  1. These lists are harder and harder to justify.
  2. Hehe.
  3. KA’s wig looks so witness protection ugh. Annika Noelle can be good, but lord these faces she’s making during this Ridge/Brooke scene…
  4. Oh that’s sad. Mickey Dolenz is the last Monkee standing.
  5. GT’s Phyllis and Hilary bonded over being outcasts (and their shared connection to Jack) so it made total sense. MS’s Phyllis and Amanda feels like a weak attempt to recreate that without any of those underpinnings, and Amanda is a totally bland, underwritten character. Plus, they use Amanda to try to bring out Phyllis’s cuddly side, when we know Phyllis is more like GH’s Carly. As the ladies on RHONY would say, she’s not a girl’s girl.
  6. I don’t buy MS’s Phyllis and Amanda as friends *at all*.
  7. I could not agree more, but it feels like the remaining mostly older audience is sticking around because they enjoy the familiarity. I feel like Y&R’s cast of characters is beyond played out. The Newman family could not be more boring to me.
  8. Hopefully with two of the three actors recast, the dynamic will be somewhat fresh. B&B has all the subtlety of a stomping Stegosaurus.
  9. They mention that a few times in the Daily Beast piece. She’s gotten away with a lot.
  10. GU was fine, but there’s a fresh-faced innocence and sense of irony that Kim Fields had, and I didn’t think Gabrielle’s more knowing, sardonic take made much of an impression, especially when you had someone like Kathryn Hahn in the cast. I was worried for John Lithgow’s back with all that lifting of Kevin Hart. Dude is 76 years old.
  11. Oh no. Why would they do that to a beautiful woman?
  12. Which is crazy because they clearly consider her a strong lead, and she clearly has a fanbase, yet you’re right in many ways. Sometimes Y&R feels like an unfunny, early ‘90s workplace sitcom set at the Grand Phoenix with Phyllis as the acid-tongued proprietor. They are just leaning on Stafford’s Phyllis-ness, thinking that’s all people want, without giving her much substance. The problem is that she’s the only story right for Jack, who’s been to relegated to his niece’s ridiculous story. The Abbotts have been pretty much gutted. Traci and Ashley only pop in from time to time. Just drives home how stagnant the show is. Beyond JG, they’ve made a lot of bad writing/casting/production decisions over the years, and the chickens have come home to roost.
  13. Not a terrible voice.
  14. Mayim Bialik and Ken Jennings will host Jeopardy! through the end of the season. https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-news/jeopardy-mayim-bialik-ken-jennings-to-host-through-remainder-of-season-38-1235059265/
