  1. Oh, I definitely agree. I was just explaining before why it felt as if they had rushed Steve and Carolee's reconciliation. I'm wondering whether Marland was so fixed on the idea of the Aldriches, Powerses and Dancys being the core families of the show, and Matt/Maggie and Steve/Carolee being the tentpole couples, that he saw separating Steve and Carolee any longer as working against that concept.
  2. I could be wrong, or too much of a Marland apologist, but I think he just wanted to wrap up that story (after dragging it out for his entire tenure) and move on.
  3. Yeah, from her marriages to Todd.
  4. For all we know, the spokesperson could be a fraud, lol!
  5. You might want to replace Ellen Foley's photo with one that doesn't show her bare breast.
  6. Oh, well.
  7. I'm down with abolishing the electoral college. The writers of the U.S. Constitution established the EC as a stopgap from electing tyrants like Trump into office. Clearly, therefore, the EC has proven to be no longer effective.
  8. Yep. Now, it's as if everybody's like Robert Morse in "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying," looking at themselves in the mirror, singing "I Believe in You."
  9. No joke! If Obama had committed even a small portion of the crimes that the current administration has committed, his ass would have been swinging from a tree long before today! But I'm proud of MSNBC and others calling it what it is: a lie. Trump told Cohen to LIE to Congress. Plain and [!@#$%^&*] simple. Of course, Rudy's phone would be turned off for the moment. He's older and a bit slower these days, so he needs a little more time to come up with the right lie to tell the media. Unfortunately, many POC never held much hope to begin with.
  10. I'm with the writer of the HuffPo piece: just shut the [!@#$%^&*] website down.
  11. I've always assumed it was more of a response to the material she was being asked to play. Her stories in the late '70's and throughout the '80's, right up to when she left in '87 or so, were more layered, IMO, than that campy [!@#$%^&*] she had to play in subsequent runs -- and when you consider that Paul Rauch was EP for a third of her initial run, that's saying something.
  12. I predict this guy will end up hosting his own show on Fox News before the year is over.
  13. I realize white women are on many people's [!@#$%^&*] list these days, but the truth is, women -- REAL women, SMART women, women who stick up for OTHER women -- get [!@#$%^&*] done.
  14. I HATE the headline for that L.A. Times article. "Oddly aligned"? It's like they're saying, "Wait, you mean the Democrats actually have their [!@#$%^&*] together for once?" Don't look now, L.A. Times, but your political bias is showing.
  15. Yeah, Karla DeVito, an astonishing singer in her own right, took over for Foley when Meat Loaf went on tour. Ironically, that was DeVito in the live footage, but she was lip-syncing to Foley's vocals.
  16. My niece attended a "Christian academy" for awhile in Texas. Those places always give me the willies. On the bright side, they don't have to worry about discriminating against anyone (especially now), because no one in the right mind would ever apply to a "school" such as that. (Seriously. I'd rather work for minimum wage at a fast-food joint than work for a place like Immanuel Christian School.)
  17. I reiterate my wish that this entire "Brexit" mess would go away forever. More and more, it looks like a messy waste of time.
  18. Such a dreadful name.
  19. Beats the hell out of anything from the Trump Tower food court. JS.
  20. No, but I could imagine Wally Kurth as a recast Kirk McColl in a relationship with a newly returned Frannie. (Or even a triangle w/ Frannie and Barbara.) Poor Angel. Girl just can't catch a break, lol.
  21. To quote P.J. "Um...hell no." I, too, think choosing to ignore Tom's '70's past was a missed opportunity...except I would have re-casted Natalie with Meg Bennett (ex-Julia, Y&R; ex-Liza, SFT; ex-Allegra, GH; ex-Megan, SANTA BARBARA). Once they brought a SORAS'ed Teddy (or "Ryder," as he preferred to be called for some, silly reason) to Oakdale, there was no reason not to bring back Joyce, Grant, Don, Mary, or even his sister (Christina?) as well. Ironically, as much as I dislike watching Kelly Monaco, I think she could've made for a good Nikki recast.
  22. In that case, maybe they could have recasted Tom instead?
  23. Plus, I think Kin would have had good mother/son chemistry with Eileen Fulton, as well as good sibling chemistry with Scott Holmes.
