videos would be not at all worth watching if not for the gratuitous JMG eye candy.
  14. The guy’s got a temper. At least he didn’t get all Jared Donaldson and have a tantrum.
  15. I think he knew he should have won that match. We’ve seen antics from Grigor before (the Istanbul final with Schwartzman) that are OOC.
  16. I saw that. Lame from Grigor but he’ll get over it.
  17. Not watching the BH reunion, but Erika Jayne is getting dragged left and right on Twitter.
  18. I’m digging Yuichi Sugita with the facial hair. There’s something Fognini-esque about him with the beard. EDIT: I just realized he’s wearing Fabio’s kit. Jared Donaldson is having a rough go of it. Out in the first round of Barcelona to Dutra Silva. Saw that Sandgren was out to Jaziri.
  19. Wow at these Stuttgart R1 matches
  20. NISHIKORI! With this win, he’s up to #22 in the world.
  21. I saw things with Novak that looked promising, so I’m hopeful. Obviously his fitness isn’t all the way back, but I think getting back with Vajda will be helpful. Fingers crossed he stays the course. The one thing that’s been good about the time away is that fans are more appreciative of Novak and maybe even Andy. I’ll admit to wanting to have Andy back on tour. That’ll probably change pretty quickly once he starts scowling, cursing, and chirping at his box again lol, but he’s so effective at dismissing servebots.
  22. Glad to see Nishikori back in elite form, but AGAIN he has to take the scenic route to victory against an injured player (Cilic) he should have easily beaten in straights, which is one reason he stays injured himself. Zverev had a surprisingly tough battle against Gasquet, so we’ll see what he can do. Nadal looks pretty unbeatable, though. Wow.
  23. Other suggestions: Brian Patrick Clarke Michael Dietz Dax Griffin Geoffrey Scott Ted King Randolph Mantooth Tonja Walker Jensen Buchanan Sherilyn Wolter Lesli Kay Mitchell Ryan Barbara Rush David Canary Roy Thinnes Katherine Justice Jennifer Bassey

Opinion that I expect to be unpopular: I think they need another regular conservative (and not Ana Navarro) to balance out Meghan. She feels the burden of going up against Whoopi, Sunny, and especially Joy so much that she comes on like a Teamster. She *could* be tolerable. But they have a conservative “slot” on the show, and it’s too much for one person. I think even Jedediah felt it.
